Formulas of Death was the perfect balance of The Horror speed and Children/Down Below atmosphere.
I agree, but I think the problem is that, with Formulas of Death and The Horror, vocals were brutal and I have seen the evolution of vocals in many other bands because of obvious reasons. The vocalist can not keep the same vocals during one single concert. But I agree that Formulas of Death and The Horror are outstanding. Very hard to repeat these albums...
what year is that album?, first time listening to them, kinda like the DT vibe.
One of the few bands in metal that is doing something interesting and actually fun to listen to. A lot of BM bands need to take a lesson from these guys and learn how to write a hook, some melodies, and still manage to be legit.

I found something about "Tribulation" in my Google Feed and INSTANTLY ordered "Where the Gloom becomes Sound" via Amazon. Will take until next week to get it. But I HAD to have the CD. Can't wait to put it in my PC to make FLAC from it and listen to it in the quality the Music deserves (Neutron Music Player)......

I have to say, and I'm not complaining, but this is essentially a Dark Tranquillity song and you wouldn't guess that this was written by a different band if you put this in a DT playlist.

oddly enough that's exactly how I feel. it really builds into something great from something kind of weaker than I'm accustomed to from Tribulation.

I respectfully disagree. Try to be open-minded with their creative progression! I've heard from people who have heard the album already that it's more Post-Punk. They're leaning into some of their influences, it seems like. Cheers!

If you took vocals out, this sounds the same as every other post-metal/gaze song produced in the last decade. You can tell Hulten's left because I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have let the guitars be buried like that-what is this mixing? I love Tribulation, but if the rest of the album is like this, they peaked with Children of the Night and we won't be getting another one.
