Played the demo two months ago for about 3h and instantly bought the game. Don't forget to support brilliant indie game devs ^^ To all programmers out there it also is Open-Source and you can find it at Github.
This game is basically a very minimalistic version of factorio. And at the same time, it gets more complicated production lines than Factorio. It's weird. But in a good way.
It is definitely a nice cheap game ($4 USD on steam soon to be $6) for those who like watching Kibitz. They have a discord (link in game), and a github. He seems like a nice guy and does giveaways every once in a while.
Great start! Love this game! Before you setup your super blueprints check out the optimal ratios for stuffs. These ratios assume your upgrades are on par with each other. 1 full belt needs 5 extractors 4 cutters 6 combiners 5 color mixers 6 painters (4 double or 8 quad painters)
and you always have to ponder which tradeoffs are the best :-) eg the double painter takes up more space, but uses only 1 color for every 2 shapes, thus only half a belt per full belt of shapes. and the quad painter can color the four quarters of a shape differently at once (without cutting and stacking), but needs 1 color for each : 4 color and 1 shape belt for 1 output belt in general it is saving color when first painting and then cutting, but depending on the input shapes, the required space is always quite different.
Holy crap. After watching about 8 minutes of your video, I bought this game from your description link, and I just spent the last 5 hours playing the game. And I just realized I forgot to eat anything for dinner as well.
@@malcolm_mal2055 next week, there will be a new version, and purple will change to magenta :-) that new version will also (or rather most of all) have wires and all kind of logic stuff in the late game, enabling people to (try to) build fully automatic factories which analyze given shapes and then build them ... the price of the game probably will increase by 20% ... from an insane 4€ to 5€, LOL thus no chance of doing something wrong, except maybe falling for the factorio effect of time warp in reallife :-)
2:42 PROTIP: The way to make balancing extractors/belts/cutters/painters extremely easy is to to upgrade all four categories at the same time. For example, you would hold off on upgrading all the categories from Tier 1/1/1/1 until you have all four upgrades ready, and then upgrade to Tier 2/2/2/2. Repeat that with Tier 2/2/2/2 to Tier 3/3/3/3, etc.... This will keep the ratios between each part of your systems static, thus maintaining your system efficiency without having to rebalance your systems. Aside from Tier I Mixing & Painting, the ratios between categories remain fixed relative to the other categories. If you upgrade them at different times, you'll throw off the ratio and need to rebalance your builds in order to maintain optimized system throughput. And who can be bothered with that?
it is only important to *PLAN with equal levels* in mind. having different levels never hurts the speed and productivity _when you compare it to all upgrade bonuses being stuck at the same lowest level of the four._ but you only get the best effects (proper ratios) after also upgrading those upgrade levels that lag behind, or need to build more machines for those types of handling. eg: making painting or stacking faster will already benefit you, even while you extract more slowly. to fix that you can simply and quickly build more extractors and don't need to wait until you got all new levels to have new machines and be able to make the required shapes to get a specific bonus. at 11:46 in the video it would make no sense to have delay improving belts, extraction, cutting and rotating (and thus need twice as many belts and machines), etc only because the windmills require combiners/stackers which are the reward at 12:30 and thus can't be built yet. even without stacking, he soon can upgrade belts and extraction, to have bonuses x6, x6, x4 and x3, which is much better than staying needlessly at x2, x2, x2, x3.
NO!! I watched you through Satisfactory...I watched you through Factorio! I cannot watch you play another factory game that you'll make me want to get!! When's the next episode coming out? HAHA
I enjoyed this game so much I almost feel honored to throw one of their ads/sponsorships a view or two! The next update with wires should pull me right back in. btw great videos :)

Gonna be pedantic for a second here, the teal color is probably more properly called cyan, esp. with it being on a color mixing diagram as secondary colors with yellow and magenta.
I love this game and I'm happy you are playing it! Check the production line of the middle output of the blueprint shape, it does not have the same production of the other !
this is actually a good game to play alongside Factorio and Satisfactory since it plays well on its own, but a lot of the logic learned in each game can carry over
hey, kibitz; I ran across your powder toy vid just now, wanted to remind you about it. you only scratched the surface of what can be done in the game. everything from fusion bombs to snow that has a ctype of literal singularity that instantly explodes when melted. or lasers, or engines, or pixel compression, and so on. heck, I recently ran across a creation that stored the entire bee movie script into a single pixel of a couple million or billion photons. and it was like a cartridge that could be saved and loaded.... this game is insane. give it another try again sometime, will ya?
I am just thinking, can't you merge them together randomly to save space when bringing them to the hub? It doesn't seem that keeping them separate matters since the unused parts are just deleted.
you forgot to mention kubifaktorium and (for gardeners who want to grow their iron, copper and gold) also assembly planter, or as a crossover with settlers2 the autonauts ... all of them are quite addicting, with shapez being the cheapest and yet one of the best.
I actually do that. I dont say billion or trillion or higher. I just say Hundred, Thousand, or Million again. 2 Billion Years? 2 Million Million Years. 3,141,592,653? 3 Thousand 1 Hundred 41 Million 5 Hundred 92 Thousand 6 Hundred 53.
