- Join us in this vlog as we share on ride POV's from all of the major rides at Busch Gardens Williamsburg as we visit for the first time! This awesome theme park opened back in 1975 and is home to 8 different roller coasters including some very iconic rides. In this vlog we share on ride footage and our reviews from Alpengeist, Apollo's Chariot, Griffon and all of the other roller coasters that are located at this stunning park.
In this vlog we also check out some of the other rides at the park including a beautiful boat ride, fantastic train ride and one of the best rapids we've ever experienced. We had an absolutely incredible day at Busch Gardens Williamsburg and we look forward to returning again at some point in the future!

We just visited Busch Gardens Williamsburg 2 weeks ago. LOVED it! The rides, the shows, the atmosphere...BEST themed park I've been to outside of Disney or Universal.
And to add, The mid course brakes on Aplingeist really killed the ride for me.
Fair play to Busch Gardens allowing some on-ride.

I'm so happy the park is mostly German themed. I've lived there 12 years of my life and it's great to see a piece of home.

I like how the coaster enthusiasts are friends with each other. Never been to this park.. Always wanted to go since Loch Ness first opened...1978...2 interlocking loops was the best thing going at the time!
Yeah, the theme park lovers community are mostly very sweet and endearing people... there are of course the exception to every rule... but for the most part... they're all pretty friendly people.
Best vlog of the trip so far, pure fun! What a theme park day should be. Wish I'd been there, a reminder of why we love theme parks!

Finally, the day has come. TPW's visit to BG. Glad you fellas enjoyed it. Sometimes I'll just take my boys for a stroll around the park. No matter how many times I go I always take photos and videos. Also, my personal rule for when I'm going to ride anything, is ALWAYS get Pompeii first, as you saw it'll close down from time to time. Train and Skyride are my favs because of the views.
Come back again in the future and bring Charlotte along.

Seeing these videos in the closed season makes me want to get back to theme parks so much. At the time of writing its only a few months but it still feels like ages
I've lived near Williamsburg for the last 20 years, and I've been going to Busch Gardens Williamsburg since I was 4. So pumped you came to visit a place that's near and dear to my heart. It truly is a gem of a theme park and I'm glad you enjoyed your time.
This is my favorite blog of the trip so far. I loved all1:24:17 of it! My favorite part was during the rapids ride when you gave the bag to Alex to keep it dry and he got drenched by the waterfalls. Well done for keeping it dry though, Alex!

I freaking LOVE Busch Gardens Williamsburg. It was the very first theme park I visited. And it had just opened when I went. Of course it was totally different 45 years ago. It's one of my favorite parks especially for the layout, and so much more. Before 9/11, you could take a tram over to the Anheuser Busch factory, tour around and get free samples of beer. :)

Alpengeist night ride in October is my top 3 coasters of all time. Night ride is absolutely incredible.

Agreed, Verbolten is not a family coaster (the drop track is more intense than most inversions), nor is it a good coaster (the pacing is awkward). It's a poor man's Flight of Fear (at the relatively nearby Kings Dominion).

This was one of my fav vids from this trip to watch. I was laughing out loud when you guys were on the rapids ride and Sean said, "quick, pass the bags to Alex" to keep them dry, then he ends up getting the worst of the soaking! LOL!! Too funny! ^_^
Fun fact about Alpengeist, that mid run brake used to only just barely slow you down, causing your stomach to fly up into your throat as you were suddenly whipped downwards on the drop. It was awesome. I’d guess they tightened up the brakes to reduce wear and tear, since I’m sure the forces generated by trains wanting to fly forwards when the track is going down were tremendous. Miss the old setup, but the ride still really holds up.
I've always heard so much about this park but wow!!! I need to get myself state side and go for a couple of days!!
I remember riding Alpengeist the year it was built. Awesome ride. It was glassy smooth!
Well now lol I don't feel so bad anymore after hearing The Screamer lol. I just cry...I find no comfort in screaming 😂

Alpengiest and Apollo’s Chariot are both prototype roller coasters. Apollo’s Chariot was B and Ms’ fist hyper coaster.
The person screaming gave me a good laugh, just what I needed during these rough times.

I appreciated all of your enthusiasm about the beauty of this theme park. One thing I most appreciate about their detailed landscaping is that no matter how high up a ride takes you, you will not see any service areas or dumpsters behind any of the buildings. Busch Gardens Williamsburg definitely deserves the title that has been bestowed upon it by NAPHA for the last 31 years straight: "World's Most Beautiful Theme Park".

What a great park this is Shawn. Great to finally get on ride footage, of course, that's something that's beyond your control, but it sure does add to the experience. It's a shame more parks don't allow it.
You should do a top 10 favorite theme/amusement parks that you’ve been to. Also love the vlogs you’ve done, especially the ones from the U.S and I just love watching your reaction to all the parks and rides :D
Busch Gardens: Europe in Williamsburg VA used to be my home park for a few years. I used to live about a10 maybe 15 min drive from Busch Gardens in the north western tip of the city Newport News VA.
I had season passes every year I lived there. At the time, I stayed with my father who was in the Army so he got me a military discount. Got season passes for price of a single day admission. Ive been there so many times and it never got dull. Used to go like 2 or 3 times a week. Whenever I got bored basically lol. I loved spending time there.
I haven't been to anywhere near as many parks as Shawn or Taylor and I only have about 117 coasters under my belt but I have been to more then your average enthusiast or park goer and I know enough to have my favorites when it comes to parks and coasters. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is an absolutely beautiful park. My second favorite after Cedar Point.
Sadly it has been years since I moved away and been there to Busch Gardens. The last time I was there tho was 2008 maybe I think. It was the last year Big Bad Wolf was up and running. Can't wait to visit again sometime. Maybe make a trip next summer.
Last but not least, I agree with Shawn, Alpengeist was my favorite coaster there, at least out of the coaster line up they had in 2008.

I love all the vlogs, but it's so much better when there's POVs of the rides. All you other parks should take note and allow chest-mounted go-pros (I'm looking at you, Blackpool Pleasure Beach!)

I finally saw a rapids ride that was impressive. AND THE WATERFALLS DIDN'T TURN OFF! I'm always disappointed when they don't soak the riders. It looked like a wild ride. Best part of this vlog!

Other than Disney the best theme park I've been to. The way the rides are set into the countries brings another element to the park. A must go.
