They knew they were 100% heaven bound and were to be reunited with Christ. Their longing to be with Jesus again must have exponentially overshadowed their fear of dying and suffering.
Hence why Jesus said, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Believers already have been put to death and many others will continue to believe although they have not seen Him, and they’ll die for Jesus. He died for me, so I’d gladly take death for my Savior and I’d do it with a smile 😁

Judas Iscariot did not use the 30 pieces of silver to purchase the field he died in. Out of guilt, before he hanged himself, he returned the 30 pieces of silver. Because it was considered blood money, it could not be placed back into the temple treasury. So, the temple priests bought the field where he died as a "potters" field to bury him in and bury the poor, the unfortunate, etc, in.

" I desire mercy, NOT sacrifice " said Jesus. Some of the apostles had the weird idea, that if they martyred their bodies, they would gain favour with God, and go to some place called heaven, that doesn't even exist. Apparently some even asked to be crucified, when the Romans were persecuting early Christians. This was just sheer stupidity.

The Lord told us in John 15:18 that IF the world hates you, remember that IT HATED ME FIRST. The deaths of the Apostles shows us this in 12 ways. So we should just take up our crosses, lean on His word and work in His promises. WE SHALL NOT FEAR 💜
That the disciples were not hesitant to face gruesome death for Jesus, is a definite proof of the disciples experiencing the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ personally. Otherwise, they wouldn't have dared to experience such gruesome end. Super video. Hats off from Tamil Nadu, India.
Christ is eternal spirit, not a body, so cannot die. This is the whole point of the teachings of Jesus. Christ is our true nature, which Jesus realised, and taught. " you shall know the Truth, and the truth shall set you free " " you will realise that I am in the Father, and you are in me, and I am in you " " the Kingdom of God is within you ". " it is the Spirit that gives life ; the flesh counts for nothing ". Jesus teaches that the way back to our non - separation from God is by non - judgment, forgiveness, and perfect love for all life.
I worked with a guy from India who was Catholic. He told me that Saint Thomas is revered by the Catholic's in India, most of whom come from one particular State. He told me stories about Thomas that I never knew. Many Churches in India are named after Thomas and many People take his Name as their own.
What I love about videos like this is they highlight that Jesus' disciples were flesh and blood people like you and I. Within tradition the disciples are vaunted and lionized almost as if myths but they walked around the earth laboring and struggling with the same fears buttressed by hope as anyone does today. It makes them relatable to those of us trying to follow Jesus even in a time when He isn't walking this earth.

When Peter said, "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). What was the name spoken by the apostle Peter? Was it Jesus? In the 1611 English version of the Bible, the name of our Savior is Iesus. Earlier, His name was known as Iesous, which was a transliteration from the name Yeshua. The name Yeshua was a common Aramaic name known in Jerusalem and Judea. Shocking, Peter spoke none of these names, as he did not know Him by them. So what name did Peter say? The apostle Paul gives us a clue, for he said, "Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that YAHSHUA is LORD, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11). John 3 : 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3 : 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. So to be truthful Stephen Marlowe, I am not sure what language that this message was actually spoken in, but by Peter speaking to the Hebrews only at that time, I would have to say that he Peter spoke to them in the Hebrew tongue, but Christ Jesus is a Universal God, and since He ( Christ Jesus ) confounded everybody’s speech at the Tower of Babel, He can speak every last language on the planet earth Amen, and no matter what our language is, that message that was given to Nicodemus became a universal message to every man, woman, boy or girl & on the Day of Pentecost, that was Jesus speaking through Peter by the power of The Holy Ghost & I hear you loud and clear Stephen Marlowe & it is well. In Yeshua / Jesus Name. It is well, but that New Birth, it starts with Acts 2 : 38 and those are the keys that was given to Peter, ( just as Jesus promised him ) and spiritually that became a Universal law and it is engraved in the heart of every last true believer which was and still is the church. Hello there as my name is Thomas I know quite a little about Saint Thomas. So in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church we believe that Saint Thomas actually preached in India and that’s why there is a small Indian Orthodox Church they used to be much larger but sadly most of them including the bishops and priests were killed leaving only a small portion. As for his death we believe that he was captured and that they peeled his skin from his body and collected all his teeth from his mouth and then added salt and lemon to his flesh to make him burn even more. It was truly one of the worst deaths. Acts may be problematic as research in the last 30 years suggest the author of Acts also wrote the 3 now considered pseudepigrapha Pastoral epistles and also Luke. This based on historical content, writing style, vocabulary, etc. For example, it wasn’t the Jews that chased Paul from Damascus. Here Josephus gives us more historical background. The Arab king of Damascus started a war with the Herodian king of Galilee several years after that king divorced his daughter. He waited for the current Roman emperor to die then attacked. Client kingdoms weren’t allowed to fight each other. Paul was a citizen of a hostile nation then and needed to escape the city. There are many conflicts between Paul’s 7 authenticated epistles and the history as laid out by Acts.

It is something the church widely believes. Tertullian I think was the first one to report it. The Roman Emperor Domitian commanded that he would be boiled but he kept preaching from the pot, and then was banished until Domitian died.
Post Script: St. Paul the Apostle (previously named Saul, and a persecutor of the Church before his conversion) was beheaded in Rome. He wasn't crucified because he was a Roman citizen. Tradition says that after his head was chopped off, it bounced 3 times and a spring of water came up at each location where it bounced. This is rather macabre, but then, this world is a life and death spiritual battle between good and evil
Before the Apostle John was exiled to Patmos, he was thrown into boiling oil. Somehow he survived and then was exiled. I spent quite some time trying to find out even the original name of the FATHER and then of Jesus but, apart from the Paleo Hebrew name for the FATHER, there seems to be a variety of names for Jesus. However, we worship God in His Spirit and He hears us even if we do not know His original name. We can be comforted by Psalms 138:2 "...for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name."

It just shows you that every single one of us must carry his own cross. They were the closest ones to Jesus, his friends, his disciples, his Apostles but they didn't receive any special treatment or an exclusion from suffering. People often get an illness and expect Jesus to instantly heal them because they prayed and asked for it and if it doesn't happen, they quickly despair and blame God.
The issue of healing is a very difficult one to come to peace with. At least, it has been for me. I have peace about all the other aspects of the Faith, but healing has been a difficult issue for me. Especially when I see my friends healed instantly of serious ailments and disabilities right before my eyes. However, recently, the LORD has healed me of a thing or two and I no longer feel like the least loved in the Kingdom. I know the LORD won't heal everyone every time because that would sort of turn Him into a genie in a bottle. Whom He chooses to heal and when is still a hard mystery for me to understand.

According to Josephus, James, the brother of Jesus was stoned to death by the decision of the Sanhedrin. Note, that contrary to the gospels, the Sadducee who were the hereditary priesthood and ran the temple sat on the Sanhedrin not the Pharisees who were laymen. The Roman Governor of the time was in Alexandria and when he heard what was done fired the High Priest for forming the Sanhedrin without his permission. The Sadducee disappeared after the loss of the temple and were probably unknown at the time the gospels were written 50 to 100 years later and outside of Judea.

He must have lived for quite some time, as if I've done my math right, most of the apostles lived about a good 30 years after Jesus's death, give or take. John would have lived over 60 years longer. Maybe as low as into his 80s depending on how old he was in 33 AD, but that's still decent, even accounting for theories of people only living into their 30s being the byproduct of misunderstanding arithmetic means, with the actual mode being closer to 60s or 70s.
(If you’re still reading as a member of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church I just want to let you know that is Christian’s are being killed on mass in Ethiopia and really need your help to spread awareness nearly 1 million people have been killed in silence over the past 2 years. There are bishops, priests, and followers all being killed in gruesome ways giving their life for their faith like the apostles in this video. Please bring awareness to the situation thank you)

unbelievers need only ask one simple question: A man may live for a lie, but how many would DIE for a lie? Especially in most of these, a very gruesome horrendous death...

I wouldn't call it old age. He was build alive and maroo ned on the isle of Patmos, a slave laborers destination. I'd say he died with several life long injuries.
Really? Show me in the Bible. Please give me a book, chapter and verse. I have read the Bible and except for Judas and James (the son of Zebedee) there is no information regarding the death of the other Apostles; except that John died of old age.
Crucifixion the Roman world was a punishment generally reserved for the worst offenders, so I think it unlikely that the Romans, not exactly known for their kindness towards those they considered criminals, would have allowed Peter or Andrew to dictate the terms of their crucifixions. In Peter's case, if indeed true, it would more likely have been a cruel piece of Roman performance art at his expense. There is nothing at all remarkable about Andrew's demise, as the "x" shaped cross was common.
Or probably they were all just crucified normally. The church makes up alot of stuff. Even in the bible Paul, the only writer that could have known Jesus, never mentioned miracles of Jesus. Indeed all Jesus muscles were performed by other extant 'Gods' of the time eg Bachus turned water into wine. Likely early church just wanted to show that Jesus could do what competing Gods could do.

Can you imagine what it would've been like to walk with Jesus in that time?! What an honor that would be, we walk with him today, but in spirit! Just glad I know him and he is my saviour!!!
It's quite confounded that before that first Easter Morning the apostles weren't dedicated to Lord to the point where they'd die for him. At the crucifixion Peter denied Yeshua thrice and the others ran and hid. John was the only one who witnessed Yeshua give up the ghost on Gogatha that day. He was in the company of the Marys. However two days later after their meeting with the risen Christ in the upper room there was not one who wasnt willing to die for his faith. To me this is one of the most convincing events of the New Testament. "But how much more blessed are those who have never seen and yet still believe"!
Easter didn’t exist back then. The first SUNday after the vernal equinox existed long before the Crucifixion, it was all about idolatry. It was all about the worship of the Goddess of Fertility, Ishtar, hence eggs and rabbits which represent fertility, not Jesus. If you say Ishtar, it sounds a lot like Easter. Hot Cross Buns originated by idolatry, when people would go to high places and worship the SUN, the Catholic Church originated by SUNworship, allowing SUNworshippers to bring in their idols into the church, Emperor Constantine was himself a SUNworshipper. Throughout Catholic Churches and the Vatican are sun bursts, even behind the heads of paintings. People have been deceived about the origins of Easter. The origins had nothing to do with Jesus, that includes Christmas as well. Jesus wasn’t born in the winter, December 25 is about the goddess Mithra, Tammuz was also on that day as well, not Jesus.
@@dianechapmanbettyboop The morning the Lord rolled back the stone and walked resurrected out of the grave was indeed the very first Easter. Because without this supernatural event there would be no need for the Church to annually celebrate the event. People of faith rely on their relationship with their Creator and their knowledge of the text used to facilitate the faith they have come to except. I'm well aware Christianity has pagan DNA but I have also experienced divine intervention in my life that I firmly believe was influenced by my faith and fidelity to Yeshua! There's really nothing you mentioned in your thread that I have not read about before. Thanks have a great day!
@@jeromedavid7944 you said Jesus rolled back the stone, that is incorrect, an Angel rolled back the stone. Matthew 28:2. They Christianized a pagan holiday. Just like they Christianized a pagan day to celebrate Christmas. They turned the Worship of the Goddess of Fertility into Jesus. The church today still keep the ritual of Easter SUNrise service with hot cross bun, just as the SUNworshippers, even celebrating with Rabbits and Eggs, representing the Goddess of fertility, Ishtar. They still use pagan symbols to Celebrate Jesus. Kind of hypocritical. Claim to celebrate Jesus, using the pagan rituals. Just like SUNday Worship origins come from Paganism. When Emperor Constantine, a SUN worshipper, brought the SUNworshippers into the church, along with them their idols. He originated the first SUNday Keeping Laws on March 7, A.D. 321. ON VENERABLE DAY OF THE SUN, let magistrate’s and people residing in the cities rest, let all workshops be closed. The SUNday Law was officially confirmed by the Roman Catholic Church Papacy in A.D. 364, the Council of Laodicea confirmed. You may read from Genesis-Revelation, you will not find a single line authorizing the Santification of SUNday, the Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we, the Catholic Church never sanctify. Again, the Catholic Church, by virtue of her divine mission changed the day from Saturday to SUNday. (The Catholic Mirror, publication of Cardinal James Gibbons, 9/23/1893) Of course, the Catholic Church claims that the change from Saturday to SUNday was her act, and her act is a MARK of her ecclesiastical authority in religious matters. (H.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal James Gibbons) The Catholic Church claims the Church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact. (Catholic Record of London, Ontario, 9/1/1923) Protestants do not realize that by observing SUNday, they accept the authority of the spokesperson of the Church, the Pope. (Our SUNday Visitor, 2/5/1950.)
@@dianechapmanbettyboop Everytime you recite the Apostle's Creed you accept the authority of the Church. What do you think is more important what day you call the Sabbath or giving assistance to a widow n her orphans? Which holds more value in the Almighty's eyes what day we say his Son was born or visiting and comforting the sick, infirmed, or the jailed persecuted? The greatest and very first step in obtaining true wisdom is the fear of the Lord. Also not all protestant churches celebrate the Sabbath on Sunday. The Seventh Day Adventist church as well as messianic Jewish synagogues still recognize Saturday as the Sabbath.

Hebrews 9:22, the papacy may call themselves God, but without the shedding of blood, there can be no remission. The Pope nor the Priests have shed any blood. It’s amazing, these men were loyal unto death because they absolutely believed without doubt what they were witnesses of.
They knew they were 100% heaven bound and were to be reunited with Christ. Their longing to be with Jesus again must have exponentially overshadowed their fear of dying and suffering.
Hence why Jesus said, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Under this video - and elsewhere - some are claiming that the Portuguese concocted lies about Thomas in India in order to spread the gospel - but since the Portuguese had a strong presence in India, and since the churches are there in Kerala, it's highly likely that Thomas was also in India, spreading the gospel - but since the public is programmed and indoctrinated to believe Jesus lived thousands of years ago, when he actually lived in the 1500's, almost everyone is deceived and left in confusion - which is the intention.

Saul meet Jesus on his way to persecute Jesus and God changed his name to Saul. He wrote the letter to the church of Galatians in 49AD, when many of God’s disciples were still alive.

Yes, but it's a matter of how long after their deaths. In the case of the gospels, the long gap, particularly in an era when their was no contemporary recordation, makes the historicity of most New Testament accounts problematic.

"Behold, God is my salvation,

I am impressed and grateful that you handled this subject with respect. I know not everyone follows Jesus, but it seems the vast majority of videos on UA-cam that deal with Jesus' life are hell-bent on "proving" He is not the Son of God. We all have free will, and those people can think whatever they like, but it's so nice to find something relating to Christianity that isn't intent on bashing my faith or making these men of faith look silly. I got a somewhat wry chuckle out of Phillip's death not being due to natural causes. With the Apostles, martyrdom pretty much WAS a natural cause. One thing, though: You did not say Judas' death was a suicide. He hanged himself. His intestines burst out because his corpse slipped from the noose and hit the ground.
Because there is no evidence that he is or even was the son of God

@@elizajames477I have to admit that yours is one of the best, and one of the most intelligent comments I've read on here
@@josepedroza3400tough what he says about bacchus is correct, and the rest seems quite logical. Many of the many religions that were sprouting during roman occupation mixed the myths to find more followers.
@@MrThecosmicpope: Sir, are you saying that this is all myths or lies?
@@elizajames477i really pity u eliza for saying things u dont have enough information about have u ever read the bible n u justify urself do u know that paul became an apostle of Jesus Christ thru a calling and vision after the ascension of Christ our Lord not face to face interaction as other apostles thats why in the above he wasnt mentioned besides among them besides those ur gods nevrr mention them close to The Lord coz clearly yr talking about God that z blasphemy of what you have said coz God can do all things be blessed❤
As modern day Christ followers...This is our bloody and beautiful legacy. May we be found as courageous and committed to our precious Jesus if and when we're faced with the same calling. To God be all glory, honor and praise!
I will die for and in Jesus Christ of Nazareth Glory to his wonderful name,I love him because he first loves me,and it has been proven time and times again,oh hallelujah blessed be God in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth Amen and AMEN
Can you imagine what it would've been like to walk with Jesus in that time?! What an honor that would be, we walk with him today, but in spirit! Just glad I know him and he is my saviour!!!
😊
(The Catholic Mirror, publication of Cardinal James Gibbons, 9/23/1893)
Of course, the Catholic Church claims that the change from Saturday to SUNday was her act, and her act is a MARK of her ecclesiastical authority in religious matters. (H.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal James Gibbons)
The Catholic Church claims the Church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact. (Catholic Record of London, Ontario, 9/1/1923)
Protestants do not realize that by observing SUNday, they accept the authority of the spokesperson of the Church, the Pope.
@@jeromedavid7944 all throughout the Bible it says to keep the Commandment’s . In James it says we will be judged by the 10 Commandment’s. The seventh day Sabbath is part of the 10 Commandment’s. Unfortunately, the Roman Catholic Church Papacy took it upon themselves to believe they are God, and they admit to changing it, not God. Even though they believe they are God on Earrh. That is blasphemy. Blasphemy according to the Bible is a man calling themselves God, and man claiming to be able to forgive sins. Only God can forgive sins. Hebrews 9:22, the papacy may call themselves God, but without the shedding of blood, there can be no remission. The Pope nor the Priests have shed any blood. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. 1 John 1: 9, 10.
The Counterfeit day of worship, SUNday, will be one day the Mark of the Beast. The. Bible says it is about worship. God says to keep all 10, not just the ones you want to. The Bible says, that most people will be lost, including many professed Christians.
Matthew 7: 13,14, 20-23
Lawlessness will be the the reason for most, and also having a form of Godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 2 Timothy 3:5.

When once the Master of the house is risen up and shut the door(probation is closed), and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and He shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

OMG thank you for making this video! You just saved me SO MUCH RESEARCH! I love this channel! 💯🎯🎯❤
Thanks David!
Now that's what I'm talkin about man I love this channel
Peter: Upside Down Cross
James: Behaded
John: Died Of Natrual Causes
Of A Many Old Age In Patmos
Andrew: "X" Shaped Cross
Phiilip: Crucified Upside Down In Judea
Crucified In A Tall
Bartholomew: Skinned Alive By Knives
My immediate reaction even before listening to this is... It has nothing to do about how they 'died' but everything about how they lived 😉
My first question is, how would these people know how the disciples died when no one in history actually knew? Sure 300 to 400 years later some church leaders began some rumors, but how do they know?
@@Yhurtme there are no records or scrolls concerning the topic. It was 200 to 300 years later before people even started writing about it.
And that's after I actually did my research and not just listen to the first person who said what I wanted to be true. I'd be grateful if you took your own advice and did the research.
@@Yhurtme do you have any way to prove any of that is true? I'm not questioning God, I'm questioning any evidence that would prove he exist. Otherwise how could I make an informed decision about which God I should worship? Since I don't want to go to any of the religions he'll, I want to be sure I make the right choice. Please help.
Faith don't need proof...let NO One deceive you.
@@karlbalance3050 you are correct but that's what makes it stupid. People in other religions have the exact same faith and how can you prove which religion is the right if you can prove if any ae wrong. He is nothing a person can't believe in faith. I can literally believe on faith that believing stuff on faith is stupid, fortunately I also have evidence for that.
Thank you for the video, it was well presented. In particular, you included where there is discrepancy, so your presentation was not biased. Well done!
No it's not..they didn't sit at a table..they reclined at a table. Look it up
YES everything was by proof and fact
So, unfortunately, there's really no certainty as to how most of them died.
Or even if any of them existed.
...Plane crash.
Exactly they all are from Jerusalem but supposedly died in England France Spain or Portugal and let’s not forget when they died they were able to pick the way they died so their opinions didn’t matter until it came to the way that died 🤥
@ZEUS O. Look like living on " Olimpus " you got sick in your head, you must be really the dumbest person on earth to say that because many atheist believe that they actually existed, even the National Geographic Magazine when they put up a video about the Bible they never denied the facts written in the Bible, they just try to spin the real facts to align them with their false teachings.
no no no its true its on you tube
To my understanding, James wasnt the first to die for Jesus. It was Stephen (Acts Ch.7)
Thanks for taking your Precious time and making this great piece of history
Amen
Now you know how they write history. All base on reality ,truth ,and facts like this one.
Great apostles of the Lord 🙏,they gave up their lives for Him 🥰 n indeed will receive a great reward awaiting them
It would really be nice to show these people how they truly were! Black Men! Hebrew Isrealites! One day the whole world will know the truth!!APTTMH YAH ❤
I hope you don't mean those obnoxious people spewing hate on city corners all across the USA...
Shout out to everyone reading this 💥💥
A properly constructed upright crucifix has a foot fitting that is in a measured place so as they being executed cannot gain relief by standing and lock their knees into place for support. An inverted cross isn't evil, it was common graphiti
It’s going to cost them though. Putting pressure on your feet while there’s nails driven through them is going to be painful too.
Right, blood goes to the head quickly hanging upside down sheesh
