I think a smithing rebalance could be a good thing, If it's done correctly. Like still keep rune platebody as 99 but redistribute it better across the levels so you don't unlock 5 things at 99. Have rune start at like 80 rather than 85, that's my thoughts at least.
That's a good suggestion, at minimum I think they should make smelting a bar on par with making something from the bar. Gold ore is just too good of xp that if they doubles the xp to smelt a runite bar it would still be worse than making gold bars with the gauntlets
