Awesome work!! Turned out Beautiful!! Thank You for Sharing the Tutorial!!!🤩 This pattern would make for a beautiful Heart, too!🤩 You Amaze me, with your Talent!!
I have recently started experimenting with polymer clay and I am delighted to find your channel. You are a wonderful teacher. Your quiet, detailed instruction alongside your inspiring ideas is just what I need . Thank you for being so generous with your talent.
Your tutorials are very well made. Thank you so much on showing how to do the mica shifts. I have been starting to play around with Polymer clay. It is a new medium for me. I have been making seed bead jewelry, and beaded jewelry for about 30 years or so and got board with what I was finding. AWESOME JOB!!!
Oh no! Not a clashing silicon mat! I'm totally teasing you. Loved this tutorial. You're good at taking what looks complicated and making it easy. Thanks.
Awesome tutorial, Samantha! I love to watch your tutorials. You are very thorough in your instructions, and they are very concise and clear. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I love the complete set and the blue is so pleasant to the eyes because it has a nice contrast. Well done Sam as usual. I have seen a beautiful set in your gallery where someone else made a collar with clay which looks like Jean material texture. This collar really strike my eyes because it does not look like clay at all. Can you please show how do you do it.?
I really appreciate your tutorials and experimentation. I am glad you have moved your logo to the top of the page! It was hard to really see your beautiful projects through the previous one that was sort of see-through but went across the middle of the photo.
Thank you. I went through and changed just about all the thumbnails so that the project shows much better. I like it a lot more now. Glad to know you like it too. :D
scraping off the scrap clay! omg so simple but who would have thought?! i would have just scrunched it all up and made it all scrap! brilliant! and beautiful work and tutorial (as always!) :)
Love this tutorial. Tried the alcohol ink in indigo and got kind of like what the ultramarine mix made but really like the color. This is such a great place to learn thank you
Thank you for another professional, informative tutorial. I appreciate you giving results for the different ways you can create custom mica clays. And I like that you mentioned Kato Poly Clay concentrates, which are also available at Prairie Craft Company. I am just beginning to explore using them with translucent clay. You demonstrated several techniques in this tutorial and as always, provided a lot of inspiration. By the way, I'd like to see more information on joining two pieces of textured clay like you did in this tutorial.
The translucent used in this project is such a small amount compared to the other colors that using premo translucent with fimo should be fine. I tend to use premo translucent a lot when I'm making canes with kato and wish to pack it with translucent. It works out just fine.
I am so new to this and you are my only teacher because you explain things so well, finish your projects with exquisite details and have such a wonderful imagination for design. Your work is always inspiring...still, I have questions. Can you say what size diamond cutter you used? And does all rattail cord come in 2mm? That's mostly what I find on Etsy. I may have already asked on this same comment page what size circle cutter you use when making up your color blends. Oh! And the findings. Fire Mountain Gems, like you, get their products off right away and they have so many products. What size are the crimps and Charlotte crimps? I see the circle links from pendant to the cord is large, can you help me with the size. This post isn't new so I'm not certain you'll get this barrage of questions - I am sorry I have so many. If you can't see this I do offer so many thanks for all of the wonderful things you keep teaching. You are amazing!
Okay. I've since sold the piece so I'll try to get the measurements right. The diamond cutters were 4.5cm long. You can get bugtail which is 1mm in diameter. You can get mousetail which is 1.5mm in diameter and you can get rattail with is 2mm in diameter. These are the crimp ends I used in the video. www.firemountaingems.com/itemdetails/h20a8681fn The links on the ends were I think about 1.5cm in diameter.
I have been watching your videos and finally given and just made a purchase on your Etsy shop. I could’ve spent hundreds!!!! Your very talented, thank u for sharing your designs and advice. I bought a tutorial as well as I love your pansie cane and think u explain things very well. I thought u had a South African accent but you seem to be in Australia. Am I wrong? Thank u again and happy crafting
You are truly amazing. I have a question about jump rings, I can't ever get them to snap and close right, I'm twisting not pulling or squeezing. What could I be doing wrong?
@@JessamaTutorials I'm not really sure. I order them from Etsy or Fire mountain gems. But thank you, next time I order I will be sure It's not aluminum. Thanks for your help.
Beautiful Snowflakes! Can we just assume that all of the cords and holes in the cord covers are always 1mm in all of your tutorials? Or maybe you could put the diameters in the list of supplies. I hate to keep asking, but I am such a novice about things like that. Many thanks in advance.
For Charlotte crimps and the crimps used with them yes the hold is always 1mm. For the crimps I used in this tutorial I used these crimps as they have a 2mm hole. www.firemountaingems.com/itemdetails/h20a8677fn In other tutorials I'll some times use a 3mm hole crimp depending on how large the cord is. www.firemountaingems.com/itemdetails/h20a8681fn I don't tend to use any other ends in tutorials.
Tell me about diluting the mica particles. Could you not just use ultramarine blue alone. And how do I know when mixing colors, what will be a problem as far as the mica particles? By the way, I think that you do some of the most beautiful work and you are very good at giving instructions. I love your videos.
You want to start with a metallic clay. They the right amount of mica powders. If you want to color that clay with a clay that doesn't have mica particles you want to find a way to use as little of the none metallic clay as possible, because it will dilute the mica particle in the mica clay and the mica shift will come out looking weak.
So Pretty and whata geat tutorial. Where I live its nearly impossible to get resin, I havent been able to find it. Would it be possible to use cler embossing powder instead?
You've taken so much time to figure out just how to replicate the blue, not to mention the disgn of the necklace and earrings. I found the concentrated blue but not the concentrated magenta. Maybe I read your list wrong?! I forgot to say how beautiful the necklace and earrings are! They are wonderful! What size are the circle cutters you're using to make your blends? Is this the size you almost always use for recipe’s? In the video I think you said all of the clay was Kato. Pearl and translucent as well. On the list the pearl and, if you mentioned it, the translucent was Premo. I think I recall your having said in an altogether separate video that the properties of Premo translucent went better with blues while the Kato was more suited for yellows. Do I have that right? Either way, for the pieces you made would you say you only used Kato? I’ll experiment more on my own down the line. Right now I am more interested in the right techniques you show us. Thank you!
Don't worry about the magenta, that's just plain kato magenta. The size circle I usually use for color recipes is about 2cm in diameter. The color recipe is all kato, but I did use plain pearl white premo and a premo snowflake cane. In a previous video I said that premo translucent was good for warm colors while the premo white translucent is good for cool colors. The kato translucent is okay for any color recipe.
What does one charge in there Etsy Shop for beautiful pieces like this? I have seen many that seem under priced for the work and time the Maker has put into it.
Hi everyone Samantha I love your work and your beautiful clear instructions. I seem to have difficulty getting hold of translucent Fimo. I can get translucent white easily but it's not the same is it? Babs
Hi there! Great question!! I just ordered from Amazon all kato clays.. They by weight were cheaper than sculpy and fimo. I was able to get the kato concentrated color 4 block set for under 4 dollars in the primary colors and 5 dollars for the 4pack of pink, red, orangeand yellow. The translucent one by kato is 12.5 oz for just over 10 dollars and sculpy was around 8 dollars for 8 ounces.. Same with the black. I saw several comments about how the clay left color on their fingers. This she covered and about the conditioning of concentrated kato clay.. This tutorial was awesome!!!
Hi Samantha ! I would like to know where to find the swirl texture stamp that you used, it is so beautiful! I have an idea for this stamp but can't find it anywhere.
Does sometimes, when you drill a hole, back hole gets distorted? It depends what polymer clay I use (it happens with some premo and fimo), but I was wondering is there any way to avoid it? Have you had experience with that? Thank you❤️
Yes. That does happen sometimes. I like to drill half way one way and then the other half the opposite way so that the drill doesn't distort the hole. Hope that made sense.

I’m really confused about using resin. Some use it all the time, some refuse to use it at all because they say it will yellow with time. So what is the truth? Your jewelry is amazing, but are you confident it won’t yellow eventually?
If the Uv resin isn't cure properly it will yellow. Also if the jewelry is exposed to direct sunlight for long periods, it'll yellow. However, I've had pieces inside for over 7 years and they haven't yellowed.
