    Gotta love vintage Sheaffer's. 😁
I only have one flattop, a 5-30 in black Radite, but have at least a half dozen from the Balance range through the 1960s. And all are some of my favorite writers. Incredible pen! Thanks for sharing it!

Loved this to bits. I love vintage Sheaffer (and Waterman) just as much as you do, Troy. But I only have one vintage flat top Sheaffer from the 1930s. And green in pens appeals to me a lot, especially jade.
This Jade Senior looks utterly beautiful, and seems to write just as splendidly - indeed, thanks in no small part to your loving attention and labors in restoring and properly cleaning everything up.
This video convinced me to seek out another vintage flat top Sheaffer very soon. The classic old No Nonsense is a flat top, too. Wish I could put a 14k Lifetime nib on mine. 🙂
Kudos for the video! Priceless stuff!

There are no flat-tops in my collection, but there are three Balances, along with plenty of later Sheaffer models up to the Targa era. The Balance nibs have no flex, but I would never call them 'nails'; they are some of the sweetest writers I've ever used, though one needs a light touch to get the best results. (Pity there's no way to display a writing sample here.)
After watching this episode it seems I'll just have to find a flat-top of my own.
Cheers from The Great Southern Land of 'Terror Australis'.

Very nice looking pen! How did you get the cap & barrel so shiny?

I didn’t do anything special. It was all in relatively good condition when I got it, but I used a Simichrome type paste for an initial buff up (I actually use a similar off brand metal polish rather than actual Simichrome) and then a #1 polish from Anderson Pens.
