I lived nearby Royston for almost 17 years, and its a quiet but very loyal and mostly respectful place to be. For such a small town, the community does its best and I respect them for that. So easy to get to London, and Cambridge so very useful too. I come from Durham, and ended up in Royston from my army days, and met a lot of great people and characters from all of the area. The little villages surrounding Royston are mostly charming, and has so much character. The education seems very very good in Royston too, and the Town on the whole should be very proud of itself even though times has changed and the younger people in quite a few cases think its boring. Theres more to Royston than I thought and this video is great, cheers!

Darren Evenden hiya. Thanks for your comment. I do believe Royston is going downhill as well. I remember it as a thriving market town with busy market days. Wednesday used to be a good market day as they had an auction market there as well.
Best thing about Royston is the Heath. I’m up and down those hills every morning…great fun!

You should visit the Medway. Now that is a dump. Royston is paradise compared to that hell hole.
