      You're the best, Nigel! I'm not on here much, but when I do, I get my dose of that amazing Canadian.

    Awesome. I'm in PA here and I like that you have bonsai species that are not typical bonsai material.

      It's when we can use what's in our backyards. If you see American hornbeams, they're super easy and excellent specimens.

    OMG that dogwood has done really good. I remember the video when you collected it. That was actually the first video I saw of yours. It was a long time ago and I am so happy it's doing well. Great looking tree 😍

    I have never in my life seen Dogwood bonsai and had no idea that you could make bonsai from dogwood trees! How cool is that!? She’s beautiful

      It's nice that there are still surprises left in this world, isn't it! You can create bonsai out of most anything, it's just that some things are better suited than others. Thanks for the compliments!

      Some artists can also be a little snobby, or historical traditionalist about what can and can't be bonsai.

    Thanks for the update on the dogwood! I've got one that has a curved trunk and has been cut back several tiimes so it's about a foot tall but has a two inch trunk. I think it has some potential. Unfortunately things came up this spring and i'll have to wait until next year to try and dig it out. This is good inspiration to go for it!

  • @jerichomelvincentazarcon8030

  • @kroekerta

    I have a row of floridas that I need to get ramification improved on. I would love to find a picture of where to cut to get more leaves to pop out together. Any ideas?

    • @AppalachianBonsai
      @AppalachianBonsai  Рік тому +1

      I cut them much like you do a maple. The leaves are opposing, which makes for a good forked branch. However, you'll have loads of new shoots pop out from that juncture. You can utilize these or prune them off.
