100%, watching him go from BMX content to mentioning being interested in drifting was crazy. went from BMX content and working on the BMW and such to setting up the drift sim in his old house and introducing the S13. Every time i think of the S13 its around the time of it having the "just married" sticker on the rear glass.
This car has contributed to so many financial mistakes in my life 😅 but so many memories from watching videos in the garage to buying my first s13. So much love for this car and the channel ❤
@CompressorSurge sadly not, I started saving for it when I was 11 and got it at 14, my mom hated it and said I was gunna die if I ever got hit ( I live in texas so everything on the road is a lot bigger than a little ol s13. ) so she made me sell it, but I'm going to pick up an all original 93 hatch next Monday, so I'm pretty stoked about that 😁

The improvements in Ecu and tcu tech since the early 2000s are night and day. Link seems to do everything he needs and then some at a much lower cost than cyvex and motec.

You know what’s crazy?! The timing of this video… I just bought a project drift car for my 11 yr old and I to start going to beginner days with. He wanted to start watching all your first videos (first donut, first drift event, first tandem, first crash, first time you won an event, all the way until your S15 and then this video comes out! My 10 year old thinks you’re the best thing ever, he’s gotten pictures with you and Colette at a few events (he said Colette made his knees weak lol). I’m from the area and know the compound (we looked at buying it from the old dude before you) and he says “can we stop in and say hi to him?”. He’s 11 so there’s never privacy but it’s insane this video came out today since we were literally watching the whole playlist with this car in it the last few weeks before bed. Love seeing it! PS improve everything you can with it! It doesn’t need to stay the same - let it progress with it all the way from the first donut through today.
This cream s13 has such a special place in so many hearts. I learned about drifting through Adam and this car. The early days of the car content was so awesome. When they would take a break from the car and ride bmx in the back yard. It was awesome. I’d love to see him build another cream s13 with his today standards and be able to disregard nostalgia because this one will stay the way it is. It’d be interesting to see what would be different.
Ya I think he should make it as reliable and functional as possible but just keep it looking the same. Keep the same cream colour , same seats or seats that are red at least go back to the og cosmis wheels and slightly change the exhaust to not sticking out as much , or just cut circumcise the tip that’s on the car now.
While it may be uncessary, adam like stuff to look or be oem. If you watched the videos of him building this car or even any of his cars, he really likes his cars to be somewhat oem. This car still has half the interior somewhat stock but he gutted the back of it. @eriksimca9409

If a car not running properly is a flex, keep the MAF. My input is, it's been on the sidelines long enough. Give the car the love it needs and deserves. It's a staple of the channel for those of us that have watched since the beginning.
I commented that he should put the standalone screen in te lower deck of the radio, can make a pop out screen like some radios do to keep the stock look. Cause the none working speedometer is a part of the staple cause that shit hasn't worked in never 😂

I've got a 180 with an SR I used to grip race, but I popped the motor, and a whole bunch of other crap happen in my life at the same time, and it's been sitting in my shed in pieces for what must be at least 10 years now 😞 This is giving me the inspiration I need to get it back together, and do some skids

when ever u talk about Martin with RS empathy i think of him telling u dont know how to drive your r32 after u got it tuned at his shop then he drives your car, in sandals and clutch kicks it roasting the tires with u in the passenger seat and the look u had was priceless and he was just still sitting there with no expression on his face. but then u built z-roy and that made martin the monotone emotion of a person smile with joy as flames shot out the stacks. just epic videos!

what keeps the nostalgia of the car would have to be the body, paint and interior. all the mechanical bits that are old and crusty should be updated imo. i love this car and am always stoked to see it on the channel. just do a sick resto-mod and keep the look the same and call it a day🤙100% add the Link!
kinda crazy the way i started like many others watching Adam way back in the fisheye lens days hahaha, still remember watching the video of his mom in the s13, feels like it was only a year or two ago now but in reality it was a lot more than that, highly doubt you'll see this but from the whole community thank you Adam, I started watching you when I was a child now I've a son of my own on the way and even though I've drifted away (no pun intended) from the channel over time, upon coming back I'm glad to see your personality and character hasn't changed at all, cant wait to be sitting with my son watching your videos now as well keep doing what your doing❤
Man i love seeing this car, every time it comes out is an instant smile on my face. grew up watching you build this at your old house, and every time something went wrong you learned something new, This car has so much character and history. Its definitely your mono Lisa, and has to be the most iconic youtuber car ever. I Get what you mean with not knowing what to keep and change, Like i love the rasp it has (In my opinion is very iconic to this car). but link ecu would be sick, but stock ecu and maf is a flex, i think make most things modern. but keep the base character the same if that makes sense. (rough idle/start, raspy-ness) could even make it start rough with a new ecu and hollow out the maf so it looks like its still there so its still has that character trait but with much more tuning capabilities Just my two cents, love your videos have been a big fan for so long, and cant wait for part 2!!

fully agree, The cream color and the engine (besides forged/upgraded parts but that thing is already loaded) is really the only thing that cant be changed to keep the nostalgia and spirit to it. Oh and don't forget the frowny face steering wheel cap :)
I've been a subscriber since probably around 2015 or so. The days where he used to live in the apartments, only had the S13 and 335i. I've wanted an E92 since then, now I've graduated towards wanting an F80 but that's besides the point. Those nostalgic days were so good.

I've been watching you from your college days. Pretty please keep the changes to a minimum. There's a million cars you can make "2024 Adam perfect". This car is seriously OG, and she needs to stay that way. Clean her up, fix needed flaws, but leave the imperfections. Don't cover up where you came from. It has taken a lot of work to get to where you are today, and that car, just as it is, has been with you through it all. Don't change her too much.... please.

This car is literally the inspiration for my kouki s14 that i'm forging. It's the little things like the basketball in the rear 1/4 and your first donuts with Jimmy and drifting at Hoonigan that makes this car one of if not the most special car to most long time viewers

It is absolutely crazy to me watching Adam growing up I got my first BMX bike because of him. He taught me how to bunny hop watching him ride through Walmart for the BMX challenges watching him learn how to drift and get into FD truly inspired me into cars and forever be my favorite UA-camr
I suggest exterior wise, keeping it all the way it is, including interior because it's a sign it must say the way it is if the dash is not cracked, just fix the body kit a little, fix the alignment and fitting of the tyres, and keep the stock ECU but tidy up the engine bay to make it more workable and cleaner. This is a blast from the past, a car you'll look at 10 years from now and see how drifting was so different for you back in 2015. This is such a cool video, hats off to you

And when you got that s13 at first I was excited even though I was not really into cars. I got a little upset when you converted the channel from a "bmx channel" to a "car channel" but later on when I got my driver's license cars started getting more and more interesting to me (plus that my father has a machine shop and has always been into cars. My grand father (rest in peace) had always been trying to make cars interesting to me) and I actually started getting really excited about your builds and your progression. Damn I remember how crazy it felt when you got the compound... Man I was just waiting for a new vid just to see what you're gonna do there... I could keep talking about stuff that got me excited but the last thing I will say is: Do a refresh on the cream s13 and keep it in its original form as much as possible. Keep as much memories and nostalgia in it. Plus that it will make it easier to show your building progression by putting this car next to your newest build. If I were you I would even keep the stuff I don't like in it just to keep it original. Keep it up bro! You're living the dream!

I’ve genuinely been watching for about 8 or 9 years now, imo do as you wish with the cream S13, as long as you’re happy with the end result I’m confident enough to say we’ll all be happy with it too!
fully agree, The cream color and the engine (besides forged/upgraded parts but that thing is already loaded) is really the only thing that cant be changed to keep the nostalgia and spirit to it. Oh and don't forget the frowny face steering wheel cap :)

I've been a subscriber since probably around 2015 or so. The days where he used to live in the apartments, only had the S13 and 335i. I've wanted an E92 since then, now I've graduated towards wanting an F80 but that's besides the point. Those nostalgic days were so good.
I haven’t watched an Adam Lz video since prob pre 2020, but man I clicked on this video so fast and it’s like I never left. Same good vibes, same silly jokes, same goofy personality from Adam.

I've been watching you from your college days. Pretty please keep the changes to a minimum. There's a million cars you can make "2024 Adam perfect". This car is seriously OG, and she needs to stay that way. Clean her up, fix needed flaws, but leave the imperfections. Don't cover up where you came from. It has taken a lot of work to get to where you are today, and that car, just as it is, has been with you through it all. Don't change her too much.... please.
I miss seeing you drive this. I remember when you rebuilt it about 6 years ago and where so excited about it. I'm glad to see how excited you are about having it back.

This car is literally the inspiration for my kouki s14 that i'm forging. It's the little things like the basketball in the rear 1/4 and your first donuts with Jimmy and drifting at Hoonigan that makes this car one of if not the most special car to most long time viewers

Even though my name has bmx in it, I was always a car guy first. Watching you guys have fun with this car and rip it around the south of the border parking lot made me instantly interested in your vids.

It is absolutely crazy to me watching Adam growing up I got my first BMX bike because of him. He taught me how to bunny hop watching him ride through Walmart for the BMX challenges watching him learn how to drift and get into FD truly inspired me into cars and forever be my favorite UA-camr
I suggest exterior wise, keeping it all the way it is, including interior because it's a sign it must say the way it is if the dash is not cracked, just fix the body kit a little, fix the alignment and fitting of the tyres, and keep the stock ECU but tidy up the engine bay to make it more workable and cleaner. This is a blast from the past, a car you'll look at 10 years from now and see how drifting was so different for you back in 2015.

Stock ECU is the biggest flex. Keep it, it gives the car the spirit it always had.

The car will always be nostalgic no matter what you do. If it was my car though I’d freshen up the engine and the drivetrain and just keep everything like the interior ,paint and body the way it is.
I have had a couple really stuck vice grips from over tightening. The hammer trick is a wicked one to get them free. Thanks👍🏼

Dude. I remember when you bought that car. I've been watching your videos for almost 11 years. I remember your bmx days... And when you got that s13 at first I was excited even though I was not really into cars. I got a little upset when you converted the channel from a "bmx channel" to a "car channel" but later on when I got my driver's license cars started getting more and more interesting to me (plus that my father has a machine shop and has always been into cars. My grand father (rest in peace) had always been trying to make cars interesting to me) and I actually started getting really excited about your builds and your progression.
Damn I remember how crazy it felt when you got the compound... Man I was just waiting for a new vid just to see what you're gonna do there... I could keep talking about stuff that got me excited but the last thing I will say is:
Do a refresh on the cream s13 and keep it in its original form as much as possible. Keep as much memories and nostalgia in it. Plus that it will make it easier to show your building progression by putting this car next to your newest build. If I were you I would even keep the stuff I don't like in it just to keep it original.

The cream s13 is literally one of the only SR's that I like the sound of. It's so rowdy and fast revving. It always gave me rotary vibes.
