LOL in Ensemble Oscar Expert: going off about Dune 2 getting in. Brother Bro: *quietly* “they didn’t do Dune 1” Oscar Expert: “they didn’t?” Immediate cut away 😂
I have a feeling that Demi Moore is either going to be snubbed at the Oscars Amy Adams-Arrival style or go all the way and win the whole thing or be the close runner-up. She may win the Globe over Madison and Erivo and even Critics Choice. SAG could also be between her and Erivo.
Pay attention to the Director nominees. It will likely narrow down who wins based on the precursor nominations stats. Globes started the process with the field of 6.
the way you two don’t consider Fernanda Torres in the best actress category, and she easily has a better performance than most of the supposed nominees
Critic Choice não costumam apoiar filmes internacionais e mesmo nos grupos regionais da crítica Ainda Estou Aqui tá ficando de fora em vários na categoria de filme internacional
@@emanueldantas8289 theyre different awards bodies so they wont necessarily correlate. theyre not biased against her performance theyre analyzing data and what they think is the most likely based on stats and wins from critics groups this year so far
I think it’s very strange that Critics Choice usually prefer populist films over international movies or small productions. I feel like it’s the opposite of what they should do. The Oscar is way ahead of them. Last year not nominating “Anatomy of a fall” and “The zone of interest” was awful. I don’t expect much better now.
The critics in Critics Choice are so called critics, not actual critics. They are not like Cinephile people exploring all the films out there, they just a bunch of lazy people just want to please industry people to stay in the good books of big studios. That's why they nominate big popular films.
Guys, I'm watching the awards predictions in your channel since 2020 and this season it's been the most confusing and difficult to predict. I don't know about the previous years tho, but 2024 is hell
One strange anamoly to consider is that oftentimes the fifth slot for a supporting actor nom at the Oscars shows up at CC, sometimes as the only precursor. I don't know why, it doesn't really make sense, but something to consider. America Ferrea, Michael Shannon and Bryan Tyree are all examples of this.
CC ceremony usually happens during oscars nomination voting so maybe some actors fill their ballots with people nominated at CC because of recency bias
A complete unknown will be the Elvis of this year. Possibly eight nominations, a director snub and a different actor winning best actor. A nomination guaranteed for Chalamet. And no wins.
It makes sense... I believe is WAY better than Elvis but, come on; The Brutalist and Conclave and even Sing Sing are way more concrete to have their actors shining
@jesusangelespinosasalgado9430 If Clarence Maclin is snubbed, it will be bad news for that film. I haven't even seen it, but I hope it gets in cuz it sounds incredible
I think Dune will win Score at Critics Choice. Critics Choice like giving awards to films in categories where they were disqualified (Tar and Birdman for Score) or not shortlisted (Oppenheimer for Visual Effects and Barbie for Makeup). They kinda like sticking it to the Oscars.
Elliott Heffernan is actually a really good pick for Young Actor. If that film wasn't so done everywhere else, I'd consider him to be the frontrunner here.
If Moore or the actually best reviewed performances by Torres or Jean-Baptiste win in the end would be amazing. Especially since everyone is turning their heads away from Baptiste who could have been the second best actress winner and make history. Pundits and journalists refused to support her and give her the visibility during this season. The same then cry about how Oscars are incorrect but they themselves are partly responsible for buzzing bad revived white Oscar bait films (Maria, September 5, Complete Unknown etc) over better reviewed films with actually diversity. The woman is just there with mesmerizing reviews but I guess like Monique said they don't like that she would represent that and they are searching for a better Messenger which is stupid and just will take them even more time to find that right person.Maybe Erivo is the one, but that would be weird since her reviews while great are not on the others level and Grande seems to be the standout from the same film (think Zellweger and Zeta Jones in Chicago).
I could see The Substance do bad here because of it's AFI miss. I don't think missing AFI is detrimental (since they never go 10/10, only once 10/11. The Substance wasn't a clear Oscar contender when Critics Choice was voting. They may not have gone for it for that reason. Anatomy and Zone missed which also had more international appeal. Another international film like Emilia Perez will be fine because it is clearly a top 3-4 contender even with American audiences (that's why American Film Institute went for it)
People who want The Expert to do dramatic representations of the nominated performances for every acting category (as demonstrated around 20:00) make some noise😂
So basically the Critics Choice votes more like the old Golden Globes predicting what will be nominated at the Oscars and the Golden Globes vote more like the critics! Got it! 😂😂😂
For Young Actor what about Kit Connor for The Wild Robot? Its a voice role sure, but hes 20 (so hes young enough) plus it was a big movie that is already doing pretty welll .
I have a feeling that Dune part 2 is going to be snubbed. They take every chance they can get to snub Denis Villeneuve because he's not a safe pic. They'll take every chance they can get to snub the substance in possibly every category except for makeup and acting because it's a horror film, that of which the academy hates with a burning passion. They weren't always like this, silence of the lambs is one of the best films of all time and one of the only horror films to be nominated let alone win best picture. If it's not experimental like everything everywhere all at once or in a type of genre they enjoy, it won't be considered a favorite amongst Academy voters. Fascinating how that works. I also believe June part 2 might be wiped in terms of technical category wins and nominations because it's a sequel that shred similar territory and similar themes of the original, which already won eight Academy Awards and was nominated for screenplay. I have a feeling they're just going to go this route, we'll have to wait and see when they get announced.
In their attempt to make young actors feel noticed I think it could have the negative effect of making those not noticed feel pretty hurt and discouraged.
If kids from horror films can get nominated for the Young Artist award, why not Dan Hough from Speak No Evil? He was incredible, playing a character who doesn't speak but has very emotional and intense scenes, the ending works because of him, and he's definitely under 21.
I just need to say, because I don’t hear anyone talking about it, that there is a possibility that Ariana Grande will get back to back supporting actress Oscar nominations for playing the same character, if she gets in for Wicked Part 2. Has that ever happened?
So sad, but yes. It’s extra disappointing for me because I didn’t love Dune but it got so many techs (even with the Denis snub). And this year I LOVED Dune 2, it is better in everything, but it’s not gonna get a lot and still snub denis.
Unlike Barbie, wicked Awards campaign is ever going and it's the kind of films the academy adores. Emilia Perez might be getting praise, but even the hell is that I've seen the film agree that structurally, Wicked is the superior musical. It's doing better in critical guilds and its Awards wins so far are more important for its campaign. The awards campaign is going to be going all the way through the films theatrical release, which is until March 31st of 2025. So they're pulling all sequel promotional campaign even after the super bowl because the film is going to be everywhere for the awards season and it's difficult for Awards voters to escape it. It's just a film they love so much.

Idk something tells me Cynthia is gonna be the upset and win the Oscar. I mean I want her to lll
I'm predicting Demi to miss at the moment. I'm still betting on Jean-Baptiste for the win.
Adam isn't winning anything but
What about Mikey? Though, she's winning the majority of the awards right now.

please god...Fernanda Torres needs to be nominated.
that would be crazy for the CC to do, they just don't nominate international performances sadly

The way you explained the actors’ performances is hilarious 😂
Pay attention to the Director nominees. It will likely narrow down who wins based on the precursor nominations stats. Globes started the process with the field of 6.
Torres will be honored at The Critic's Choice. Maybe that alone will warrant a nomination.
The Substance just got Editors nomination. So at oscars, The Substance might get editing besides Makeup and other above the line categories.
Dune is winning editing
I can’t believe they snubbed The Brutalist. This awards are the worst ones.
I'm predicting 8 noms... Should be 10 if they throw sound as well but it's building strong ❤

The critics choice love nominating everyone
