It's reputation is "it used to be way too op so they nerfed it and now it sucks" But in reality, it's still a great weapon. It's fast, the dmg is great, and the passive bleed is very good if you level up arcane. And if you're like me and use a katana build, the extra range from Corpse Piler is huge. From a pvp standard, it's just as good as any other katana, but you're better off with something like the nagakiba.
