Everything you’ve mentioned including your brain finally clicking is soo accurate. I’m on week 2 post mirena and for the entire 5 years that I spent on it I was worried that this cloudiness I was experiencing was due to some underlying condition (I legit asked for an MRI, I was desperate for a definitive reason). Now after feeling the difference personally as well as hearing your experience all I can say is how relieved I truly am. I’m excited to be myself again.

Life With Suki yes it’s a feeling which is hard to describe. But I never felt “all there” when I had it in. And the weight gain !!!! Ugh ! It was just soooo hard to lose any weight while on mirena. It’s such a convenient form of b/c I really wish the side effects weren’t so off putting

Reeeeally hoping this is what happens to me. Just got it out today! 3 years of constant bleeding and fatigue. 😭

Crazy you mentioned the breast thing. I just got my mirena out yesterday. For the last 6 months my breasts have been so sore, i even got 2 ultrasounds and a mammogram (at 31 they usually dont even do those). The second ultrasound showed a very small benign cyst, but the dr said "oh no mirena doesn't cause any symptoms outside the localized area", but we know cystic breasts can be related to an increase in progesterone. He also never related my iud having any relation to my major anxiety that has gotten worse since insertion 4.5 years ago. Anyway having the IUD removed was very painful but I am actually looking forward to letting my body find its natural rhythm again.

Oh my gosh YES! I’m glad you mentioned the breast soreness… I’ve had that the past couple of days, which interestingly enough I just started experiencing yesterday. I had mine removed yesterday afternoon, soreness started yesterday morning and I’m still feeling it right now but hopefully that will dissipate. I already feel less inflamed in my body. Had a BIG stomach pooch while having it and that’s getting better. I had had it for 5 years on my first one and only had this one in for a mo and wanted it out. I’ve experienced the brain fog, acne on my face and female parts, cramping and bloating and sharp pains/ dull sharp pains as if it was sitting on a nerve or something. The removal was quick and painless unlike the placement which was VERY painful. Had constant bleeding with it in unlike the last time where I didn’t have any except for the first 3 days of getting it in. Feel so much better now that it’s out, thank you Jesus. How long did it take for the breast soreness to go away?

Thank you so much for this video. Gives me hope. I just removed mine after 12 years on mirena. Everything u said. I was going through. My boobs hurt so so bad for years!! N my doctor constantly told me everything I was experiencing is not relatable to the iud. Bunch of horse shit.

I had my IUD taken out a week ago because I was full of serious anxiety, had horrible pain in my breast also and a random dr that did my pap smear told me I wasn't even going through menopause ( I'm 53) but was told by another Dr I was going through menopause 8 years ago but my iud covers symptoms anyway I chose to remove iud asap...my brain fog is gone and felt great immediately...week later was feeling happy and laughing 😃 I have had a few iud for solid 22 years. I'm trying to figure out why my cervix is so low...I feel like it's falling out. 😩 anyway I've lost weight and stomach feeling good. Overall I do feel better. Hope you are too.

I know it is 4 years now but can you please give us an update? I got mine out yesterday. I had really bad social anxiety, gained 50 lbs on it in 3 years and didn’t change anything about my diet or exercise so I got it out.

Can you talk more about why you were doing a liver detox? I’m also doing one, as prescribed from a session of hydro colonic therapy & I also just took out my Mirena so this really piqued my interest.

I just had my IUD removed this morning. I just woke up at 3am and I'm having pretty intense body aches. Has anyone experienced this?

I had major symptoms with my hormonal birth control: anxiety, fatigue and foggy head. I had missed a month of my life before I had it taken out. I got it taken out this week and have been feeling depressed and impatient. I am also during a liver detox. Were you feeling emotional after a week? I feel like I’ve been doing everything I can for my mental health like staying active eating better and meditating and therapy.

OMG YES - super emotional the week after. I was like "what is happening ..." The liver detox helped a LOT. And honestly, the first few periods my moods were a bit off, but now (6 months later) I'm feeling pretty good!

Omg!! I’ve always had large breast but I also experienced tender/sore breast I didn’t relate it to the IUD but it’s highly likely I had the mirena for 10yrs just for it removed 3days ago

    • @JessieDeschane

So I was taking Spironolactone because I got really bad acne when I started the mirena. I ended up quitting the Spironolactone a few months after I had my Mirena out. I get a little bit of hormonal acne near my period, but nothing crazy!
