    i think this is false for people who play volleyball, most of college players mainly train for the sole purpose of increasing their vertical jump.

      Will is talking about training to improve just a countermovement jump, in volleyball we want to have the highest reach from an approach jump while you may be required to change direction during the runup. Swing blocking itself is a separate technique which is even further removed from a CMJ

      Why would a volleyball player train for the sole purpose of improving vertical jump, without the context of applying it to volleyball?
