This is our version of trying our best - these days. All the things you do. All the ways you try. A lot of these things I don’t always feel like doing yet I push myself to give it my all - sometimes out of mom guilt, sometimes creative ways just to waste time and get through the day, sometimes out of joy and desire, but all on little sleep and barely time for myself/ourselves. Sacrifice. Love. Giving it our all and yet, still coming up short. Knowing no matter how hard I try I will never fill them completely - accepting that and still trying to make their lives a little bit more magical. This is our version, you have your own, but even though we have different ways of “giving it our all” knowing we’ll never be ALL they need - we all have this in common. We try. We love them. We’re tired. We’re stretched. We fail. We don’t have all the answers. We make it up as we go. We surprise ourselves. We let ourselves down. We let them down. We try to make up for it. We make them laugh. They make us laugh. We make them cry. They make us cry. We cry in the shower. We cry in front of them and tell them we’re just laughing so hard we cried and just like groundhogs day, we repeat this all over again, everyday & night because we care about them so. We fail, because we’re all flawed. But we try and try again, because that’s how much we love them. That’s proof enough of your love for them. May god/others fill them where we fail them. May we give ourselves credit for how we fill them. May we each rest easier at night knowing that they are loved. This video is evidence of that and meant to remind you too because I know the adventure you’re giving them/trying to give them comes out of an abundance of love and also an abundance of sacrifice my friends. As we try to give it our all, may we also try being kinder to ourselves and our expectations of ourselves too.
