20:40 Ok, so I went and looked up this cover and zoomed in all around it and I honestly have no clue what you’re talking about or what bothers you about it lol.
You can see certain parts of the woman’s anatomy on the cover, to put it mildly. It doesn’t really come through on the video, but in person it’s very clearly drawn.
@@jonathankoanMy goodness dude…you need to get out more and live a little. If that cover makes you uncomfortable then you got a long road ahead of you. I don’t think the author, the publisher, or the illustrator appreciate your totally off base sentiment here.
@@NerdishlyActive well, I mean, I get that the publisher and author and artist might be ok with this type of stuff on the book cover, but there are people who have similar worldviews as me who are uncomfortable with this stuff, so for us it’s not off base, and I always want to be honest in my assessment of the books I purchase or receive, and I know that publishers do appreciate honesty in reviewers. But it will probably be a losing battle for me in todays culture. Prudes don’t usually win out anymore.
I bought some Simon R. Green books last year, the Deathstalker series, but might be a while to get to them. I hope you read yours soon, I would be interested to know what you think of it.
I read The Silverblood Promise in May and thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next entry in the series. I also just picked up Lord of a Shattered Land but have yet to read it.
Hey Jonathan, since you said you have been branching out and trying to get into different genres, I have a middle grade recommendation for you. Percy Jackson and the Olympians are really fun books that deal with what if Greek mythology was real and in modern times. I'm not sure how much you'd enjoy the Greek mythology aspect, but from what I have seen of your videos and what I remember of the series I think you would enjoy it.
Jonathan, am I right in saying you're Christian? Have you ever thought about doing a video about your faith and how that influences your reading/or vice versa at all? I feel like that could be really interesting...
I don't he's Christian, he discussed books with Christian elements in them. Talks about them like they're unfamiliar to him so yea don't think he's Christian
I am a Christian. I have thought about this type of video, but I wonder what controversy and discussion it would create, so I haven’t made it yet, but I’m not totally opposed to it.
