Hey y’all I was black in this game! This is my second time playing and losing to Dylan lol. My biggest misplay was definitely not going for the city and buying 2 devs. I disagree with the brick port being the worse settle vs the wheat as all game the 8 wheat was getting blocked and red kept robbing me thinking I was a bigger threat than Dylan :( c’est La vie though apparently even highish rank players sleep on ows
I actually agree with you on the wheat port. Even while watching, when Dylan mentioned that I knew exactly why you didn't settle there, as the 8 wheat was really your only source it was blocked CONSTANTLY. Well played regardless :)
At 10:45 I think the right move is to 4:1 the sheep for a brick since it's a rare resource that no one will trade you for less than 3 cards. It allows you to road up to the grain port with your otherwise useless wood and shuts down black's road building play, forcing him to contest you for the settle from his 8-3 settlement which also loses him road. Sure you have 4 fewer sheep, but they otherwise just clog your hand and at this point you've already lost army. The entire rest of the dev card game is going to be catch up with red since you built two cities initially, which means you need to secure as many good settlement spots as possible while plowing strong opponents like black by roading to the grain port.
With hindsight bias, he places the road and then gets plowed with road builder. Devs and getting army is much better.
I agree with this. I would of built the road just to stop the plow

Will do this eventually. I'm just out traveling so it's harder to do so
How come this guy always get so good rolls? In last 5 games I had:
- port of 8 and 5 and 8 rolled 2 times in whole game
- 9 and 10 wood and brick and I couldn't make road for 20 rounds. Ended up with longest road=2.
- got robbed for 21 cards while my opponents got robbed 8 cards alltogether
- had best fields from 4-10 and still got outrolled by others
- had both good wood and brick and lost road vs guy with only wood
This is like 75% + of the games. Can't do nothing about it. Cause its rolls or gangbang on me. This games looks rigged. It woulnd't if it happened like 50% of times +-. But its vast majority of games.
And this guy always get like 30 points after win. I get 19 if its good day.

In the beginning, why not picking 8 4 3?
My guess is 8 4 10 slightly higher production and he anticipated getting good sheep in his second placement (pretty heavy sheep board);
I know sometimes Dylan goes full ham OWS only. Maybe he is tiring of the three resource strat. It can be very hard to move if you’re having to trade or port for both road materials and maybe he wasn’t sure he’d be getting any road mats coming back?

why does first position take 5 8 10 ? I thougth first takes 4 8 10. To have the wood instat of 2 grain.

@@lawrencecobb2107the problem is on the UA-cam app on phones, you see the top comment once you click on the video. I mean obviously you could say “just don’t look” but that’s easier said than done
Unfortunately, on mobile the top comment is shown automatically. It's very annoying. UA-cam should change it. But in the meantime, it's nice to not have spoilers be the top comment.

It’s just a habit the spoiler complainer has to break of looking at that top comment, until UA-cam fixes it.
