so I just got finished with this exact repair using the exact same parts and same car. Headsup for all your youtubers that aren't expert mechanics, he makes things look much easier then they are. Took me a long time popping off the wood grain to access the screws and putting the entire door panel back on took about an hour of intense practice and frustration because all the wiring was a little short and everything had to be lined up perfectly but that being said the handle removal and replacement was by far the easiest part once everything was removed. Probably took me maybe 5 minutes to do the repair. The hard part was taking off everything and putting it back together. Thanks for the video! Really helped me out and saved me lots of money and was so tired of that sticky handle!

6 minutes video doesn't mean 6 minutes job.
There's always some obstacles during the work.
Anyway satisfaction is big and money saved in the pocket.

I was little afraid to change the handle myself but it turned out to be pretty easy. Thanks....

    Thank you very much! Brilliant!!
I was asked £75 by two garages to get the job done, looked at your video and did it myself. I owe you a beer.

The rear door panel is not like the front, there are not 3 screws securing the panel, but 4. You give no advice or even show re-mounting the panel onto the door frame. Thank you for helping me damage my door panel. Next time, please don't post misleading, incomplete or wrong instructions.

I just bought some handle cover trims online.
The two parts simply clip over the original handle and fit really well.
The hardest part was opening the packaging

Thank you sir. I didn't realize my sticky driver side handle was a common problem, I thought something weird happened to my car when I bought it. Gonna buy this handle and also using your video on the blower motor removal to replace mine

i heard that as soon as he finished the fix and pulled down the street the bmw turbo went out, the car threw 8 sensor codes and the gasket went bad. he had that fixed for 8k. then discovered that the dash was melting. he fixed that and then the car threw 20 more sensor codes. he mortgaged his house to fix the codes. the car threw 30 more codes..............

This was so helpful. WIth the right trim tool, it only took 15 minutes. It helps to have a low platform like a milk crate to rest the door on when you reconnect the inner wires and door handle pull.

My aftermarket pieces did not come with screws or rivets. I’m giving up on this and not going to take it off if putting it back on will cause me pain. Just going to do the outer part of the bar and call it a day

This will not work for e92 or e93, so be advised. The cover will not snap back into place.
If you have e92 or 93, then you will have to drill out the old handle carefully, sand the handle, paint with plastic bonding paint and use washers to re-attach the old handle. I learned this the hard way as I also ordered the amazon replacements and ended up wasting an entire day trying to make it fit the cover.

So you were able to drill the old handle out of the door panel ? My dealership says that the handle is actually part of the door panel and cannot be separated. Do you think there are separate handles just for our E92s ? I am looking for a solution to my 08 E92 Beige interior.

I'm not a mechanic. Good video. Mine looks and works great! Took me 30 minutes and $15 new handle + $7 new clips. Thanks! Some of my 10-year-old plastic bolt clips broke when I removed the "wood" trim. Fortunately. Amazon sells a bag for $7 dollars. I suggest only using plastic ($1 putty knife) to pry the "wood" trim and door panel. If it does not pop easily, use a flashlight to look in all of the holes for a T20 screw still in place. I left all of the wires (speaker & idk what the others are) connected while I replaced the handle. I used a 99 Cent Store rubber mallet to pop the clips back into the door frame. I had a T20 screwdriver and a 3/8" drill bit already.

Just did mine! Thanks for the video. Hardest parts for me were drilling out the plastic, and getting the door back on.

Has ANYONE tried doing this on a BMW 328i Coupe AKA E92 ? The leather exterior part of the pull can be replaced but this inner plastic part seems to be part of the door panel and dealer is saying that I must replace the entire panel ! Anyone with any information please share!

The wood looking trim piece came off my drivers door on my 2008 335XI E90 sedan and I can't seem to get it to snap back into place. I can get the part facing the dash to snap in place, but the last few clips towards the other end of the door, especially the last hook on the very end of the trim piece, won't snap. Any pointers. Thanks.

This handle offers absolutely zero operational necessity. I was able to use my flat bar to yank it after I got the screws out without taking the panel off.

Did this yesterday, handle I got didn’t have the hardware and the tabs going through to back of door were too long. Instead of using job weld I put my poker in the fire and melted the tabs down like stock was! Holding strong so far!

I would advise that you buy clips before hand to change them out. The clips on the door are plastic and easy to break, I broke four between the two rear doors.
