It’s kinda embarrassing seeing how many people watch me cry and the mixed emotions I was feeling now that people are moving and starting back up their life again. (I didn’t think this video would peak lol.) The trip was mentally/physically draining but I wouldn’t trade it for the world, it lead me to where I am now and I have absolutely loved the move. @@joycegayden44 it was really good I made it here in 3 days only stopped for gas , to use the restroom and to stretch my legs. I enjoyed being able to jam out to the music I wanted and only having to stop when I needed. It was emotionally challenging in the beginning bc I’ve always been dependent upon my parents for many things . I did lock my keys in the car at one of the stops I made but I got it sorted fairly quickly. I bought a taser before leaving as a form of defense since I was on the road alone and staying in hotels alone as a young woman. I recommend taking at least one solo road trip.

I think it's really touching that you were willing to show your emotional vulnerability to the world of UA-cam. I think most if not all of us watching this are rooting for you. Big moves and big changes are always scary and exciting and it's natural to be feeling those emotions, especially if you're going it alone and you're alone with your thoughts swimming inside your head. I did most of this same drive you did in December 2020; I went from Texas to California. It was also extremely emotional for me because I didn't really want to move. I didn't cry _during_ the drive though - I made sure to get all my crying (more like bawling really) done the night before!!! 😅 😭 But yeah it was nice to see the same parts I drove through. Yes I remember the Border Patrol checkpoint (to catch illegal immigrants who have already crossed the border), and the signs warning about dust storms (I think that's probably more of a summer time problem though? Nothing like that happened when I drove). Also I think it's both awesome and crazy that you pulled over to take pictures at each state's welcome sign! I always take a picture from the moving car when I pass the sign but it seems a bit risky to pull over and then have to get back up to speed on the freeway lol.
I knew I wanted to document it because it is such a big change, and I just wanted it for memories haha but so glad where my life is now ever since this video!

Going for a roadtrip this spring from illinois to either colorado/salt lake city. just so I can go hiking. I don't also have someone to come with me 😅 I'm so excited but feeling nervous at the same time. lol did you sleep in a hotel each stop?
ahhh that’s so exiting, I’m so happy to have places around me to hike now. There’s something so nice and peaceful about traveling on your own, you definitely have to entertain yourself somehow or you’ll be in your head haha. Yes I slept in a hotel each stop but I would have smaller stops to find a nice one in a known area. Airbnb would’ve been cheaper but my timing to get to each spots were way off so I never knew where I would be by a certain time I wanted to stop driving.
i love it here, it’s definitely overwhelming sometimes but comparing to where I use to live, it’s so much better. More things to do and people here inspire me so much
Just stumbled upon this gem of a video... your personality reminds me of one of my besties so I felt all the vibes like you were one of my besties! I'm here in Texas and couldn't help but laugh at all the Texas comments. :) We also have border patrol stops in Texas and they aren't right by the border so I'm sure that's what New Mexico does too. Puts a stop a distance away from the actual border. :)
Hey, I know this vid is a bit old. But, I’m having trouble finding routes. I’m driving from NC to back home in California alone.. any tips? Did you get your car maintenance? How did you find your route?
please pray for me , this will be my 2nd 12 hr drive alone plus a kitty :) , my first time didn’t go so well (the drive was smooth) it’s just some man followed me to my car and tried to get in and wouldn’t go away for a while 5 mins and no one helped. so that’s the only thing i’m worried about. getting out to use the bathroom
About to drive to Georgia with someone, leave them there then come back alone . I did a trip to Florida alone before but this time its hitting different, especially cuz covid and worries about finding bathrooms
I am doing a very similar journey getting out of shitty Mobile Alabama and moving to Denver next week. Love LA too but was a little too expensive for now!

You can see on the map the little dotted lines where each state ends and usually as you pass it you’ll see the sign so I stop, also if you Google you can also probably see it better too
This made me cry n laugh because the other side of the highway that would be something I'll do 😂😂😂😂 but this makes me very excited because I'm in TN wanting to move to los Angeles in next July after my bday I'm Soo ready

Omggggg I’m going though the same . I’m driving and moving in two weeks . You’re video is helping me
Ahhhhhh I’m excited for you!! moving has been the best decision I could’ve made.
I'm here now. Just adjust. Taking it all in. I got stuck in the snow and all
Doing this again next weekend - Vegas to NYC 😅
I’m a girl not a boy, so i watched many of this roadtrips and none of them was good, i saw u an it wa so fun watching it an i felt really bad 😭
When ur in New Mexico and they stop you do they just ask for I.D. or they search ur car?
no they didn’t search my car nor ask for ID. Just asked if I was a US citizen and I said yes lol
I’m going from Michigan to Cali , did you have to drive in the mountains cause I’m nervous abt that ?
no I don’t think I did but the scenery is beautiful regardless!
I wanna drive to Vegas from Texas 😩 I’m scared too. I hate driving the highway but it would be more convenient to drive
Just force yourself to do it!! it is especially if you’re bringing alot of stuff, and cheaper then to have your car delivered to you
I’m from alabama too, I know I need the culture shock of leaving and want to go out west. Thanks for the motivation : ,)
You got this!
I’m trying to leave California for Alabama 😂😂 can’t wait for the road trip
lol good luck on it!
Im thinking about moving out to LA too! I love your vibe and your energy itself, after being there for a while, do you like it?
i love it here, it’s definitely overwhelming sometimes but comparing to where I use to live, it’s so much better. More things to do and people here inspire me so much
@@luhnanh Stoked to hear that you like it, Maybe i’ll just say fuck it and leave next week
Just stumbled upon this gem of a video... your personality reminds me of one of my besties so I felt all the vibes like you were one of my besties! I'm here in Texas and couldn't help but laugh at all the Texas comments. :)
We also have border patrol stops in Texas and they aren't right by the border so I'm sure that's what New Mexico does too. Puts a stop a distance away from the actual border. :)
Awww I'm glad! And that makes so much sense omg
Any tips for me? Im driving from Florida to Texas alone and im scared stiff. Any advice? Id need to stop a few times for my pets
You are so funny!!! I know it was emotional for you but you made me laugh explaining your anxiety and your teddy bear🙈😻so cute!!!
Awww haha I look back at this video and some of that stuff made me cringe and laugh so hard because it’s so embarrassing!!
Hey, I know this vid is a bit old. But, I’m having trouble finding routes. I’m driving from NC to back home in California alone.. any tips? Did you get your car maintenance? How did you find your route?
You’re amazing I wish i could do this
Tbh Texas sucks, it’s so confusing, even to someone like me a truck driver it’s insane and I hate it. You did so well working through it!
I feel like it’s prob more confusing than California! 😂
@@luhnanh I would agree to that lmao. Glad you made it safely though! 💕
please pray for me , this will be my 2nd 12 hr drive alone plus a kitty :) , my first time didn’t go so well (the drive was smooth) it’s just some man followed me to my car and tried to get in and wouldn’t go away for a while 5 mins and no one helped. so that’s the only thing i’m worried about. getting out to use the bathroom
I’ve had 3 Thirty Hour Road Trips
3 Hotels,
Total of 90
oh wow.. I couldnt tbh
You did a great job❤
Jesus is with you and all of us He loves us
Thank you so much!!! I needed this, God bless you 🙏
About to drive to Georgia with someone, leave them there then come back alone . I did a trip to Florida alone before but this time its hitting different, especially cuz covid and worries about finding bathrooms
have a safe trip!! the bathrooms were all fine and open when I went :)
Where are you going from?
I am doing a very similar journey getting out of shitty Mobile Alabama and moving to Denver next week. Love LA too but was a little too expensive for now!
Anywhere is better than Mobile Alabama hahaha. Excited for you, good luck with everything
what type of phone/camera mount did you use to capture road footage
I use a canon g7x mark ii but I actually didn’t have a mount my car has a little place I can put my camera on but it slides pretty often
When the rain get too hard, just do what the cars ahead are doing…calm down, slow down, get in the slow lane, and put on your flashers.
Try that where I’m from
I’m driving from Louisiana to California soon..what state takes the most time to cross?
Seeing u go through El Paso is my daily drive basically 😂 and u went through customs because we are really close to Mexico
Makes sense haha omg!!
this video helped me alot i want to move to CA fro PA and want to road trip there
Did you go yet? I’m going from Pittsburgh to San Diego next month.
@@nadogrl yes I went last summer
@@nadogrl it was good but recommend a spacish car
Oh wow I live in mobile and taking this trip in a few months thanks
ahhhh what! im excited for you! :)
I live in Alabama too! I desperately want to go to California in the future
To hell with GPS,there's no way I would ever use that crap, back in the day we used our brains and never got lost ever, what the hell, I really felt bad for her,my son had the nerve to ask me how did we get around without a GPS and I told him to go home!
How do you know where to stop for the signs? My dog and I will be making this trip in June
You can see on the map the little dotted lines where each state ends and usually as you pass it you’ll see the sign so I stop, also if you Google you can also probably see it better too
@@luhnanh thank you! I
How many border checks did u have to go thru on your way to Cali from Alabama
It was honestly just thar one!! I think it’s Bc the route I took is also near Mexico but I may be wrong.
@@luhnanh You are correct. California has 8 checkpoints. Interstate 5 has one 60 miles or so North of the border. ❤️ from San Diego.
Think I watched this like 5 times lol. That going to me this summer 😂
omg hahaha. It’ll be the best thing you’ll do for yourself!!! keep me posted if you want to
Going to be me hopefully after graduation. Hope to land a great job there! #manifesting
Manifesting for you
This made me cry n laugh because the other side of the highway that would be something I'll do 😂😂😂😂 but this makes me very excited because I'm in TN wanting to move to los Angeles in next July after my bday I'm Soo ready

How did u get a Cali plate and ur license?
I made a UA-cam video on how to!! :)
@@luhnanh I watched it last night thank you, did u get ur license card yet ?
@@taeWRLD- I did that too! Very easy to do than license plate haha
Love that Southern Accent.
How fun! What did you like most about your California road trip? I love to travel as well and invite you to follow my journey!
I think just reading Texas, I’ve never been and just seeing how big the city can be. it was long but I loved seeing the mountains towards the end too!
I'm about to make a solo trip from Dallas. 20 hours. Did you get any anxiety from the actual driving? I feel like I'll have a damn panic attack when I get on long stretches of road in the middle of nowhere
Are you kidding? Watch the video.🤯
@@nadogrl haha what?? I ended up conquering my fear of flying so I didn't do the roadie
Jus stumbled on ur vid was interesting & cool I'm thinking of making the drive from Beaumont Texas to San Luis Obispo county California I left Bakersfield California to Texas earlier this year due to a death n the family but wanna go back to Cali Texas is bllaahh!!🤪🤙
