there's a 6th way to style switch that I find to be very practical, which is bash switching. the way to execute it is to hold the melee input when shield bashing and release the block button at the right timing. this method, dodge attack switching and parry switching are the most useful in actual combat scenarios imo clip for reference: ua-cam.com/video/TdwlTzbc74o/v-deo.html

Agreed, Brother. I often played fighting games growing up so finding a deeper understanding to mechanics within the games' systems is something I always look for. 🙏
Love this weapon. I often use the speed stance for closing distance and getting sneaky hits in before a parry or gunstrike. Terminus killing too. Just as a side effect of going after my main target, everything around me is getting torn to pieces. It's kinda what I expected power fist to be.

@@zerberus_ms I appreciate the warm welcome and recommendations. Just subbed to both of those channels. I was actually just reading some lore about the Lamenters recently. Tragic Chapter, as is most of what small information I know of them and successors to Blood Angels in general.
@@warriorfire8103 💯 agreed, Brother. I'm not sure why Saber chose a small buff to damage without recognizing the true flaw of the weapon which is it's falsely advertised reach.
@@COA5T I see echoes of what PowerFist can be when I have it's 8m reach perk. It's reach then is quit respectable, I've made a style of charging often and playing dare with majoras+ by slamming them just before a parry. I also discovered a full charge does quit the chunk of damage on Terminus enemies so I got interested in making a possible boss killer build. But... When I looked at the perks again I realized how limited it is compared to Power sword.
@@haxguy0 I think the Power fist, even with it's recent buff, is not where it needs to be. The devs gave a slight buff to damage, when in reality the weapon does not do what it claims to do that well, which is range on its charged attacks. With melee not being able to heal back contested health on the same level as ranged weapons, it's hard to justify soaking damage to get off charged attacks that don't even heal back the damage you received while charging. It's in an odd spot at the moment in my opinion, Brother.
@@cvf4ever Just added this patch, Brother. It's really just for PvP against your Battle-Brothers in between operations. It's pretty barebones and not really fleshed out yet. Maybe they will add more features to it later.
The issue I have is that when I hold down the fire button, it just charges then fires my plasma pistol. So how do I hold it down to change stance in power whirl?
@@robtype0 Hold "fire" then dodge out of it while continuing to hold it. The Dodge cancels the Plasma pistol shot. You can see me actually do this during that example and at the end of the video when showing the partial charge pistol. This can also be done with the Bolt pistol, it just shoots 1 bullet instead.
@@prich0382 I personally don't think that's the role or intent of this class. As Bulwarks, we are not out damaging a good Assault in melee, nor are we ever going to out damage any ranged class with our pistol. We have a pretty unique role, and if that horde mode ever comes to fruition, it will become very apparent what that is.
Yes Brother, but it's not what you think. I do not use a standard keyboard. I use an Azeron keypad for extended gaming sessions due to injuries in my arm and wrist. So I could technically map any key as melee, but 'R' just so happened to be on this overlay so I used that.
My apologies Brother, but I am not sure how I could explain it any better. The overlay shows the actual key presses on screen so you can see what I am pressing, and I even show how fast the input timing is by how quickly you should tap parry and hold melee. I show it actually being done multiple times. What other methods would you suggest that I can show?
@@COA5T are you tapping or holding the melee key during the parry animation? Is the timing on the melee input instantaneous with the parry input or slightly after? The overlay isn’t helping me determine how exactly it’s done.
@@DrDamagePHD To change stance at all you have to hold melee, so remember how that feels first. All you are doing is just adding a quick input for Parry before that. You must tap Parry, and then INSTANTLY begin holding melee. When done right, the stance change will happen during the Parry animation instead of two separate animations.
