The chicken wasn't to measure whether he was a ghoul. He's definitely a ghoul. It's whether he's feral or not. Guy claimed that "if he's feral he'll go straight for the chicken" For more on feral ghouls...just wait 😜
Meeting ferals for the first time in F3 still gives me nightmares 😂😂 thought I was playing a lovely adventure game until I walked in those fucking tunnels
When it comes to the chicken, it was a test to see if he was a feral ghoul (which most are) or if he was civilized. If he was feral, he would have immediately ran after and tried to kill/eat the chicken. Can’t wait for you to continue. Love the fact you both have a bit of lore background which a lot of reactors don’t !
To be fair, a feral ghoul would have ran after and tried to kill/eat anything alive, including the guys that brought the chicken. It's a nod to old wive's tales ;)
I feel called out by Rob's description of his experience with Fallout 4, because that's been my experience with way too many video games... It's not that I start them and then don't *want* to play them, it's that I feel like I need to devote a decent amount of time to them, and I never end up finding the time!
Great reaction y’all! Did you recognize Blind Al from Deadpool? Here she is Betty and is portrayed by the great Leslie Uggams! She was spectacular in her role as Kizzy in Roots the miniseries. God bless you both!✝️🙏☮️🏳️🌈🇲🇽🇺🇸♓️🤓
Welcome to the weird, gruesome and wonderful world of Fallout! I had no relation to the games, but fell instantly in love with the world through this genious show! I am looking forward to see your journey through the wasteland!
Yaaaaaay! So happy were doing this. Yeah you got the time period thing kind of right. Its basically what the 50s thought the future would look like. But the beginning takes place in 2077 then obviously we get that 200 year time jump so were in like 2280 or so for the rest of the show.
I am so glad you two are reacting to Fallout! I have been following your reactions to The 100, but when Fallout was released I got totally side tracked with that. Probably in a couple weeks I will get this burned out of my system and back to The 100.
Well... some of us had been following the development of it since it was announced but we were fearful that they were going to screw it up. Glad to be wrong!
I’m so glad you guys are getting on to this. I’ve only played FO4 (3k hours) but I know the lore through the games and this show made me so happy. Fantastic television, if I had to make a list it would be near the top.
Guys, I just want to point out that Lucy’s Dad drowned Monty in a barrel of PICKLES! Imagine those injuries to your face and being submerged in BRINE! Youch!!!!! Such a great show, can’t wait to watch more of it with you guys!
Your reactions are always great with reflections and interpretations! Regards this as Fallout 5 - it continues the world and it takes place some years down the road from the last game (no spoiler, date is in this). But! Not a blimp! Not a blimp! A *blimp* is a balloon with a gondola and steering - the Prydwen is a *Zeppelin-type airship,* lift is provided by gas cells and she has an interior with decks and all that - much like Count von Zeppelin's airships - and those where, while not armoured, to a degree invulnerable to bullets unless they where incendiary - and the Prydwen *is* armoured...^^ Best regards Raoul G. Kunz
You two are IMPOSSIBLE to hate! Rob has beaten the greatest game ever, Skyrim. And Trin has played the OG fallouts!!!!! So cool, makes me love you two even more. Such an underrated channel!
19:23 Power armor kind of sucks in Fallout 4 because just walking around in one drains the fusion core. In Fallout 3 and New Vegas, there is no need to replace the fusion core. You only need to repair it when it takes damage, so it doesn't drain when walking around, it only drains its durability faster when you take damage.
Didn't expect to see this pop up, but it makes sense. I was very familiar with the games and lore and thought this show did an amazing job adapting to a live action show with the visuals and tone. The rest of the show is just as good as this first episode. I can't wait to see where they take it from here. (Lucy's actress also voiced Jinx in Arcane.)
In many of the games, there's a perk called "Bloody Mess" that increases the gore level of the game (plus a +5% increase to damage overall). So this show basically picked the "Bloody Mess" perk.
Big Fallout nerd here; excited to see you two jump in on this series. To be fair this game doesn't hold back... You can blow up a child as a means of assassinating his father in Fallout 2. In Fallout 3 there is a quest where you can free slaves...or help the slavers out by going and bringing them new slaves. So yeah this game series has always been dark to say the least.
Omg thank you guys so much! I hope you enjoy this as much as I did, I've loved the fallout series for a while and have loved your reactions to the walking dead and everything else, this is such an awesome surpise!

Oh what a surprise to see this. We recently finished watching season 1. I don't game at all and knew nothing, and I have to say I really loved this whole show. They did a great job with it keeping you entertained. It was serious but with humor. Amazing cinematography.
Oh, hi again! It has been four months. I am glad we meet at a common series again. As a non-player, I liked this one and I believe you will too. Enjoy!
He's a ghoul, but not a feral ghoul. Only feral ghouls can't abide chickens. As long as ghouls "take their medicine" they won't turn feral, and live for a long time.

Yes! You know we’ve all been waiting for this. Just rewatched your “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” reaction, and saw this out of the corner of my eye when I minimized the video. Edit: Rob, I think you and I have similar tastes, and are close in age. I played 300+ hours of Fallout 3, 350+ hours of Fallout New Vegas, and 400+ hours of Fallout 4. I think you would really enjoy theses games and this TV series. If anyone was only to play just one Fallout game, I would choose 4. If someone intended to play them all (at least the 3/NV/4 trio) I would play them in order.

YAY!!! Fellow OG Fallout player. Old gamers unite! Looking forward to your reactions. I thought the show was great! My description for the Fallout world is imagine the 50's World of Tomorrow actually became reality and then we blew it to hell with atomic bombs. One note, it's a generally accepted fan theory (I don't know that it's ever been confirmed in canon) that Fallout nukes never evolved to thermonuclear weapons, so the bombs are closer to the scale of those used on Japan in WWII and not the massive ones we actually have today. That's why the bomb at the beginning didn't wipe out the house and only broke out the windows. The overpressure of the blast wave had dissipated enough to not be lethal (yes, I'm a geek on this stuff 😉). Their transformation gives them an extremely long life (there are several pre-war ghouls in the games). There are some who go "feral." Those ghouls will attack any living thing they see (hence the chicken). They are little more than zombies (except they aren't contagious).

That's what made the show so much fun. A completely unique story.
