Mexico native captains San Joaquin County's last ferry boat

- Much of San Joaquin County is surrounded by water. That makes travel difficult around the California Delta. While most of the islands now have bridges, one doesn’t and the only way to reach it is by ferry. "It's really pretty,” said Jenny Castelar. “It's kind of like paradise for me." Castelar is up every morning before the sun rises for her job, which is like no other on the Delta. She's the captain of the county's last ferry boat. “It's very tranquil and really relaxing for the most part,” Castelar said of being on the water. Castelar came to the United States two decades ago from her home in Michoacan, Mexico. “Never in my life did I imagine having a job like this,” Castelar said. “I never would have had this opportunity had it not been for this country."
