LMMS install: lmms In order to run LMMS, a script needs to be created. From a terminal: nano /usr/bin/golmms pulseaudio --start & sleep 2 lmms && pulseaudio -k Ctrl+O, Enter, and Ctrl+X to save the file and exit nano. chmod +x /usr/bin/golmms Change LMMS launch command so it uses the golmms script: Menu > Sound & Video > right click LMMS > select Properties > go to the Desktop Entry tab Change Command to golmms Click OK button to apply the change. Start up LMMS: Menu > Sound & Video > LMMS Click Yes button for creating working directory (can be changed later from Edit menu > select Settings > click Paths button (button with folder icon)). If LMMS doesn't start up, then it may need to be opened more than once when it is first initializing. Click OK button in Setup LMMS window > click OK button in Restart LMMS window Play Demos: Click My Projects button (left side) > demos pull-down Double click any demo to open it (depending on project size, it may take a minute or two to open). To hear the demo, export the project as an audio file to the /Downloads file path, and then play it from the Android side. Export project as an audio file: File menu > select Export Go to /Downloads file path. Change Files of type to .mp3 Click Save button > click Start button and wait a few moments for the project to export From the Android side, navigate to the Downloads folder and open the .mp3 file. Thank you so much Ruth. it will be great if we all together try to find a workaround to the playback availability. it is huge drawback to not be able to listen in real time the audio that you are creating. great stuff anyway
This is installing a Linux desktop on Android OS (which is often viewed as a mobile OS). This will work with Android cell phones, tablets, and Android PCs.
