Funny thing is most people that live in Miami think this line is abandoned (I did too when I was younger) because most people have never seen a train here! It runs every 2-3 weeks on demand.

That appears to be a north-south industrial spur with one customer, the WASD Preston Water Treatment Plant located at 1100 W. 2nd Avenue, in the city of Hialeah. This line appears to run between W. 2nd and W. 3rd Streets. The line appears to be about 3,287 feet from their service gate to the switch head at the FEC Main. The FRA data would suggest is is the FEC South Subdivision. The FRA crossing data is as follows; (crossing numbers in parentheses)
    W. 13th Street (272967X), W. 14th Street (272966R), W 15th Street (272965J), W. 16th Street (272954W), W. 17th Street (272952H), W. 18th Street (272951B), W. 19th Street (272950U), W. 20th Street (273009P), W. 21st Street (273008H)
The switch head is located on the FEC South End Subdivision about 328 feet east of the east shoulder of Red Road (W. 4th Avenue) near the Hialeah Expressway and Sherwin Williams Paints 2195 W. 4th Avenue. This appears to be a double track main with the switch on the south track. The lead in on the switch suggest that the points are facing west, and it is a sweeping 90 degree turn from east to south.

Like I have always said, it was and still is railroads that make this country move. Ton for ton, it is still the cheapest game in town. That tanker they just pulled out of that water treatment plant, that can hold 100 tons of chlorine gas in liquid suspension. Compare that to a truck, that would be between three to four truckloads, meaning you would need to hire three to four drivers to haul the same amount of product.
You take a 150 car intermodal all double stacked, that is 300 containers or 300 drivers you would have to hire to deliver the same amount of freight.

If the line connects to FEC, Tri Rail and Brightline, maybe the neighborhood could have a motorized streetcar operation (without wires) to take commuters to the station

I would love to live in one of those houses by the tracks! I use to live by the tracks and I watched every train that came by. Awesome chase! You will almost always have at least one car get in your when during a chase. I call that " The One Car Rule". I have been on dirt roads with no houses around and right when I try to film a train a car pulls up in front and makes noise. lol. I looked this spur up on Google Maps. That is cool how it goes right through that neighborhood. Anyway, that was a cool chase on a rarely used spur!

I want a railroad in my backyard! I'm guessing that they have to shove the cars down the spur when they're delivering them, looks like the water plant has a two track unloading rack for the chlorine cars. And my only guess on their approach to the main is that the rock train was on the north track, it looks double track through there where the spur connects back to the main. Nothing like the chase!

Actually, I used to live in a similar area (though not as built up) - Indian Head, MD. La Plata, MD (which still has an active set of tracks) is similar. So such areas still exist, even in the eastern United States (and north of Florida).

How would I like to live in one of those houses? No! It's in Florida which is too hot and humid in the summer. It gets bad a few weeks during the summer in upstate New York, but Florida is worse. It's hotter, more humid and lasts longer. As for having a railroad in my back yard, that would be great, but would probably get a little more boring over the years once I get acclimated to the same old freight passing by.
