I dont why every electric company out there is loading scooter with unnecessary features. Why cannot they launch a simple scooter with no stupid features at an affordable price point. I feel ideal scooter will be like 80-85kmph top speed with 150km real life range. Honest review! It is difficult to believe Ola doesn't know these issues in their test rides. And it's even more difficult to believe they will fix it before first delivery starts. To me it looks like a bit refined version of those Chinese EVs. The moment your power is cut when breaks applied resembles Chinese EVs. Ather, Chetak and iQube you don't see power is cut when breaks applied. You need power to motor even though you press the breaks, this helps navigating on slopes or at low speeds. Wow, honest review. I am not going to buy this product even though I have a reservation. Ola this is not like software world where in the name of agile you dole out half baked product only to be tested by customer to report issues or bugs which teams can fix them in upcoming sprint releases. If you try to apply those principles in real world. You will seriously suffer on reputation and quickly brand will take a huge hit. Take some more time but deliver a quality product. Customers who booked the early would also love to wait and get solid product rather a become that alpha tester who can be only himself for signing up to test a unfinished half baked product. From this zigwheels and auto car reviews this clear feels product is not yet fully ready and it is too risky to book this product by paying such hefty money.
Zigwheels clearly has hired a bunch of editors & reviewers from Powerdrift, the content obviously has gotten better than what it was before..good stuff
Ola could have taken more time to deliver a refined product rather than giving beta products for review.. first impression is the best impression.. so it creates a negative perception to customers eventhough ola fixes it through future OTA updates.. Good luck Ola. Way to go..

Great Review, Thanks! I'm old-school... Give me a bike with 1 mode, exact power control. 70mph/115kph top speed, 50mi/80km range with max rated load. Everything else can be accessories...Pwr shutoff by brakes or kickstand is a good safety feature but needs override for hilly starts. Parking brake is a good idea. Presently pleased with my People S200 and feel the Ola S1 Pro is the 'next step' in scooter technology.
its no secret that Ola started with an already running product from Etergo, how diferrent is S1/Pro quality compared to its European cousin? Also its surprising that they couldnt get the scooter in its best form for the test rides inspite of starting off with a ready product. EV companies, all we need is 1. Decent range 150+ kms 2. Decent STABLE top speed 80kmph+ 3. Fast charging 4. Smooth acceleration and deceleration 5. Good after sales service in case of mishaps Keep your riding modes, speakers, Bluetooth, large tft displays and other stupid features with you.. We can talk after above is achieved..
I see everyone talking about how Ola has added speakers and saying that they should focus on performance instead of such “gimmicks” like speakers. Those speakers aren’t necessary for sure, but it is a cool party trick like cooled glove boxes in cars. And those speakers are very small and probably cost 3,000 - 4,000 rupees, by removing those there is not much they can do to improve performance with that little money....so it’s better to have speakers that aren’t found in any normal scooters.
Riding mode is a very pratical feature it limits the acceleration power to conserve battery, most people won’t go above60 kmph in cities, so you don’t need to accelerate all the way to the impressive 115 kmph, by controlling acceleration you will get more range. Why would anyone say this is stupid?
The scooter was already made by a foreign startup which ola acquired. Only one thing ola had to do in all this time was design a good software. And they couldnt do tht even.
