Bissell PowerForce Helix (12406) Upright Vacuum Cleaner

I found this at a local thrift store for $9.98. I wouldn't normally buy a Bissell or any cleaner of similar quality, but this one was cheap and almost unused. I figured that I could clean it, look at the motor, put the cleaner through some tests, and sell it for a small profit.
When I disassembled it, I was shocked to see that this model actually has a nice motor in it. It's not the "tin can" motors like they use in the other models. It's a lot more efficient than those motors. It performs about the same as the 10 and 12 amp models, but it does it while consuming less power and the motor will last longer because it is of better quality.
Like all of these Bissell models with this dirt separation system, it does not keep the filters clean very well at all. I cleaned the filters right before this video and they were dirty by the end of it. Even with clean filters, they are only good at getting surface debris. Another downside is that the highly cheap construction makes it feel somewhat like a toy.
This cleaner was made by Suzhou Eup Electric Company. They have made models for Hoover, Dirt Devil, and others. Suzhou made a lot of cleaners for Bissell, but a lot of them have also been made by Jiangsu Midea Chunhua Electric Appliance Company.

Good lord i am deaf now. I had one of these and was so glad to get rid of it. It was absolutely horrible. I have some of the older ones and they do a much better job. You should keep your eyes peeled for a dirt devil deluxe or dirt devil mvp

Suzhou EUP Electric Company is a Chinese vacuum cleaner manufacturer, obviously. Their vacuum cleaners for the Chinese market can be found at www.eup.com.cn/. You can also look at import prices for large orders on many websites and see how cheap these actually are. The motor in this particular model, however, is a pretty good motor, and if not abused, though Bissells do that naturally, should last a while.

older bissells are better, they weren't trash back in the day. they are decent vacuums back in 2001 to 2013.

Regardless of whether they managed to make them even worse or not, they were not decent even then. For example, a similarly priced Hoover Tempo would leave nothing for a Bissell to grab.
