oh my god man this video just saved so much time, money, and aggravation. i have an 01 sv650s and when ever it rains i lose half my engine. saw this vid and look at the side of engine and sure enough that hole was clogged up. runs like its brand new now thanks a million.
Thanks for the video! Today I got caught out in the rain and had everything go wrong. First my low fuel light came on even though I just filled it 10 miles ago and my bike would hardly start at all. Then I got home and my 650 went to 325. I just took that little switch under the clutch off till I can replace it and that solved the starting problem. the fuel light fixed its self. And now im working on the water issue. I poked a bobby pin in the drainage hole and pulled out tons of crap and some water came out. Started her up, and took her for a short ride around the neighborhood to try and get it to release more water. It did a few jumps and gained and lost power. It's tiny bit better. I'm gonna pick up pipe cleaners and everything else and finish the job. Thanks again.
thanks for the video, legit just saved me a tonne of time and money, same deal running on one cylinder after washing it, yep clogged breather cheers bud!
Thanks very much now i know what to do in the future. this happened to me earlier today after riding in the rain and i thought it was something more serious and dropped it off at the mechanic before researching the problem
I cleared some dirt that clogged the hole. I think there might be some more inside. Should I just blow some compressed air with the boot out, but the spark plug still inside? If I replace the plug, how do I know that when I replace it I won't get dirt inside the engine? Sorry for all the questions, but I saw your video and it's a big relief to know it's fixable
Hey bro I have big big rain an wind few weeks ago the wind blow my motorcycle cover and get soaked , afte one night I ride in the morning and happen the same only one cylinder work... I go try to do the same on my bike .. I hope my bike have drain ... 07 Suzuki boulevard... thanks for u video
Dude I could kiss you. I don’t care what anyone has to say. Helped me find the problem. Anyone who says it doesn’t it’s just a failed statistic. At least most of us it helped.
Found it does, it's exactly the same as the front but on the opposite side of the bike. I was hoping they were a mirror of each other and would be able to solve my probs bcoz mine had trouble with the rear cylinder, I think I'm the only one that had rear cylinder probs, I'm cleaning it out properly this weekend, just been keeping it breathing for now. Thanks for the vid it was a big help!
@@byronclarson8553 I'm having trouble with my rear cylinder not firing did you fix yours what was the problem cause my coil is good and I got good spark at the plug
I had similar problems in my hyosung, few things I did: 1. Added an extra high strength wire direct from battery to rectifier... Which solved my charging issues. 2. Changed a ignition coil... One of the big culprits 3. Cleaned the ignition coil grounding points which were rusted. 4. The wiring bunch near the twin chassis which was rubbing against the chassis and one wire had cut and was grounding to the body and that was a green wire... Maybe it's the same wire which is discussed in this video. 5. Cleaned injectors using professional guys
I haven't had this problem yet on my 1k but I'm definitely gonna tear it apart and blow it out with the compressor after seeing all that crap you pulled out of it
Thanks for posting this. Mine stopped after I washed it. I'm heeding your advice and hopefully I'll have a 650 back instead of a 325.

Matt Nagel what’s did you do to for the problem. Did the bike seem while you were running it like there was no power

Thats crazy, this was posted 14 yrs ago, i was 6. Now im watching this trying to solve the issue on my SV650. Time is crazy
Yea! I captured this using a 'Flip Video Recorder'. It's amusing to me that my internet legacy will be fixing an SV650 with pipe cleaners 🙂
No problem Matt -- glad you got it running and thanks for the comment!
Came from svrider, thanks mate.

Is the hole only in the front cylinder? The rear cylinder on my 2008 SV650 doesn’t run for about 5 minutes after a cold start

Ha! I'm glad this helped you and thanks for the encouragement!
Hi, I don't suppose the rear cylinder has the same breather hole does it??
Hey Byron -- sorry, I sold this bike years ago. Good luck!

Did you have a F1 code ?
c24 or c25 ?
(I've got a c24 code at night after i washed the bike during the day)
I don't think I ever pulled the codes on that bike -- haven't had it for a few years. Good luck with yours!
Thx
I don't think this issue gives an error code
