At the beginning of this year, after eliminating some distractions from my life so that I could hear Him better, I had an impression to stop consuming content that enabled division and drama, even church-related content from LDS UA-camrs that did so. I decided to commit to that, and while I haven't been perfect, it has made a big difference in my ability to change and become closer to the Lord through the Holy Ghost.
Most LDS U tubers start off really good and let a little popularity go to their head. I don’t listen to most of them anymore, they cause confusion in peoples testimonies.
@@MarvelousWonder1830 I’ve quit listening to lots of news and commentary. It’s actually ok because my favorite died 3 years ago. I grieve him but know he’s doing more important things. It has made me not as angry at the other side of the political divide. I’m truly trying but every once in awhile I cut loose on someone on social media about politics. Then I feel horrible. So I know I’m on the right track. It’s truly in Heavenly Fathers hands. We all think we are right so maybe none of us are right. Oh well we just need to carry on doing what we are meant to do♥️
My past Stake President has a job for which he works closely with our Prophet and Apostles. He was instrumental in putting together the meeting between the Pope and our Prophet. My past Stake President said "the brethren" are very concerned about the upcoming election and the contention that might result through the process. My goal is to show Jesus Christ my love for Him by being loving, peaceful, forgiving, and not judgmental. I have a long way to go, but I know it is important so I will be ready for the second coming.
How long have you been a member of the church? Have you been a member long enough to recall a time when the church leaders called the catholic church the great and abominable church, the whore of all the earth? Yet now your dutiful stake president somehow was part of something great in helping arrange a meeting between the "prophet" and the pope, whom he afterwards referred to him by the honorary title "His Holiness"? Either the church was wrong then or it is wrong now, and if it was ever wrong how can it be so true?
@@bonmamartine5178 How long do you think that will last in global church? LOVED this video!!! I've LONGED for this unity amongst the Saints. I've seen this unity in a profound dream! Brothers and Sisters IT IS PROFOUND!!!! I've never experienced anything like it. In the dream, we were one! One heart, one mind, one in purpose. Even when we sing, there was a harmony I've never heard before!!! I testify that this unity is coming among the Saints. And it will be beautiful beyond description! I have experienced it for myself, and know it is coming, in Jesus Christ name, amen.
I would like to share your unity. Are you one of the saints that supports transgenderism at our church? The church leaders recently announced allowing trans kids into church bathrooms, with a bishops “permission” ( as if a bishop could grant such permission). Will you stand up against the brethren as it comes to this? Isn’t it Isiah that prophesied in the last days even church leaders would be like “watch dogs who lose their bark”.
@@flossietube2065 Its wonderful to be positive! A lot must happen bc there is a hypnotic state that i feel coming from many who don’t know what’s really happening… like “ all is well in Zion!” We are not there yet in my opinion…
Thanks Jared! The President’s message is so needed right now. Contention and belittling others is becoming second nature especially on line. I’ve been noticing a division in the church over such things as geography models for the Book Of Mormon and whether polygamy was a revelation from God. People pick their camps and fight on line about it. Our own brothers and sisters in Christ. I encourage everyone to resist participating in this contention. We can express our beliefs and have discussions without tearing others down.
This weeks come follow me lesson is extremely powerful. It talks about how the people were called to gather together and become one and the only reason they not only survived but defeated the robbers is because they obeyed and repented and humbled themselves. I have only studied the first five chapters of third Nephi for the lesson. I’ve read it many times before, but this time stands out to mirror our day in extraordinary ways.
The only problem with the wonderful unity of these Nephites is that within 6 years, almost all of them became wicked. This account is a warning to us as well.
Yes! We need unity. Also with people from other religions that are also waiting and preparing for the coming of the Lord. This is no time to be fighting which church is better or which one is right or which one has more truth, we all should be united since we are all waiting for Him
Amen. The two churches referenced in Nephi's vision are archetypes, not organizations. We need to embrace and support every good person, no matter where they are. Yes there are keys and ordinances that are only in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but after one third of the world is destroyed in the tribulation as suggested in Revelation, that will leave a lot of people who are not among the 8 million remaining "Saints" (5 wise virgins of 10).
- - As for myself; I am a work in progress. I am Thankful To Be A Member Of " The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints '". - With leadership from President Nelson, I know that if I/ we follow his Guiding Words, the obstacles on the path to Heavenly Father & Eternal Life, will be easier to overcome. - I have a strong feeling that the October General Conference will have many great & marvellous words of guidance as always. - Thank You, this is a well made video.
Whenever I read the first chapter in 4 Nephi I cry. I cry really hard as my heart yearns for such a society. I was raised in a home full of contention (non-LDS), and I only knew kindness outside of my home.
Thank you Jared! The love of God in their hearts. Envision that as light and luminosity of your soul, then transmit it out from your heart to surround and support others.
Thank you for sharing this and your thoughts - I've been self reflecting on so much lately and what I can do to do better myself. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father and hoping I can do better and be there for whatever they have in store for me to do.
@@AnnaBellaChannel It will still impact them since the church is headquartered here. And, many countries are dealing with similar divisions, and many people in those countries have similarly elevated feelings about their issues. Not only that, but if the US is destabilized, that will have ripple effects across the world. No country is an island. Also, I suspect that's one of the reasons he didn't say anything directly about the election. He wanted the message to be applicable worldwide. And it is. However, when we liken the prophet's message unto ourselves, this is one obvious application. He's obviously very aware of what's going on in the US and how volatile it is.
I’ve been worried if I was worthy of the Lord’s help recently, but going through the points in this video made me feel a lot of comfort when I felt like I met the qualifications- thank you for making this video.
When we find ourselves thinking poorly of our Brothers and sister we need to take these to the Lord and when we are not seemingly able to give it to the Lord then maybe we can Pray the same Prayer as King Lamoni's Father Prayed. Root this Evil spirit out of my soul.
I'm grateful for the ward I live in! I don't feel any animosity, there's no jealousy or pride. It's true friendship... true unity. I have never felt more comfortable in a ward. There's a reason why my husband and I are here.
I believe the reason this is true is directly tied to how you feel/act toward the people in your ward. That is so wonderful! You might be surprised that not everyone in your ward may feel the same way. I hope I'm wrong. But if the day comes when you come across this, don't let it derail you. Keep feeling and showing unconditional love for those people around you. Everyone needs love... and your heart is in the right place. Thank you for sharing!
Excellent video, Jared. Just on the topic of “becoming one” but not losing our individuality, one of my favorite quotes: “there is more individuality in those who are more holy. Sin on the other hand brings sameness. It shrinks us to addictive appetites and insubordinate impulses. For a brief surging selfish moment sin may create the illusion of individuality, but only as in the grunting galloping gadarene swine.” -Elder Maxwell
We have been called to consecrate our lives if we are endowed. It is not just $. It is our desires, time, habits, service, how we treat our bodies, our minds-all of who we are. It is a pathway to come unto Him. Whew. Not easy. Let's keep moving that way.
@@rdancranston well, you're not wrong at all. Heart disease and other cardiovascular conditions are at an all time high and surging with no end in sight.
I’ve thought about this a lot. Imagine if all those in a ward prayed for each other and the leaders, especially the bishop who is also ‘the father of the ward’. Instead of gossiping about ward members prayer for and with each other I think it would elevate us all
Amen to this! My beloved husband is the current bishop in our ward and I feel this too. It is SO much easier to fulfill his role and calling when the adult members are willing to pray together and work with one another.
@@bobwerner6512the Masonic handshakes don't get you to heaven... this is a matter of the heart. To think only the LDS go to heaven makes God a cult member.
There was this really great quote from the History of the Saints where the prophet at the time spoke to the members telling them that they needed good members of the church in the Conservative Party and the Democratic Party to influence others. I thought it was a great reminder that members may have different political views, but can still be united in our faith of Christ, and influence others for good through our testimonies of Him! I am worried about the election, but I am choosing not to fear but focus on my Faith in Jesus Christ. And I love the thoughts about continually seeing each other primarily as children of God. Truly brothers and sisters.
@@Jeanie-nv7lo Perhaps you are right. It could also be that we have different circumstances with the same remedy. Let me propose my thoughts this way--Even political parties need "sons of Mosiah" sharing the gospel. "Moroni's" defending freedoms. Until the work is finished. We all have a different role to play in our different spheres of influence but we all talk and teach and preach and live the same goal: to become like the Savior.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful talk and the invitation from President Nelson to become a people prepared to meet Christ and usher in the millennium. Another hint of what's approaching in the near future. I've been feeling the need and desire to further approach Zion in my characteristics and have felt greater and greater emphasis from our church leaders to move to a higher level through Christ's power. Accepting this invitation allows us to be separated from the tares of the world, to come out of Babylon, and to be seated at the wedding feast.
The tares are inside church, and there are more tares than wheat now, and have nothing to do with the world. Great job at learning to overcome them, which is hard, but possible, and many are needing the Prophet! But this is good
@@garysanders8740 Good point, but aren't they tares because they have succumbed to worldly Gods. And I have in no way learned to overcome. I'm "feeling the need and the desire", but have a long way to go.
Love it! Is it hard-yes! To love others who are actively hurting someone, who claim victimhood and are easily offended, excuse and commit acts of violence, etc. It is so hard to unify when certain behaviors make living together impossible. Having it be the desire of our hearts to love all will bring miracles. I'm excited to see how it all works out.
Don't forget, the Nephites who achieved this state of unity were only able to do it because they survived three days of darkness, tempests, earthquakes, thunderings and lightnings, vapors of smoke, whole cities burned, buried, and sunk in the sea, and all the people killed except for the more righteous among them. Then after a personal visitation from Jesus Christ were they able to reach this state. If the Book of Mormon is for us in our day, I suspect we will have to go through a similar experience to prepare us.
I have been repeatedly in prayer, blessings, impressions, been told to prepare for exactly what you are talking about, specifically the example of Lachoneus. I think its getting close, this spirit of contention is out of control, and I don't want to be in the middle of it.
You can live the law of consecration now. Pay your tithing and give generous Fast offerings and donations to the other categories. This brings more joy that any possessions you can buy with that money.
The Law of Consecration is really just a change in attitude. If we acknowledge that all we have/are is actually God's, and we are only stewards, and we follow His will in the management of our stewardship, then we are fulfilling our covenant to live the law of consecration.
Also helping a neighbor who lost a job, buying groceries for a widow. When it is one on one ministering, it changes yours and others lives. The Lord whispers the instructions, and help us all be ready for the day of full consecration. The law of tithing is the lower law.
by giving the Church money you are actively supporting their financial investment portfolio, which is not Christlike. They invest money where it will make profit, apparently without taking moral implications into account.
Great discussion, thanks for tallying those important words. We do need to pay attention and put into action what Pres Nelson is asking us to do. The more we can incorporate those righteous traits, the more we can practice the thoughts and actions of a disciple of Jeaus Christ, I think we will become more and more like Him. I have much to work on and hope there are still a few years before Christ comes, since there are so many who need time to change. However, I also hope He comes soon, because I worry about how many may be lost because of all the wicked influences around.
I agree that we should show love for others individuals regardless of there political views. I think I generally live that principle. However, many of our neighbors have been deceived and it is a dangerous problem for Western countries. We are already dealing with governments and supporting institutions that constantly lie to us and try to silence the truth. We should not have a contentious spirit but we cannot avoid contention to the point that evil is allowed to be done and/or we loose our freedom. Jesus certainly did not shy from contention when he felt it necessary.
I agree that we need to stand up for truth and righteousness in love. I've learned that conflict and contention are not the same thing. We will face conflict and evil vs good these days, but we can respond the best we can without contention or pride and just arguing. We can speak the truth and stand for our values and beliefs in love, but if others don't want to hear it or aren't open to discuss to learn or just want to argue and be right, we don't have to do the same. Like the Brethren in the temple, we can strive to have kind discussions (with both passionate and different views), but each person chooses to be humble and listen for God's way and will on the matter and then we follow that together. I realize that's not the reality with most of us a lot of the time and each side can choose to humbly learn or not, but it's something we can strive for as much as it is in our control on our side. We were saved for these days, and God will help us do it.
The Saints there in Utah finally are getting a taste of The Spoils of Babylon and her riches and that feeling of being outside the bubble and being what the world has to offer feels good. Many of the Saints there are being lulled into that carnal security and instead of wanting to stand out differently and be a peculiar people are choosing to blend in with Babylon and to consume her influences. That will be rectified soon and there will be a great humbling that will take place and it will start upon the Lord's mountain top and it will spread from there on to the Gentile Nations. There will be a humbling of the Saints everywhere but those in Utah who know the covenants the most will see it soon.
This was a very difficult video for me to watch. I’ve been a political junkie since I was eight years old. I was also a political science major. I have a real problem with both presidential candidates. I’ve had bad thoughts about both of them. After hearing this video, I realize I have a great deal of repentance that I need to do. it’s almost an hourly struggle for me. But thank you for this video. I want to be one with the Lord and his people and I can see that I have a great deal of work to do.
I have a friend who was very upset about the results of an election. In the temple a voice came to her: "Earthly kingdoms will rise and fall. Build My Kingdom."
A couple of weeks ago our ward was split in utah. We were put into a new ward. Although we miss our old friends the unity we have felt in the new ward has been great. This experience makes me feel like God is gathering his elect into the storehouses. Tons of stakes in utah are going thru this as well. Anyone else have a similar experience?
Our ward split recently too, creating one new ward and keeping the original ward. We remained in the “old” ward and just love it. Our ward was so large it almost felt like stake conference every Sunday. By the time we finished ward business, announcements and the sacrament there was only account 15 to 20 minutes left for the talks. It’s such a different feeling now where we all know each other and how we can help one another. Such a different feeling. It’s wonderful. I think the wards and stakes are doing this because about a year ago the church announced that they want the wards to be smaller, like 420 members instead of in the 600’s.
I wish that was the same with my ward. Since Covid everyone has been so rude. The ladies are in their own Littles groups like they are in middle school and are not very welcoming to new members of the ward or if you don't fit in (like me.)
We are a different from the ward I was accustomed to in WA state before COVID, this little TX branch grows but is spread so wide I haven't seen the opposite boundary in the 3 years I have lived here. Our precious primary is small but the disabled and elderly outnumber the active members. I pray for the healing of our growing elderly population every day. My feeling is that many are prevented from attending the temple due to the distance/time required to spend the hours there. Once we are healed, the temples will be more crowded! I plan to increase my time there and have a second hip replacement this fall!😊8
We are splitting the 28th of this month. So excited! Our ward has been huge for too long. 5 wards are splitting in our stake to create a new ward. Our ward is the biggest out of the 5.

This is extremely important. I believe a major earthquake in Utah before General Conference may make it so it is not broadcast to the world. I'm grateful to have President Nelsons words in advance.
It is no coincidence that as a church we study the Book of Mormon during an election year every time. The governing and relational lessons are hugely impactful and telling. We need to get prepared and not be distracted
Did you see the new youth theme announced today? "The youth theme chosen for 2025 is “Look unto Christ,” based on Doctrine and Covenants 6:36, which reads, “Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.” "Young Women General President Emily Belle Freeman said the theme scripture for this year is one meant to empower the youth - particularly in times of doubt or fear." Sound advice for all of us any time. But 2025 could be an interesting one.
I see so many people that feel like they aren't good enough. I used to feel the same way and then I heard the true gospel. The truth is we aren't good enough and that is why we need Jesus. We need a righteousness that isn't our own. The kind that can only be imputed to us freely given when we put our faith and trust in Jesus and Him alone. He beckons all to come unto Him and find rest for your soul. This rest cannot be found in a religion or by striving or doing more.
I often worry about the subject of unity. I want unity. But life is so full of people wanting to pull me away from the teaching of Christ. I don't know how to create unity in that chaos. I have family that are very contentious about the faith. I wish they could see the folly in their wisdom. And I'm sure they feel the same way about me. Does this disqualify me as someone unwilling to unify? You said we can't be loners, but truthfully, walking the faith as a disciple of Christ can be lonely. I certainly don't feel part of the eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die crowd. So I guess I'll just do my best and hope the Lord can look on my heart.
A harder task... but easy once you accept it... continue to be a person shining with positivity. At some point they're going to want what you have, and may soften their hearts. It may take real tragedy in their lives and overcoming bitterness. You might be their only bright light in their lives. Amid all the contention seen today, being able to rise above it with peace, strength and confidence will draw others to you. Share with them the provider of peace and love. Lead them to Christ, and perhaps they will seek to repent and wash away what is burdening them.
I can understand what youre talking about. We may feel very alone in following Christ at times, even among our own family and friends. But the Lord does bless us in our efforts and raises up friends and pours out peace. This has been happening in my life too, even though it's painful in other relationships right now and there need to be healthy boundaries. I've also been learning that true unity among each other only comes when we are each personally united with God and converted to and follow His doctrine, His ways, and His will. We can do our part and what we can control on our side, and then allow others to choose and make wise decisions moving forward for our lives. Together, our righteous and humble hearts and actions will help create the Zion we need to welcome back the Savior. It's a process for all of us.
Become the type of person that they will want to follow. If you are able to radiate the Spirit they will notice. If possible bring others into their lives who also radiate The Spirit. You don’t need to preach at them. Just lead by example and love them fearlessly with all your heart. No matter what. Know that you are never alone. You can always pray, every if it is a silent prayer it will be heard. Stay strong it is worth it 🤗
My ward doesn’t typically speak about the Second Coming that often… much to my dismay. Something happened last week. There’s quite a few on the train! All of a sudden at the end of our gospel doctrine lesson as well as in the closing prayer, there was a string of comments about it. AND about it being very close!!! I was amazed by it! 🙌
Not in my ward. If it is brought up, especially the state of our country, there is a harsh look and no response. There is an unspoken rule that we are not allowed to talk about it. Its very frustrating
The one word I did not see in any of that article…. Solidarity. …. Interesting…. Because the last worldwide event we had involving sports, was all about solidarity. I heard that word spoken so many times and at the surface it’s like, oh how nice, they are calling for unity in the world. But no, they are not! There is difference between unity and solidarity. And there is a reason President Nelson uses the word Unity. When I looked up on google the difference, even google gave an example of a sports event where fans and players could be “unified” by wearing matching colors. The example it gave for solidarity was of a union or workers on strike…… To me that call for solidarity from the worldwide organization looks like that one leader from that one particular group in the Book of Mormon we are reading about right now who wrote the letter with flattering words saying, instead of fighting us, why don’t you come down and join us. We will show you our ways and you can partake of what we have… Where as President Nelson’s words look like the righteous leader defending truth, calling for true unity and peace through genuine respect of persons and laws.
I would add that no one on earth is living a perfect Celestial law. Only the Lord was Celestial on earth. The rest of us are living or walking a line between telestial and terrestrial as we seek to become celestial and allow the Spirit to change us through Christs grace. Remember, the earth will become a celestial kingdom but becoming indicates a develpmental period of time to get there. The Lord understands mental health and addiction which may cause someone depressed, thus sometimes or for some addicted (pick your addiction), to appear to be telestial. The Lord is merciful to those with telestial sins who even desire to be celestial and will include them in his mercy if they are engaging in the process of repentance. Repentance isnt an event its a process. And Helaman taught that power is given to the redeemer from the father to redeem because of repentance (the process). Engaging in the process is like putting on a spiritual life jacket allowing the Lord to grant mercy to the repentant (not those who are done repenting since its not an event but the repentant who are in the process and working at overcoming the natural man). Too many in the church think that because they have no serious sin that they are somehow more perfect, that they have arrived and are living celestial law. Not so. They are trying to live celestial law and cannot become celestial without the transformative power of Jesus Christ offering grace to us via the Spirit. That Spirit will teach us our weaknesses that offend the Lord, that injur others and ourselves and stand in the way of perfection. So i hope this offers hope to those who may feel fear that they are not perfect enough and who try and try but are stuck in addiction. The Lord doesnt expect perfection. He asks us to engage in the process of trying to ask for help and then trying to change and live the standards. And he is patient and wants to forgive the repentant. There are those in the church who think because they have a recommend that they are safe. Safety only lies in engaging in the process of repentance which will continue well into the next life until we are pronounced complete.
Well said! That is the very thing that gives me hope. I can't go through a day without a mistake. Repentance helps me be more humble and accept others where they are at. It is a process, and no two people are alike. I believe we will be judged for our attitudes. For how we tried to treat others. How quick we repent.
Repentance is the gift of us all so we can be with Our Creator. You as a person we need God and without him ,we are nothing.God bless us to hear and heed to the word of God in reality.God bless all to come to the True and Listen to the True Prophet. From the time of Noah the Prophet was prophesied about the flood and all the Prophets of old There was prophecy,oh God help us all,we need Thee.🙏🙏🙏

Utah members are some of the worst I've ever encountered... i live here cause i must. There's no way I'd ever live in the member belt. Here's the thing, zion is who and where we are. Living in Utah and not visiting, not talking to neighbors, not having random visits, is something Utah needs to work on, immediately. My neighbors have all been ostracized and even myself because i interact with them, daily. I speak my broken Spanish and joke and laugh. But nothing from returned missionaries who speak Spanish, don't even say anything... it's pathetic
Quite a lot of people EVERYWHERE simply prefer to keep to themselves and maintain privacy. In this day and age ... we can risk a hell of a lot just by opening our mouth in the most innocent of ways. Such a decision has nothing whatsoever to do with the fact they are members of the church.
@scotthullinger4684 That's the problem... everyone is too afraid of "offending" someone. Maybe I'm offended that I can't say what I wanna say, and it just needs to be said? Members in Utah, as I see it, are the worst when it comes to offending people. If you're not mormon or go to church on the weekly, etc, then you're like cast out. If you're not mormon, you're nothing to these folks. Non Mormons are the rudest people in a way that they all have a grudge against the church and members because of the way they've been treated. As an outsider, I can say that my membership in the church isn't at all compromised by anyone, anywhere. I have my issues and I'm good with it because it doesn't change who or what I am
Chronic mental and physical illness has me always worrying that I'm not doing or being enough in the church, even though a blessing told me I would be made whole on the other side.
I believe we are being prepared for Adam-ondi-Ahman. The Second Coming is His final coming and happens after much destruction and after He appears to the Jews.

As Paul says, if you have not charity, then prophecies, knowledge and works are meaningless. This isn't supposed to just "magically happen during the 'Millennium'" where there is no rich or poor. Christ's people are supposed to live that now over most of the things we do in the church. I'm not saying it. Christ does. He says it everywhere.
I've noticed a LOT of division within the Church has to do with politics. There's a difference between keeping oneself informed and going off in one direction or another. For the past several months a fellow Church member on social media (elsewhere in America from where I live) was getting very preachy about politics. Where he wanted everyone on his friends list to align with his opinions in literal lock-step or we were all too brainwashed by propaganda to notice 'the errors of our ways.' Last week, I told him he was going overboard with his opinions. Which were very destructive, divisive and based off of provable media driven lies. I didn't tell him the first bit, but I did tell him that he needed to take a break from politics and focus on his family or a hobby for a while. Not long later, I discover he completely blocked me on social media. Sad times are definitely coming.
Thanks for the comment. Actually, I have a few related quotes on that: Bruce R. McConkie Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles The time for the Second Coming of Christ is fixed and certain as was the hour of his birth. It will not vary as much as a single second from the divine decree. He will come at the appointed time. The Millennium will not be ushered in prematurely because men turn to righteousness, nor will it be delayed because iniquity abounds. Bruce R. McConkie, The Millennial Messiah: The Second Coming of the Son of Man [1985], 26-27. ____________ Joseph Fielding Smith President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles When we become ripe in iniquity, then the Lord will come. I get annoyed sometimes at some of our elders who when speaking say the Lord will come when we all become righteous enough to receive him. The Lord is not going to wait for us to get righteous. When he gets ready to come, he is going to come - when the cup of iniquity is full - and if we are not righteous then, it will be just too bad for us, for we will be classed among the ungodly, and we will be as stubble to be swept off the face of the earth, for the Lord says wickedness shall not stand. Do not think the Lord delays his coming, for he will come at the appointed time, not the time which I have heard some preach when the earth becomes righteous enough to receive him. I have heard some men in positions and places of trust in the Church preach this, men who are supposed to be acquainted with the word of the Lord, but they failed to comprehend the scriptures. Christ will come in the day of wickedness, when the earth is ripe in iniquity and prepared for the cleansing, and as the cleanser and purifier he will come, and all the wicked will be as stubble and will be consumed. Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, comp. Bruce R. McConkie [1956], 3:457.
Did you see President Nelson's Facebook post/reel today, sharing part of his Peacemakers needed talk? He is really emphasizing this point. I wonder if his conference talk will be along unity/peacemaker lines.
Alma Chapter 38. Verses 11-14 (11) See that ye are not lifted up unto pride; yea, see that ye do not boast in your own wisdom, nor of your much strength. (12) Use boldness, but not overbearance; and also see that ye bridle all your passions, that ye may be filled with love; see that ye refrain from idleness. (13) Do not pray as the Zoramites do, for ye have seen that they pray to be heard of men, and to be praised for their wisdom. (14) Do not say: O God, I thank thee that we are better than our brethren; but rather say: O Lord, forgive my unworthiness, and remember my brethren in mercy -- yea, acknowledge your unworthiness before God at all times.
I wonder how many would accept a call from the prophet to institute the Law of Consecration? It would be the most difficult for the rich and those who desire riches, I think.
Consecration is a celestial law. It is the foundation of a Zion society. As Zion is gathered it will be embraced without compulsory means. Every endowed member of the Church has already voluntarily covenanted to live this law.
I note with great interest that 4 Nephi, and Nelson's article, mentions the Savior teaching about equality, no poor, servants that minister, love, etc. Nowhere does the Savior institute a hierarchy, leadership, authority or control. Actual Zion has no need for these things.
A lot happened that didn't make it into the record we have received. I believe we are not ready for those details. I believe there will be a hierarchy (which literally means "rule by priests"), but it will be based on counsils and stewardship and will flow without any compulsion. God's house is a house of order. Read Joseph Smith and World Government by Hyrum L Andrus for some hints.
The BOM peoples didn’t get it together and build a real Zion until a great destruction came. It was like a reset. I expect a repeat of that …except this time, earth wide, instead of American continent. We are too stuck individually in making life happen, financial goals, next year’s vacation…most don’t even know how impossibly hard it is for some.

I would agree I think he should state it just as we all should. The Prophets and apostles do it. Plenty of member and others don't always catch the difference between actual doctrine and his thoughts.

The CFM readings are incredibly timely this year. 😅
I agree 100%
The only problem with the wonderful unity of these Nephites is that within 6 years, almost all of them became wicked. This account is a warning to us as well.
Interesting how we always study the BofM during an election year … can’t imagine why that might be ….
Yes! We need unity. Also with people from other religions that are also waiting and preparing for the coming of the Lord. This is no time to be fighting which church is better or which one is right or which one has more truth, we all should be united since we are all waiting for Him
Absolutely

Isn't it powerful that the prophet is issuing a call for the Saints to unite just ahead of this divisive, contentious election.
That's a super good observation! 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
The rest of the world where the majority of the church members now live don't vote in the USA election.

Just on the topic of “becoming one” but not losing our individuality, one of my favorite quotes:
“there is more individuality in

I thought it was a great reminder that members may have different political views, but can still be united in our faith of Christ, and influence others for good through our testimonies of Him!

That exact theme has been on my mind a lot lately. What is the Lord going to require of us to be a Zion people?
Amen! I would add helping those in need ❤️
Also helping a neighbor who lost a job, buying groceries for a widow.
When it is one on one ministering, it changes yours and others lives. The Lord whispers the instructions, and help us all be ready for the day of full consecration.
The law of tithing is the lower law.

Thank you Christian. I think that it is time to get in the ark!

It is wonderful to change and learn from our change

We need a righteousness that isn't our own. The kind that can only be imputed to us freely given when we put our faith and trust in Jesus and Him alone. He beckons all to come unto Him and find rest for your soul. This rest cannot be found in a religion or by striving or doing more.
Thank you for sharing this - what I needed today.
This is so important for all of us.
The example it gave for solidarity was of a union or workers on strike……
To me that call for solidarity from the worldwide organization looks like that one leader from that one particular group in the Book of Mormon we are reading about right now who wrote the letter with flattering words saying, instead of fighting us, why don’t you come down and join us. We will show you our ways and you can partake of what we have…
Where as President Nelson’s words look like the righteous leader defending truth, calling for true unity and peace through genuine respect of persons and laws.
You are absolutely right, the term solidarity is used often by our latter-day Gadianton robbers.
Our stake president just told us that we are about to see things that we have never seen before. Now our phones can blow up
What do you mean tho about phones blowing up? 🤔 ty
Did he mean seeing good things or bad things?
@@bkampi2622 oh yes, I understand now, ty
I deleted it because I’m not sure if sharing what was said in church is allowed.
@@bkampi2622why would it not be allowed? Why would we not be meant to hear it and only your ward you know? And yes I'm partly saying that because I'm interested to know what was said to see if it pertains to something I've been wondering.
Seems to me United we stand Divided we fall. Have a great day all of us. Thankyou for your video sir.
Thank you. I needed that❤
I don't always leave comments, but please know I appreciate you for all you do. I'm looking forward to your live video after general conference.
Unity ONLY comes through shared obedience and righteousness to the same commandments. Disobedience and unrighteousness= disunity. Unity is not kindness. Standing for what's right is not contention.
Tares are a type of grass, so when you g looks like wheat. However it in sufficient quantities mixed in wheat made into flour can cause a drunken kind of state. Or in higher amounts worse. Makes the parable more meaningful knowing tnis.
I’m screwed :( fell off the wagon since moving. Been a struggle. Heart failing ;( thx for the video again Jared. Love ya brother
Just get back up and keep going! 💛 The Lord cares way more about which direction we're headed in than where we are on the line. You've got this, and He's got you.
I fall off the wagon it seems almost daily😣...but I get back up and always remember who is cheering me on!!😆😇
It’s okay! I dropped off the wagon lots of times, but finally the power of the priesthood came into play. Keep trying and also keep forgiving yourself. 🤍🤍🤍
My dear brother , do not give up , keep trying, keep fighting the great deceiver, we all fall but we must get back up ! Father knows you , He loves you, He never gives up on His children so you are not screwed, that’s what Satan wants you to believe but don’t give him that victory! Trust Father !!!
Go to your knees in prayer often. Even if you don't feel like it, even if you can't seem to find the words. I say that because I've sadly experienced thus myself but if you stay on your knees, the word eill come and the mire you do this the mire comfort you will have. I fell off the wagon myself but I testify to you through prayer you will find your way back. You aren't svmcrewd. Satan wants you to belueve that because he can easily hokd you back. Jesus Christ loves you, his arms are stretch wide wanting you to embrace him. Tell Satan to take a hike. Get out if your life, brkueve in yourself. I dint kniw you but just by your comment I know you can fund your way back. Nobody is better than you. Chrust lives you as much as anyine else. You my friend are in my orators. Much love to you. ❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Read the Book of Mormon - it is all in there and even stronger warnings and language. The witness and the warnings. If this magazine article gets you all excited like it is some huge revelation or warning, the you guys need to read the Book of Mormon. It has been there all along!
The Book of Mormon is false Scripture. Read the Bible. Smith used religion for money, power and sex.
Yes but what happened before that society could be established? The wicked were all destroyed. Yikes! Things are gonna get dicey.
Yes! There was a catalyst. A reset.
Thank you.
Thanks
I believe we are being prepared for Adam-ondi-Ahman. The Second Coming is His final coming and happens after much destruction and after He appears to the Jews.

Wow, perhaps President Nelson is saying that we are in the process of becoming like the people in 4 Nephi right now together?
Interesting that he has been focusing so much on 3 Nephi, and now it’s 4th Nephi? I thought that too when I first read the article. So interesting.
Not unless we have no rich and poor. We're so far gone from 4th Nephi. Not even close.
@@TureRealD I hope that I will see the day when we have no rich and no poor.
@@FromAgonyToLight Me too. But we are not working towards that on any meaningful level.
If the church can't focus on that, then everything else is vanity.
The great “falling away” has barely just begun. We haven’t seen anything yet.
Oh how I needed this video, Jared. (The election war.) Thank you!
No narcissists will be in Zion
This Sunday elder and sister Gong will be speaking at the salt lake community college Jordan institute at 7 pm
Oh Lord is it I?!
You are saved by grace.
No question about that but what we receive in the judgment of rewards is predicated in part by our works

When Pope and Prophet meet, globalism lieth at the door.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a warning and a threat in and of itself. Blatantly and violently.
Thx Jared
Joseph Smith said that if he lived to be 80 years old, he’d be here to witness the second coming of Christ. Are we still too wicked?
Thanks for the comment. Actually, I have a few related quotes on that:
Bruce R. McConkie
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
The time for the Second Coming of Christ is fixed and certain as was the hour of his birth.
____________
Joseph Fielding Smith
President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
When we become ripe in iniquity, then the Lord will come.
Hi! I just made a video that mentions your comment! I have it scheduled for tomorrow. Thank you so much! 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
A perfect example of this course of the church moving from telestial
D&C 88:79-85…. Need to know whats going on so as to not be deceived. That way we can unify with one mind one heart…❤
Alma Chapter 38. Verses 11-14
(11) See that ye are not lifted up unto pride; yea, see that ye do not boast in your own wisdom, nor of your much strength.
I think that the issue of unity is that most interpret it to mean we must think and be the same.
Hi Jared. Great content as always. I know you are a technical kind of guy and like charts however, in my opinion they get to be redundant.
I wonder how many would accept a call from the prophet to institute the Law of Consecration? It would be the most difficult for the rich and those who desire riches, I think.
We already promise that in the Temple. A separation has been going on and will intensify.
@@lynneb.2357 You might find a time where you will need to help feed others... both spiritually and physically.
Certainly NOT A CULT.
Dear Jared, I do like your channel but I can't afford your membership. Live on low income, so this is luxery for me. but I enjoy listening to your free channel Thanks
Great video. Loved the fish analogy. Can’t wait for conference!
I will not cast my vote for anyone other than King Jesus.
A great follow-on to this video will be the next Liahona article (digital only: Church Leaders Teachings from Social Media) Unity - "Be of One Heart and One Mind"
This is a hard thing for me to do. I’m working on loving people with out fault
Awesome. Keep up your good works
I would highly recommend that you state that you alone am responsible for the opinions and views expressed herein. You are an ordinary member of the church making interpretations.
I think that is obvious to anyone who thinks about it for 30 seconds. I have never heard Jared suggest otherwise.
I would agree I think he should state it just as we all should. The Prophets and apostles do it. Plenty of member and others don't always catch the difference between actual doctrine and his thoughts.
I feel that this is a gospel discussion. We are allowed to have them.
Well, Im honest and straightforward. However, having a legal background, trial attorney training, Im contentious many times. Im not superficial or glib but my neighbor grinds my gears. I have a lot of work ahead of me. …

Thank you for this. It's very instructive. I might recommend that you replace " you " with " we " or "us" So as not to sound so condescending or " better than thou". It makes your message more palatable. I.e we each have a little bit of wheat and tares within us. Hence, the beauty of His grace and redemption for all. God bless President Nelson and God help us all. ❤️🙏🏼
