The one clue that the potentiometer wire gets plugged in upside down on the middle of 3 sets of pins was the clue that finally got it to work. thanks. What is the other pins for?

why didn't you spend any time explaining or showing what you used to power it? i left the circuit board on plugged a power supply in the jack on hard drive but after 5 - 10 seconds it shuts down. i need to keep flipping the power on/off to keep it going ...
