Executive Outcomes : The PMC Blueprint, The Rise, Fall and Rebirth.

- Executive Outcomes was a South African private military company (PMC) that operated during the 1990s. Executive Outcomes was known for providing military and security services to governments facing internal conflicts or rebel insurgencies. Their highly trained personnel, including former members of elite military units, were involved in combat operations, training local forces, and providing strategic support to their clients.
While the company achieved military success in some of its operations, it also faced criticism and controversy for the use of private military forces in armed conflicts.

The problem with EO is they broke the 12th commandment:- "Thou Shalt Not Make Important People Look Incompetent"
To be honest, I actually trust Eeben Barlow and Executive Outcomes in the assurance of world peace than the UN -whom in my humble opinion and despite their task as being "peacekeepers", has an agenda of their own at another's expense.
Nothing wrong with using mercenaries to fight in wars.
This , lets be honest most soldiers arent fighting out of love for their nation but out of salary and benefits .
@@bosniankumquat1835 I concur!
@@bosniankumquat1835or just to stay alive if they are conscripts
“Predatory Capitalism…” Lord knows how African Socialism has been so lamb-peaceful. So uplifting to her people.
Two sides of the same coin
Reminds me of
“Muh cOLoNiaLismS”.
You all should be thankful.
EO will never be replicated in today`s environment. They were supreme and not recognized for what they were. Blackwater come close, however they had different missions with very different type of people and standards. If the world wants a new EO, there are some very few people in the league of Eben Barlow today. There are plenty of high rated NGA today, but the brains, knowhow and personnel in sync is not here today.
Wait for it, you just need a situation like that of SA in the 90s. If a professional army disbands a large chunk of it's forces including trainers and special operations you could have the manpower and then it will only be needed an entrepreneur like Barlow. Although it's true that Barlow stated that part of the success was due to economics. The payment and salaries EO employees had at the time was enough to live well in SA and most african countries at the time, those 2k -7k dolars were enough to buy a farm or a large state back in the day, that is a huge factor.
Yeah. It happened in mexico some years ago, didnt turn out good.@@egillskallagrimson5879

Yes?... Guess again. Do you think that we stop learning? People like us never stop observing. Necessity is the mother of invention.
Even Australia now has a PMC.
No doubt we will get all the bumber stickers too but it matters nothing when government fails in security, we thrive.
Trust me, Eeben and Erik is not done. We are just getting started.
@egillskallagrimson5879 you just need a rapid deterioration in national and international security as is today.
BTW, the name “Executive Outcomes” is a pretty douchey name, but pretty badass at the same time. However, EO was doing legitimate work until Papua New Guinea. And sometimes the only way to pay was temporarily granting resource rights.
Pretty freakin badass.
The ogs of the pmc game. Another person that will never be replicated today is Mad Mike Hoare.
MAD mike hoare the Moron of the Seychelle Affair if you want talk about mercenaire talk about Bob Denard
When you only have 100 million dollars and need a huge can of whip @$$!
If youve not read Barlows book about EP I recommend it along with his other book 'Composite Warfare'
This is what people miss in the gun debate. The UN deploys thousands of armed men in conflict zones around the world, and they get ran over every time. But mercenary groups with very limited budgets and significantly less manpower, achieve results in weeks. There's a huge difference between waving a gun around and actually being able to use it. If a Navy Seal went rogue in Texas for example, he will still take out a huge number of people regardless whether they're armed or not.
Easy to achieve “results” when you aren’t bound by rules of warfare and diplomacy.
Your comment only highlights your clear ignorance of real world politics
Are you assuming this navy seal has the us militaries equipment and resources behind him? Or does he just have a pistol and a knife like most Americans ? Chances are he won’t do exactly what you said. He’s not a super soldier
@@Bigman-fh1fzjust his will, wit and duct tape.
All would have paled in to insignificance if Zaire's Mobuto had succeeded in taking over the Selous Scouts Regiment as a private military force. Professional soldiers with no equal in Africa.
I dig the 90s vibe of this video.
The UN has never succeeded in Pease Keeping operations to date
Africa 80,s had to have beena banger.
Umm try the 1960s sparky
09:25 only 80 million?? That's a fair price even by 80s standards! Well spent money indeed
In my opinion papua new guinea shouldn't let the executive outcomes go home but to help the military to defeat rebels.
Strategy is everything. That is why EO thrived and still does. Eeben is a master strategist. That is his foundational skill. Not that he is warrior, a mercenary or anything else. He is a strategist.
If UNITA fell in such a short time against a small trained group confirms it was all SADF back then who did the fighting.
Not really. But it has to be said EO managed to defeat UNITA a few short weeks. Something the cubans failed to achieve in 16 years with 75 000 troops in country.
EO know how to defeat UNITA because they train and form them it’s kind of a betrayal

Good video but companys like this is not new. The German Hansa sold mercenaries thru their time and for as long as soldier have existed mercenaries have existed too.
Check your facts they exclusively recruited from the SADF....
Barlow himself claims they also recruited former ANC insurgents. SADF men weren't the only ones left unemployed when Apartheid fell after all.
Plus a lot of the former ANC guys then spent a couple of years in the post apartheid SANDF before leaving.
All I know is the Russians got fed up trying to train Angolan blacks during the South African bush war , I don't know how e o felt trying to train black anc ex soldiers , as far as i know unkonto was seen as the most useless army if you could have called them a army in Africa .
the drums at 14 minutes jumpscared me lmao the soundscape is so wide
I don't see Executive Outcomes existing for long in its current incarnation.
Let’s goooo
This was a mistake
predatory capitalism is Africas first name for all time
Ungrateful
LOL the conflict of africa can be best be summoned as predatory capatlism fighting predatory socialism and predatory socialism is wanting the lavish lifestyle that capatalism offers
Still have my payslip 😂
