Enjoyed this episode greatly !!! The mutual respect and honor between two men may never be compared. Such emotion 40 plus years later.
Watched Mark race MANY MANY Times in Wisconsin in 70’s and 80’s . Especially
Loved watching him race @Slinger . He ALWAYS HAD Immaculately Prepared Cars EVERYWHERE he raced.
Awesome interview. I grew up in Florida and went to the WS at New Smyrna all through the 70's and 80's and remember seeing you win it in 1978. It is not the same now, all the cars look the same. Thanks for taking the time to make these podcasts and sharing your memories. Great times back then!
18:10 I was 12 years old when he came to Pensacola for the Snowball Derby.
My dad said "that kid can drive". After that he was always my dad's favorite driver.
I think MM was the best driver that never got the Cup. Kinda leaves me sad that he never did.
Oh he did, circa 1990 but NASCAR absolutely screwed him over. Makes me sick even thinking about it.
In another interview with Mark Martin & with myself being Canadian i liked how Mark mentioned Canadian stock-car legend #72 Junior Hanley & how much Hanley played a role in Mark's racing career.
Excellent listen! Wish Mark Rusty and Ken Schrader. Would sit and talk about Larry Phillips. Without beating him I’m not so sure we would even know of these great drivers. I would really be interested in that.
thank you Mark, your secret to success is eating a couple pounds of M&M's. Love it.
Mark has always been my racing "hero." I was just a around 10 or so when he was just starting to really stomp em on the Artgo and Asa series, couldn't wait to get to the track the next weekend to get a copy of Checkered flag racing news to see who won.
What a great interview!
Yeah!!!!! This is gonna be good!
It`s amazing how much more money is spent on just a little bit better performance of today`s cars.
Yes cars are a lot safer and made to run more reliable than back then, but going from a shoestring budget to multi - million dollar amounts is mind boggling.
I wonder if this is starting to disillusion race fans.
