....man, this ending is nasty, I didn't realise the extended DLC turned around and made the low EMS ending even MORE painfully bleak, Normandy is trashed with most likely a few fatalities (Jeff for certain, probably broke EVERYTHING on impact), the Relays are annihilated rather than just badly damaged, Earth is toast and all the lovely scenes of promising rebuilding from higher EMS are missing, just Hackett's tired voice....
I actually kinda like this ending. It shows the horrors of war really well and how much cost of life it takes to end one. But it also tells us that, despite everything, that it was still a victory. Stargazer and child are proof the universe recovered and destroying the Reapers were worth the blood that was paid.
That stargazer and the child are probably on a remote world a good enough distance away from a relay. They could be less than a thousand survivors in the entire galaxy. All without communication or knowledge of salvaged space faring tech. Its beautiful that they live after the reapers. But its sad they will no longer rebuild their place in the galaxy again. They are planetbound and could be forever...

People hated the endings. People rebelled on every single social networking site and drew pitchforks on Reddit/etc. EA named Worst Company in America - EA's stock PLUMMETED. Result: Extended Cut and free multiplayer DLC. There is always more than one way to kill a giant.
I just realised- You come full circle with the music. At the end, when you have the man telling the child about the story, it's playing the exact same music as on the ME1 menu, which is exactly where you start off in all of this.
The cycles end regardless though, it's just a matter of when. No matter what your EMS is and what you pick, as long as you use the Crucible the Reapers stop harvesting. (either because they're dead/Shep is controlling them/we are all assimilated into the kumbaya borg). Even in Refusal, it's implied the cycle after Shepard's is able to stop the Reapers and end the cycles because of the information in Liara's time capsules.
This has actually made the EC DLC even better IMO. I got the best Destroy ending, but now that i've seen the worst, I can finally see how much different the endings are from one another in the EC even with the same endign choice.

I think Anderson may have changed his mind if he had met the Catalyst and known that there is a Synthesis ending. In the Synthesis ending, everyone is happy (even though the ending is daft and makes no damn sense).

Well, we knew this one was going to be bleak. I watched it because I play too much MP to get this one. Nice job putting the vids together. With the promotions I've done in MP I ended up with EMS over 9000 so got the best EC Destroy.
If your EMS is low, the option given to you in the end depends on weather or not you destroyed the collector base. Imho that only makes sense if its actually you who subconsciously chooses the option based on your memories and the path you chose in the past, not the catalyst. Have fun drawing conclusions from that.
If you destroy the Collector base, you can only get the Destroy ending (at low EMS). Conversely, if you save the Collector base then you are only able to choose the Control ending (at low EMS, again).
Low EMS causes multiple cutscene changes to the forces (Sword gets smashed up, Hammer gets mostly shot down, Shield takes heavy casualties), causes the fate of Earth to change (widespread destruction and death on low EMS) and changes the final cutscene to reflect the amount of death and destruction caused. Finally, as answer to your Stargazer question, the female Stargazer is attained if you reject the Catalyst, because humanity was wiped out, the new Stargazer is not human and female.
Presumably because everything is destroyed. The Crucible took too much damage I suspect. Its not shown explicitly in the video but the AI on the Citadel does comment on the damage level and status of the crucible when you ask him for more details about the destoy option. If its not damaged with high EMS, it will say it appears to be largely intact for instance.
Agreed. I'm glad that they added to the endings so that they make sense and feel as though they are worth the sacrifice and play time. However, I like to have a few different accounts with different approaches to the story and now it's impossible to get an ending like this on any of them.

The Crucible is better because you have more War Assets who worked on the Crucible. If you like at the War Assets on the panel, it gets really specific on what elements of the Crucible make this possible.
EA has and always will be a publisher that thrives solely on acquisition. It's an unfortunate situation. I still enjoy Dragon Age with Mass Effect, and EA delayed Dragon Age by an entire YEAR to get it right. A few people refusing to buy isn't going to solve the problem - people forcing EA to correct their methods is the right direction.
Basically, if you're in this situation with low EMS, and you destroyed the Collector Base back in Mass Effect 2... ...You're better off just taking the refusal option at that point - Because considering what comes next, Refusal is a far better alternative than what Low EMS destroy does.

In the end all that rebellion got us almost nothing. Four months for an "improved yet the same" ending and no RELEVANT SP DLC as of now. So... You and everyone else can deny all you want but NO ONE can do ANYTHING to change this. The only solution is to take up arms and invade EA HQ.

you would have to try really hard to get this since they lowered the requirements, at 2,000 ems your crew lives, earth is charred, at 3,000 ems crew saved, earth is saved and at 3,500 earth saved, crew saved, shep lives. You would have to purposely try to get this ending. You could screw the krogan, kill geth, an only achieve an 60 % galactic readiness rating and still get 2,000 ems.

If you have LOW ems and DESTROYED the collector base, then you only get the destroy option. If you SAVED the collector base with LOW ems, then you only get the control ending. I think he will die in this Shell made of steel, when oxygen gone empty (without live systems this will happen very fast). I think he know that, cause he says thinks like "we know the chance of victory was small at best" and "but we victorious" like it was worth it.
I think Hackett made it out of Milky Way and later returned, the Red Energy explosion affected only our galaxy, nut after it, you see in the video. But even that, his ship's runs out of energy and he will probably going to die due to lack of oxygen later... He just hope that survivors keep going, to make all this horror and high price worth.

No, EMS affects what endings are available and how good they are (like if Shepard survives, in the destroy ending). They lowered the requirements for them with the EC, and made tweaks like adding this version of destroy, and adding the refusal ending, but it's still the case.
Hmm, a lot like the Shepard Dies ending to ME2. You have to actively try for that one too, lol. I like the EC's version of this ending, really brings back that "too dumb to live" feeling from screwing up the Suicide Mission. XD

I love how the "Destroy" ending is both the worst and best ending of the game. Worst because if your EMS is too low everyone on Earth will die, not just the Reapers. And the best cause if your EMS is high enough then Shepard will be shown still alive.
I'll be honest; this ending in particular I believe should have been left alone, in the original one I understood it easily: You fucked up badly you have a bad crucible thus all life in the galaxy gets wiped out, the cut scenes they had for it explained this nicely and worked like poetry with just the music track, Now it that poetry has been somewhat ruined, how did Hackett and that other guy survive? and who else survived? way to sweaten the bittersweat ending Sometimes less is more
yeah thats what happened the first time I beat the game. I thought destroying them would be best thing to do. When the shockwave was wiping out all life on earth I was thinking "oops"
All the endings seem ok , the refusal ending too, since its implied that the reapers cannot be destroyed through conventional means.....the protheans and every other race in the previous cycles tried it, and assuming they were much more advanced than all the current races combined, they failed to defeat the reapers without the crucible. So ,in that ending,the cycle continues.
I will say that the MP dlc being free has NOTHING to do with fans being angry. Their store gets quite a lot of money from just transactions. But yes, the Extended cut is free due to fans "drawing pitchforks". If anyone has a problem, scream loud enough for them to hear. I'll say right now I'm content, but if you're not? Go ahead and yell. Helps me out in the future anyways.
I see no change in Bioware. They created the best game of the century. Mass effect 1,2 and 3 were all masterpeaces. (Now that these endings exsist). Hands down the best game I have ever played.
I'm not crying about it, I'm observing that unless what you do has a financial impact on them, they don't care. (Also, its possible to be a profitable business without being a douche). The only way to affect them financially is with your wallet. They didn't care about the protest, they cared that people were angry enough to not give them more money. If everyone was like "I dont like this but I'm still going to give you money" they wouldn't have given a fuck.

For an advanced, ancient race, the Reapers have a pretty rudimentary/childish solution for solving issues.

So, ultimately, after three games, and loads of work...
... you destroy everything you tried to save.

My guess is the female Stargazer is only at Refusal because they were unable to get Buzz Aldrin back to rerecord new lines.
The person probably didn't do any side missions, didn't search any world, and lost Krogan support.

Hmm, a lot like the Shepard Dies ending to ME2. You have to actively try for that one too, lol. I like the EC's version of this ending, really brings back that "too dumb to live" feeling from screwing up the Suicide Mission. XD

I knew there were diference with low EMS but I gotta say I'm amused by the brat's reaction. "Why are you even here Shepard?"."Shouldn't you be dead in a ditch?".Nope, all I had to do is sit around and wait for the Crucible, cuz it's going to get build regardless.I like his non-friendly welcome TBH ,cuz with high EMS I had a feeling it was going to give me cookies with the 3 choices.
About 600 or so. I edited the save so everything except a few things gave 1 point.
I love how the "Destroy" ending is both the worst and best ending of the game. Worst because if your EMS is too low everyone on Earth will die, not just the Reapers. And the best cause if your EMS is high enough then Shepard will be shown still alive.
Oh damn imagine replaying the entire trilogy and end up with this ending :o would be so depressing
I hate how Harbinger didn't say a single word throughout the game. You think he'd at least say hello.
I'll be honest; this ending in particular I believe should have been left alone, in the original one I understood it easily: You fucked up badly you have a bad crucible thus all life in the galaxy gets wiped out, the cut scenes they had for it explained this nicely and worked like poetry with just the music track,
Now it that poetry has been somewhat ruined, how did Hackett and that other guy survive? and who else survived? way to sweaten the bittersweat ending

yeah thats what happened the first time I beat the game. I thought destroying them would be best thing to do. When the shockwave was wiping out all life on earth I was thinking "oops"
All the endings seem ok , the refusal ending too, since its implied that the reapers cannot be destroyed through conventional means.....the protheans and every other race in the previous cycles tried it, and assuming they were much more advanced than all the current races combined, they failed to defeat the reapers without the crucible. So ,in that ending,the cycle continues.
I will say that the MP dlc being free has NOTHING to do with fans being angry. Their store gets quite a lot of money from just transactions. But yes, the Extended cut is free due to fans "drawing pitchforks". If anyone has a problem, scream loud enough for them to hear. I'll say right now I'm content, but if you're not? Go ahead and yell. Helps me out in the future anyways.

I see no change in Bioware. They created the best game of the century. Mass effect 1,2 and 3 were all masterpeaces. (Now that these endings exsist).

I'm not crying about it, I'm observing that unless what you do has a financial impact on them, they don't care. (Also, its possible to be a profitable business without being a douche). The only way to affect them financially is with your wallet. They didn't care about the protest, they cared that people were angry enough to not give them more money. If everyone was like "I dont like this but I'm still going to give you money" they wouldn't have given a fuck.
