  • In todays Tips from Mike, McGovney talks to us about our line and rod versatility in some more depth, applying the principles to a fishing scenario, fishing sea-run cutthroat on our Micro Skagit 4wt rods. This applies to bass, steelhead, or whatever fish you're chasing.

Looks super fun! I have the 9'9" 3wt with a 150 grain smooth line and absolutely love it. Never tried a standard WF on it though. What line weight would you recommend if I wanted to dabble with it?

Our 3-5wt Micro Skagit rods are true to WF lines, but they do very well with lines rated a half weight heavier. So, a WF line that is rated @ 3.5wt would be great with our 3wt.
