This has to be the most dark, yet weirdly wholesome movies out there. It was so sweet of the little girls to be so supportive of their widowed mother finding love again, despite mourning their father. Lots of kids in these situations tend to become angry and resentful and feel as though their dead parent is being replaced and forgotten about.

My mom died suddenly in April. This was one of our favorite movies. It's one of my all time comfort movies, immediately transporting me back to my teenage years, no worries except for school and still dreaming of what my life could be when I was finally an adult.
Both of us being a little witchie, and our family being very centered around the female members (Mom had 3 sisters, no brothers. Her mom had mostly sisters as well. My brother was the only boy out of 7 first cousins) the theme of sisterhood in this movie always resonated with us. No one will love you like your sisters, blood or found.
Thank you for letting me experience it for the first time again with you.

I love to sing the Stevie Nick's song, Cristal, because it calms me down and now I sing it to my baby. Also, I'm obsessed by the house. It is SO gorgeous! 💖 They are talking about making a sequel and I hope they will rebuild the house (it was just a set and they had to deconstruct it after filming 😢). The director of this film, Griffin Dunne played Jack, the best friend, in American Werewolf in London and the school teacher in My Girl. Stockard Channing (Aunt Francis) was Rizzo in Grease.
One of my favorites! Great soundtrack for sure! Love the cast in this. Midnight Margaritas is the best scene. Saw an interview and they got drunk in order to shoot the scene. Lol Looks like so much fun. 😊

Mom loved Sandra Bullock in the Lakehouse, and Speed. My dad’s favorite movie she was in was the Blind Side also an amazing film. She’s a wonderful actress. A View To Kill was also a great film she starred in.

This is by far my favorite fall/Halloween movie. I first saw it when I was 12 or 13 and instantly fell in love with it.

Fun fact: The little girl who plays Sally Owen’s (Sandra Bullock) daughter (the redhead) is Evan Rachel Wood, whose most recent role, I believe, was in the HBO series Westworld (2016-2022). In 2003, she starred in a dramatically disturbing teen movie THIRTEEN (2003) that everyone should watch, but that’s just my opinion! Any way, that’s all. 😅

I love the drunken table scene I mean Jimmy is probably influencing them to some extent but it the most realistic portrayal of a group of drunk friends. It’s funny banter but also hurtful at the same time but they all roll with it because alcohol it’s really well done

One of my fave films. This and Charmed, are essentially the same thing and came out the same month and year.
Also, I think Gillian showed up but they never moved from that spot and had that talk and time together all in their mind. We see throughout the film that all of them are connected.
Everyone down to the little girls are cast perfectly. Also something a lot of people miss is Sally & Gary are humming the same song while in the kitchen.
I have played Crystal by Stevie Nicks over and over, I'm so in love with that song. 💕

I love this movie... watched back then at the movie theater and it was great.... and shes right you know? the real craft has nothing to do with evil.... love the bond that they have and that saves them cause is true... theyre suppose to die the same day and it was not just yet, so glad you like the soundtrack too, youre so much like me, always enjoying music and sometimes it makes a huge differece on a movie....now you need to watch "The Craft" from 1996 with Robin Tunney and Neve Campbell and "Beautiful Creatures" from 2013 with Emma Thompson and Jeremy Irons, I think you'll like both a lot too... just like this one.... thank you for posting here your reaction Kemi

this is my favourite feel good movie
I was a child when this movie came out but my mom took me to see it at the theater and I immediately fell in love, with not only it, but the soundtrack, just like you have. I used to check the CD out of the library all the time, back before streaming was a thing. Now I have the soundtrack on Spotify and listen to it all the time. ❤️🎧

Haven't watched you reaction yet, I just want to say how excited I am that you're reacting to this. I'm Pagan and this is one of my feel good movies that I watch on the holidays. It's not a perfect movie, but I love this movie. Just the way they portray this family of witches is beautiful. They're planing a sequel and I'm nervous it'll be The Craft 2 [if you like books, the author wrote a sequel I loved called The Rules of Magic which follows the aunts as young adults]
Edit: Watched your video. I think the film wants you to think it was physical, but from a Pagan perspective, it was probably astral/spiritual. We see Jillian in her car, but the time it takes her to drive across country is 1 Joni Mitchell song long, so go with what you feel works. Personally, she visited Sally spiritually.
LOVE the soundtrack. I'm lucky to have a physical copy. Last I checked Spotify was missing a few songs, but you can find it on UA-cam.

i generally don't go for the 'chick flicks', but this is one of my all time favorites. stellar casting throughout.
fun fact about the people back in the old days: Girl let just say it was stinky. the earliest bathroom was worse. sometimes houses would be build over something close to what an underpass was and their bathroom would be a hole, so if someone walked through at the wrong time, they got messy. And they had a mild idea on water that things messy will eventually all sink to the bottom but they didn't think about it being disturbed so their wells I forget how but it was connected to their sewage so the water that they were scooping up from the wells wasn't as clean to begin. and they also didn't heat it either. They believed hot water would put them at risk of illness so it was cold water until a few centuries later. Also they shared their bath water. when one person in a medieval family was done let say dad was first, mama was second, then one by one was the kids so by the time the last person used that bath water imagine how filthy it was.
i love this movie.i'm glad it happened so these 4 women could work together.

I love this movie so much and it was the first time I saw the actress Evan Rachel Wood who plays Sally's red headed daughter and also the first time I saw Camilla Belle whom played Sally when she was younger...hell this might have been my first Nichol Kidman movie I can't remember now. Any way grate reaction as always and by the way when filming this movie the cast and crew did have a few things happen on set like doors in the house opening on their own and such which freaked them out at times. Such a good soundtrack and the horror is scary but it's not too bad really compared to others. I wouldn't exactly call this a horror movie it's more supernatural thriller but that's just me.

Crystal is a very old song. The earliest recording was by Buckingham Nicks which was released before Stevie and Lindsey joined Fleewtood Mac. It is beautiful and you should definitely give it a listen as well as the Fleetwood Mac version. Stevie is timeless!!!!
