I too have made several shooting tabs, that is about all I hunt with anyone, I have my old glove in my pack incase I loose the tab in the field somehow. The arm guard, I use, strictly to hold my clothing away from the string. I have hit my clothes hunting and or shooting with my hunting clothes on. They don't recommend stringing without a bow stringer, because a lot of folks don't know how to string a bow correctly with out one, so they recommend you use one to lessen the chance of limb damage from un proper stringing. Last year, I hunted with my recurve during blackpowder and rifle, it is just a lot more challenging fun for me as well. I have limited out many times with my compound doing the same thing, plan is to start doing it with a recurve. May well happen this year. Several of the public lands I hunt it is deer only, no squirrels, turkeys etc, It is weird hunting and not being able to draw on a turkey or small game, but learning to work around that rule. Congrats on the retirement. I love the gift, it is a great gift sir. Looks like you have a really great camp set up. Fleetwood makes a great bow. I have a one piece one I have used around the house just to stay in shape, its a 40 pound bow. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have the success you need in the field this year. Keep up the fun videos and have a blessed week sir.
    Dale

Thanks for stopping by Dale. There's something about the simplicity of stick and string that fits so well in the uncomplication of retirement. Now I'm not at all opposed to compounds and crossbows. As long as my bow tech can find parts for my Parker it will still go with me to the woods. All the best to you and yours. Blessings. David

Do you unstring your bow when not in use?

Yes, you should. Over time the bow will loose its draw weight, and will bend. Thus, eventually rendering it useless as you won't have any power.
