I'm really enjoying Historic Brawl tbh, so I'm here for it! And I'll take this cue to suggest you to try out Yorion with Inavsion of Arcavios. It's been 5 months, CGB. Bring the bird back!
It's very important to learn how to play agains these deck, your tips are always welcome. Which deck is harder to play against in the format, besides Atraxa and Etali, did you think guys?
For what it's worth, mate, I prefer your Historical Brawl videos, because it's (entertaining) content I don't get anywhere else. Also, I agree that Standard is still dull.
I like the additions of some bounce spells from the typical build, but you're definitely missing an obvious one: Ghalta, Primal Hunger (costs GG a lot of times), and perhaps the Icebreaker Kraken, since it can be cheap too with snow lands. Tyrranax Rex is another good one since it's uncounterable and has haste, etc
I have broken my way into the atraxa queue a few times with RaggaDragga and with Grolnok. I'm not the best player, but Historic Brawl is fun. :) and I love watching CGB play it as well.
Historic Brawl is fine, and frankly anything you enjoy playing comes across well. I tried Standard BO1 and Jesus Christ, in 27 matches: 12 monored, 13 white+other, 2 monoblack. Pass.
I honestly thought that I was in hell queue because I keep getting Atraxa and Jodah. Love the historic brawl content. It's the only format I play now because I can reuse all of my cards.
Arjuna wold love this stuff he is a big simic mtg player and bigg green if i remember right i still miss the pod cast it was the best content you too till rock very cool 😊
Why did his sliver opponent not get the chance to put the first sliver in the command zone when he timetwistered, is that something just in brawl? I thought any change in zone gave you the choice?
Can someone explain why the opponent in game 2 (i guess) didnt put their commander into command zone instead of shuffling it away. Because the rules (at least of commander) say if the commander would leave any zone, the next time a player gets priority its owner may put it into the command zone. Ty
@@colefreestone1508 This is incorrect, I think Arena may be bugged? Rule 903.9b states "If a commander would be put into its owner's hand or library from ANYWHERE, its owner may put it into the command zone instead."
@@colefreestone1508 The "Commander" property is tied to the card itself not the zone. This is why in EDH attacking opponents with a copy of your commander does not deal commander damage.
For standard! maybe some decks to beat mono red and soldiers! maybe some of us will pick that up and we can nodge the meta ! as for historic brawl! I really like it! its just extra super nonensens! keep it up!
I would in theory really enjoy historic brawl, both playing and viewing, but the early concessions are out of control. It's like people just play to do their cool thing and if it looks like they're not going to do their cool thing and their opponent is instead doing their cool thing, they concede on the spot. The end result is no one ever gets to have fun doing their cool thing, and the viewers don't get to watch much of it either. If there were events or leagues you could do with prizes on the line or even just a ladder, that would lead to a much more fun playing and viewing experience as it would provide some incentive to not concede immediately when things aren't going your way.
Heck yeah!!! By far one of my favorite commanders in HB. Once the engine gets going, it's pretty hard to stop, especially the cascading cascades (pun intended).
7:17 Instead of putting titan on top of the lib, you could have put commit on top, and then cast henge to cascade into commit? Or did I miss something?
Can't believe CGB is actually calling for Atraxa Grand Unifier to either be banned or slotted into hell queue. I couldn't agree more. The card is absolutely stupid as a commander that keeps coming back for endless value. The fact that Arena hasn't jammed her right into hell queue from the start is a detriment to the format. And yet people claimed that Ragavan was unfair....doesn't even compare to the value Atraxa gets. MTGA just do the right thing and ban her.
@@CorneliusQvist oh really? Is that why the same people end up in pro tours year after year? They must just be that much luckier than everyone else I guess. Crazy
@@rodgoesinya9947 I think you need to calm down a bit, my man 😅 Check out the win rates of the people you mention. A pro athlete will beat someone way worse than them at their discipline a 100% of the time. In MtG it’s closer to 50% than 100. Nothing wrong with that, but your argument about “rng” is completely nonsensical in a game where randomness is literally the foundation. But I’m sure when you get land screwed it’s the opponent’s skill and when you have a perfect land draw ratio, it’s your personal level of skill - right? 😂😂😂
@Cornelius Qvist I'm cool as a cucumber, princess. Again, same people, pro tour, year after year. That's more than luck. Now you're saying it's 50 percent. 20 minutes ago it was 90? That dropped quickly. It's almost like you're pulling these numbers out of your behind
That Seagate Restoration cascading into River's Rebuke was crazy. I wouldn't even have thought of targeting myself. :D
One time I targeted my own Goldspan Dragon with a Spikefield Hazard to get a treasure token so I could Counterspell :3
Every win is unique. Every win is cruel. 10/10
Casdacing, Everyone knows it, Everyone loves it!!!

The Atraxa match showed exactly the BS the shuffler will pull to make sure you lose. Never seen that many sad cascades in a row.
I like it when CGB also gives strategies on how to beat his decks, not only how to play it.
Absolutely insane play at 47:20. You’re amazing man!

The last game was an absolute showdown on why Magic is amazing
I enjoy watching your HB videos, so I am super down to watch more HB with the LotR set
Love the videos, always stay till the end! And yes HB is a lot more fun to watch and play, you do you man!

omg that sea gate restoration play was so freaking sweet.
Flip my free dopamine off the top of the library please Imoti
There's a reason why my fav EDH deck is named "Maelstrom Roulette."

Casdace-ing is my favorite thing to do in Brawl! 😂😂
The problem with playing too much interaction are the cascade fizzles. 3 counters are ideal for me.

I love how he matches against atraxa game 1 after saying imoti is like kinnan but not in atraxa queue
You know the state of standard is bad when sensei's historic brawl videos feel like a breath of fresh air. I wish the format was more competitive.
THAT was a near perfect intro.
Well... That rebuke my own board was just 500 iq play of the century! Wow 💓

rolf at end of the video
Finally imoti :)) I've Played this deck for like a month but I could really use some advice on how to make it better
10:20 the commander changed zone (from hand to library) so they could have put it back in the command zone right?
God those first two games are just a complete massacre 😂😂
21:38 Does the name "CovertGoBlue" scares them a lot like this?
love all the brawl content recently
beautiful rebuke play
When the commander moves from the hand to the deck he technicly changes zones, why dont you get the Option of moving it to the command zone?
Recently you've had opponents making some really questionable decisions to concede.

Is there a que of all of them, a blended que? With both the hellque + the regular que?
standard is also the atraxa queue
Gonna have to start an Atraxa's Anonymous after that one

How does going from hand to library not count as changing zones?
I love Historic Brawl! It's all I play.
This is so much fun to watch ❤
Yaaas more historic brawl
Why couldn't the other player put their commander in the command zone at 9:55? This seems opposed to the game rules.
47:30 that´s why HB is the best format on Arena

CGB, you ok? Casdace Combo? ❤
Game 1. Opponent got 3 atraxa triggers and never got to play anything!
Historic Brawl good
Typo in the title
true
ngl these alchemy cards are pretty interesting.
Casdace 😂
Soul of windgrace in standard? Jodah superfriends?
Typo in the title, "Casdace"

Instead of putting titan on top of the lib, you could have put commit on top, and then cast henge to cascade into commit?
Or did I miss something?
He didn't have the mana for henge. The creature produces mana only for creature spells.
I’m all good with Historic Brawl the more the better! I would love to love Alchemy but it failed too much and it just needs to go burn in a hole now
Anyone know when they are going to move Atraxa FFS
Brutal
I did copy the first version with no interaction. Was good but not this good
zero interaction is way more fun, every cascade is useful... ok ok one rebuke and one kogla but that's it
Yay
Yeah, I am pretty sure Atraxa will be banned in the future.
She'll get moved to hell Q at some point and she'll be fine there
atraxa def needs a ban lol
Sup ? Da Fuq's going on ?
❤️ For more HB
Simic is da best
Lol even my werewolves win against atraxa
Minor spelling mistake
@10:01 "if they're smart they'll discard their commander to hand size" can any one explain why?

Simic ❤
