A lot has changed in 5 years, Trevor. Some things haven't changed...your ability to inspire, bring the passion, and produce great content. This was awesome! I really enjoyed it.
Trevor it was so very pleasing to meet you and Ash at starfest 2022. I did end up getting my rig running for the second night and shot the lagoon. I always love to see your ever improving images of Andromeda c s!
I remember watching that first Andromeda camping video you're referring to. I actually watched it again the other day and I'm aware that other things happened not long after to change your life. So I can only imagine how profound and impactful this image must be to you and I'm sure you're going to treasure this trip for many years to come. Thanks for the fun vlog mate and absolutely great image at the end. Amazing how far we can progress in the time given
It was so nice to meet you man, and Ashley! You guys are so great. Starfest was such a blast. Meeting the ones i've been talking to for months was awesome. This event was unforgettable. Great shot of M31. And thank you for taking the time to chat :).
Awesome photos, especially the side by sides is show that there is little change in the Galaxy, but a big change in the photography technology for picture quality....nice work!
What a great example of how you can progress if you stick to something for a long time! And how cool is it that you have filmed everything in between for 5 straight years? That's dedication for you :-). Thanks so much for the vlogs, keep 'em coming!
And just like that, once again the bar is raised! - Holy mother of progress man, I remember watching your 5 years ago M31 vid (seems like last week, lol!) and I have to say not only has your photography gone to another level completely but your productions are in another galaxy of their own! You're out here making Netflix quality productions at this point, it's absolutely wild to see and near impossible to appreciate the effort this must take! Just incredible man, mad respect :-) Clear skies!
I need to hear more about this observatory trailer at 5:35. I've repeatedly joked about building one with my friends. And I like Ash's enthusiasm at 6:45
Fabulous result, and another wonderful video! I’m sure I’m not alone in wondering - even asking - if you would do a video showing your gear & settings you used to shoot the Andromeda galaxy at the starfest, and how you processed to get such detail, contrast and also bring out the ha and blue star forming regions. And of course, some more of Ash’s imaging results too!
So glad you uploaded a new vid! Needed an AstroBackyard shot! Great photo and what a difference 5 years make! Thanks Treveor for being an inspiration for so many like me.
What a lovely video and a very clean M31. I remember very well your capture of 5 yrs ago. I dare to say that video was my inspiration to start imaging myself, which undoubtedly has enriched my life. Thanks Trevor!
Awesome image Trevor!!!!! The progression in skills have much improved, my skills currently are pretty close to your M31 from 5yrs. ago, getting better slowly and learning new tricks often!!!!
Starfest looked awesome. I've never gone to a star party like that before.. I need to give it a try. Amazing how much better then 2022 shot is. Just an across the board improvement. :)
You just have to go back to those old favorites as your skills and equipment improve. We are never satisfied with our current work for long. Great image! A recent article in Astronomy magazine (Aug 2022) has inspired me to do a series of M31 images over a month or so to see if I can detect the Cepheid variable M31-V1. After 9 days, by golly, I think I see the little bugger.
I was recently thinking of reshooting M31 myself and comparing it to my first in 2018 (not counting my attempts with film in 1986!) It’s encouraging to see how our skills evolve!
Such an amazing video and picture! Congrats Trevor!!! Would love a comparison like this but using the same equipment you had 5 years ago, just to show what proper technique and editing can do :)
Great work Trevor! It's so cool to see the progress we make over the years in this hobby. From locations, to processing, and gear changes. All I can say is keep doing what you love no matter what anybody else tells you. But always remember to look up with your own eyes and enjoy God's amazing creation above us.
Awesome improvement Trevor, that's a wonderful image! Where's Ashley's M33 image? Did you really win? 😉 Although I love your videos, reviews, and tutorials; I'm more aligned with her experience, so it would be nice to see her astro photos as well....
Hi Trevor another fabulous video u always inspire as u do me all the time with every new video i wish we got the weather but its just awful in the uk at the moment but fingers crossed soon we will get our clear skies and the first object i am going to do is Andromeda will share it with you on twitter when I do again Trevor thank you so much for all your amazing videos and...... CLEAR SKIES BUD
Thank you so much for posting this video. You are an inspiration to me to take the best astrophotography picture I can do. My wife is supportive with this hobby so I’m able to get a decent couple of days per month under clear skies to take some photos. They’re nowhere near what you do but I’m sort of getting in the ballpark of what can be done. You rock! Can you at least like this video so I can show my wife I’m learning from you! (which means I can justify spending time on UA-cam lol) edit: spelling
I would love to get an image of the Andromeda Galaxy but it is a bit far north from my position in the south-east of Australia. Well done on the capture and providing wonderful ongoing content about your astro journey!
3.00 that weather remind me when I prepared my camera and gears for 2016 total solar eclipse in Indonesia 🙄. I had been waiting for that total solar eclipse for 10 years since I was junior high schooler.
It’s amazing living on this tiny dot. The images you share with all your fellow space junkies fuels and stirs that feeling even more. How special and fortunate we humans are. Ashley’s Triangulum image turned out okay?
Wow Trevor, your 2017 image was good, but your 2022 image was outstanding 😀 Im going to have to do Andromeda again now! Puts mine to shame🤣 Thanks for sharing and clear skies!
Watching your video while shooting Andromeda myself. My picture won’t be anywhere quite as amazing as either of yours. How much of the differences between them would you chalk up to changes in equipment vs processing techniques?
Your Andromeda video from 2017 was my inspiration into my Astrophotography journey. Thank you for all work you put into your videos. They are still a major source of my inspiration! Thank you again from astrophoto_doug
I loved shooting astrophotography through this video it changed my whole life for the better sir I am very happy and grateful to you thank you for supporting the efforts of beginners thank you 🙏🌠💫
Great job with the imaging, always love seeing what you create. I also forgot some Canadians spoke French so I got confused on the French part of the tornado warning ( I can read some French so yee)
What a coincidence, I shoot the same target on the 26th August 2022 from a bortal 3 site in the UK. This was the only clear night during our two week vacation.
After seeing your videos constantly, I decided to do astrophotography as my hobby. I purchased most of the things but I’m not sure which tripod is good for my setup which is not very expensive and sturdy with all the stuff that I have. I’ve already purchased star adventurer 2i pro pack, skywatcher Evostar 72 APO Doublet refractor, Canon 6D and few accessories.
Just a thought... I started-out with the 1st model Star Adventurer, and picked-up a used Meade telescope tripod on CloudyNights Classifieds. I built a mount-point adapter out of wood, and it worked great! I think I got that tripod for under $125, and then sold it 2 years later for the same amount.
Clearly a big difference over 5 years. But how much of that improvement would you put down to your better experience in capturing images vs better imaging equipment vs improved skill in post-processing? I'm sure it's a combination of them all but is there one that has shifted the needle more than the others?
Long life to Ash, Rudy and you !!! 5 years is so short and so long at the same time. How long is the Mosaic Exposure ??? I began a 4x4 Mosaic (10k px x 10k px) on M31 end of July and August. And just dived into the PixInsight world.
Thank you for a rookie like me to learn about our universe & setup in English caption. A deaf guy like me wants to learn more about the universe we all live in.
The comparison between the 2017 and 2022 Andromeda galaxy pictures is very much like the comparisons we have seen lately between Hubble and James Webb telescopes...just without the six-spikes diffraction pattern... 🙂
That is awesome Trevor! Will we get to see Ashley's Triangulum image some time? Great job as always.
8:59 The difference is 5 years is simply stunning!😲
Your first video on Andromeda is what got me hooked on this hobby. I can not explain how grateful I am for that.
A lot has changed in 5 years, Trevor. Some things haven't changed...your ability to inspire, bring the passion, and produce great content. This was awesome! I really enjoyed it.

9:35 On the left we see Hubble, on the right JWST

Awesome photos, especially the side by sides is show that there is little change in the Galaxy, but a big change in the photography technology for picture quality....nice work!
It’s amazing what you have accomplished in the past five years! Here’s to the next five! Looking forward to another Andromeda shot in 2027!
What a great example of how you can progress if you stick to something for a long time! And how cool is it that you have filmed everything in between for 5 straight years? That's dedication for you :-). Thanks so much for the vlogs, keep 'em coming!

I saw your video you made 5 years ago, about 3 years ago today. It got me back into the hobby. Thank you!
Great video! It’s amazing how much your channel has grown over the years! Keep up the good work.
Such a great experience! Fab image👏
Was awesome meeting you both and I look forward to next year!!
Fabulous result, and another wonderful video!

Trevor , As always another great video. You pulled out a lot more detail this year. Awesome job.
Thanks a lot for all what you did to share your passion, it’s helping a lot! Cieli sereni!
What a great trip, I’m so jealous. Cracking image and I love how you lined them up and revealed the new image. Nice!!!
Wow, already 5 years passed since you uploaded this video, and this was the video that brought me into astrophotography.
Thank you Trevor.
Congratulations Trevor, your video is a delight, as always. Greetings from Spain.
I just booked for StarFest 2023...I hope you guys are planning on coming too!
Starfest looked awesome. I've never gone to a star party like that before.. I need to give it a try.

I love your channel so much. It just inspires me.
Trevor, your videos are so inspiring. Keep up the great work!
I can only dream of capturing an image like your 2017 one, but your latest, 2022.
OMG, breathtaking 🤩
Amazing Trevor, just love your videos
Very nice andromeda Trevor!!! I used your processing guide to process mine as well
I love the way you add the human element to your work.
very cool video, really enjoy all your vids but this one especially. Your camper is off the hook cool,,,
Great vid (as usual) Trevor!! 'Looking forward to meeting you at Okie-Tex in a few weeks! I hope Ash and Rudy are coming with you.
Nothing better than seeing improvements in your own work! Someday I’ll image Andromeda…
I was recently thinking of reshooting M31 myself and comparing it to my first in 2018 (not counting my attempts with film in 1986!) It’s encouraging to see how our skills evolve!
So awesome Trevor! Thanks for everything you do
One really good picture...and one spectacular one! 🤩
Such an amazing video and picture! Congrats Trevor!!!

Man, that is GORGEOUS!

Awesome! Really appreciate your work and inspiration. Great video. Thanks a lot! 🪐✨👍👍👌✌️
ok, I don't know why, but I got teary at the end of this one....great video!
Same here with the music I was just getting chills looking at it. I can't imagine the feeling when I will actually see it with the naked eye.
That is an amazing photo of Andromeda... It makes me feel so small.
Wow, M31 has really grown up 🤣
Nice to see the new gear is paying off. Absolutely superb shot.
Wow, superior imaging / processing , it's hard to improve on perfection (Ash) but Trevor , you seem to to it every video !!
That's just fantastic. Thank you!

love your videos - inspiring and really cool!
Any idea what tent / portable observatory that person was using at 4:40? I've been looking for something exactly that size!
I would love to get an image of the Andromeda Galaxy but it is a bit far north from my position in the south-east of Australia. Well done on the capture and providing wonderful ongoing content about your astro journey!
watching you for four years. love your videos . I hope to meet you someday.
2:51 that looks just like a scene from the movie Twister. 🌪
3.00 that weather remind me when I prepared my camera and gears for 2016 total solar eclipse in Indonesia 🙄. I had been waiting for that total solar eclipse for 10 years since I was junior high schooler.
Great video and picture, Trevor! M31 will be always magic.
Will we also see Ash's galaxy?
Ash face when they fixed the power issue is priceless haha glad it worked out
It’s amazing living on this tiny dot.
Really great job bro....i watched your some videos you are awesome
Trevor, great image! I just saw you'll be at Okie-Tex. See ya there!
Great video!!!
Watching your video while shooting Andromeda myself. My picture won’t be anywhere quite as amazing as either of yours. How much of the differences between them would you chalk up to changes in equipment vs processing techniques?
I second this question! It seems like processing skill makes the biggest difference.
Your Andromeda video from 2017 was my inspiration into my Astrophotography journey. Thank you for all work you put into your videos. They are still a major source of my inspiration! Thank you again from astrophoto_doug
5 years of Dedication on this target, It totally Hits different!
Amazing Trevor thanks for sharing 😊
I loved shooting astrophotography through this video it changed my whole life for the better sir I am very happy and grateful to you thank you for supporting the efforts of beginners thank you 🙏🌠💫
Great job with the imaging, always love seeing what you create.
I also forgot some Canadians spoke French so I got confused on the French part of the tornado warning ( I can read some French so yee)

@@jameschase9002 cool! thanks for the idea. 👏
Awesome shot, really great improvement.. and hey if you ever want to do a star party in Australia...I can hook you up with Bortle 1..

I'm sure it's a combination of them all but is there one that has shifted the needle more than the others?
love your videos and the galaxy is soo pretty keep up the content and can you try to take a photo of the hour glass nebula but have a great day
Both great images but it is good to see improvements when imaging I know I have but I've still got a way to go, How did M33 turn out?
Clear skies!!
Long life to Ash, Rudy and you !!!
5 years is so short and so long at the same time.
How long is the Mosaic Exposure ???
I began a 4x4 Mosaic (10k px x 10k px) on M31 end of July and August.
And just dived into the PixInsight world.
Great job, Mr. Trevor!
Blown away!
this brings nostalgia to the needle galaxy
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
I agree with quite a few comments below: where is Ashley's M33 photo?
Love your videos! hopefully one day I can be fortunate enough to get a mount like yours and a good telescope!
Thank you for a rookie like me to learn about our universe & setup in English caption. A deaf guy like me wants to learn more about the universe we all live in.
Amazing!! I'm going to this party next year!!
The comparison between the 2017 and 2022 Andromeda galaxy pictures is very much like the comparisons we have seen lately between Hubble and James Webb telescopes...just without the six-spikes diffraction pattern... 🙂
I really like your videos this video is awesome looks like you guys had a great time who knows maybe I will get to meet you someday at a star party.
Beautiful.
The change we see in your two photos, is it a result of a different camera body, different optics, different processing, or something else?
How much of the change is data and how much is better post processing? Do you think you can get closer results from original light sets now?
The difference was like Hubble to the James Webb telescope! Awesome capture 👍🏻🍻
I'm exited
you should head to great lakes star gaze next coming up
Thank you for introducing me to this hobby
wow, much more details
Are you using the selective color tool to get those blues popping in the outter spiral arms? Fabulous image Trevor!
