Not sure if you know but Balinese in the villages sleep on hard surfaces often for the coolness, even my wife and kids do it and they have beds.

Apart from chickens and eggs, do they grow anything to be self sufficient at all?
Yes, chillies, garlic, vegetables, fruit depends on their land and their abilities
If you dig a little deeper everyone's broke they look poor but normally the kids etc have motorbikes and phones but if it makes you feel good go for it
None of the people we help have phones, electricity, refrigerators, air conditioning, and many don't even have a thin mattress to sleep on.
Real poverty still exists if you know where to look

How are dogs treated in Bali? The rest of Indonesia isn't kind but how about in Bali? If we have success with our warung, you are someone we would like to become involved with.

When you go to the countryside in Thailand they are all growing food or catching fish ..why have the Balinese forgotten how to feed themselves ? There are at least 100 fishing boats at virgin beach. Why aren’t they helping each other ? Maybe you need to teach them how to plant seeds and grow food or give them fishing rods to catch food , then they can be self sufficient. Not being mean it just makes more sense to me 🤷♀️
The people we help are mostly elderly or disabled. Can't get transport and live in remote areas. There is no pension or disability support here, it's up to the community to help
Making elderly people sit around in the heat to be filmed receiving very short term charitable solutions is in very poor taste. There are many ways to achieve charitable outcomes and awareness raising for future and ongoing donations while still respecting the dignity and privacy of these people. A bunch of aussies being filmed handing out food to make themselves feel good on holiday is also distasteful and reeks of ‘look at me doing good’. Yes I get the awareness raising helps generate more donations but are there more strategic and longer term plans to support the short term giving ? The website is disjointed with no transparency about the $$$ and broken links. 9:50
