Hi. I like the video of the fort stanton!! My parents both worked there from 1978 up untill it closed in 1995 when it was a facility for the mentally handicaped. we lived on the road that leads down past the old post office and my sister and i went to school in Capitan. My grandfather is burried at the front of the cemetery since he was a german prisoner transporter/guard back in WW2. My family and i have so many great memories from living there and was and still is a very interesting town for sure and hopefully you got to visit the old town of Lincoln just a few miles from the fort and also White oaks just a few miles past Carrizozo N.M and the ghost stories of all three towns are interesting as well!! Hope you enjoyed your time there!!
Steve Wheeler Awesome! It was a fun trip and very educational. Yes we did make it to Lincoln New Mexico. We got into a bad hail storm but it to was very educational. thanks for the comments and thanks for watching
Dude I had the same experience! Did you take the tour of Spencer theater? I camped at along the river rv park..In my experience tho.. I was about 2000 feet away from these soldiers dressed in old time fatigues.. and a branch fell and almost hit them. They laughed and dragged it away.. I asked the lady at the front if they had a show goin on or what... she said no, nobody but visitors have been through today.
That's awesome. I went on down to Lincoln and checked it out that day, but I dont believe I went to the Spencer. I do like checking out old theatres though. I'm terrible with the names but I checked out one in terlingua Texas and the famous one in tombstone
