Hope you have an awesome time!... BTW when you get back, could you please react to The Lonely Goomba's review of Spyro: Enter The Dragonfly? ua-cam.com/video/jEvNvVXPZR4/v-deo.html
3:30 - actually, YES, it was! It's a callback for the "NES Games Re-visited" video, where he tried to land the plane, and it ended up flying out the window.
This episode wasn't the only awesome AVGN related thing to come yesterday! On that same day, I got an Email from James Rolfe (AVGN himself), and he told me he just got the game I sent him! Not sure if I told you this, but a while ago I sent James a copy of the game "Spyro: Enter The Dragonfly" for Gamecube (which was often regarded as the worst Spyro game of all time!) So if there's ever gonna be an AVGN review of that game, I guess you'll have me to thank for it! XD
That's cool, didn't even know their was a spyro game for the game cube, love his response, short and sweet, when someone donates you a shitty game, and you have to be grateful, everyone must send him the worst game's ever created by man-kind, that's quite a burden he carries, having the worst games ever created in his collection, poor james, 😂
My name is Charlie Well said. XD BTW if you haven’t heard of Enter The Dragonfly, it’s basically Spyro’s equivalent of Tomb Raider: Angel Of Darkness!... So far I think the best review of the game would be The Lonely Goomba, until the Nerd reviews it that is!... in fact, could you react to The Lonely Goomba’s review of Spyro: Enter The Dragonfly? No doubt that would be awesome! Plus I don’t think anybody has ever reacted to it, so you have a chance to be the first! ;)
@@Supercatandrewman I have 2 Spyro games. 1 great and 1..... is terrible. 1 is Spyro: Year Of The Dragon for the PS1 which is one of favourite PS1 games (and I never beat it in 20 years because fuck having the collect EVERY EGG AND EVERY GEM) and the other terrible one being Spyro: Enter The Dragonfly for the PS2 which I played for about 2 days before I got bored of it. In other words, stick to the GOOD Spyro games.
I remember noticing how in the original review, he didn't finish this game. I'm happy to see that after many years he came back to finish this game once and for all.
The original AVGN episode made me think that the game had nothing but flying through rings. It blew my mind when I saw other reviews, and found out there's more to it. Not to mention, the virtual world story. So, it was nice to have AVGN finally show - hey, there's more.
I know right, I thought the games was just superman flying through rings, mostly because I never got past the first mission, and the levels repeat themselves, so you would not think there was some form of story or more to the game than meets the eye,
I do have a couple of things to add about this game. First of all, those rings take you from one mission to the next, and by that I mean you start from the area where the previous level took place, and you finish where the next level takes place. couldn't they just let you fly around, explore the world and have an arrow guide you to the next level, like so many other games? I also saw a 4-part review of Superman 64, where I found out that apparently there's a comic book that leads to the games events. I don't know if it came with the game or if it was some kind of promotion, but it's something, I guess.
@@MynameisCharlie: I could *MAYBE* understand Superman defeating the "Bosses" in 3 hits, in *ONE* hit, if they were *NORMAL HUMANS!!* But they're freaking alien super-beings!! Make them somewhat challenging! Christ!! And the freaking rings?!?!? Who the *HELL IN A CELL* isn't plagued by *Recurring Nightmares* of that?!?!?
@@MynameisCharlie: I'll probably *Never* play the damn thing, and *I've ALREADY MASTERED perhaps the Most Important Rule!!* If Superman says: "There's no time to waste", *IT MEANS FUCKING RINGS TO FLY THROUGH!!!*
You know what's ironic? The gap between this video and the original "Superman 64" review is longer than the time between the original video and the game itself!
I felt it was my duty and obligation for one last reaction video before going to the airport tomorrow, I didn't want to leave you guys hanging, for a month, waiting for me to return just to react to the new angry video game nerd episode, ^_^
Interesting facts though, Superman 64 was so reviled by the fans in general, yes, then Atari took a page out of Superman IV's book and in Nuclear Man fashion, kicked Titus Interactive (And it's Titus although "Ti-ttus" was a good joke though but still it's wrong pronunciation btw) right in the curb straight into the Nuclear Reactor as it disintegrated (It's a joke btw), and showed us how they made a proper faithful Superman game based on the Animated Series aside from the 1988 Superman Arcade Game and the Death and Return of Superman, called Superman: Shadow of Apokolips on both the PS2 and Gamecube with only Lex Luthor and Darkseid as the overseers, and instead of Brainiac and Mala brought in, It only featured 5 Bosses: Metallo, Livewire, Parasite (Rudy Jones), Kanto, Darkseid's servant, and the Interbot leader (being the first boss in the level "Steel Factory Showdown") with the proper voice acting, with the exception of Michael Ironside (Darkseid) and the late Brion James (Parasite (Rudy Jones)).
There's this positively ancient Let's Play from one called ProtonJon that attempts to get through this game with tons of trivia and background history of this game. The kicker? The LP is still going, he STILL hasn't finished it because as cursed as this game is, so is the Let's Play, numerous setbacks, lost data, several cross-country moving, recording corruptions and whatnot have put episodes of the LP YEARS apart from each other.
the fact that he revisited this game was a shocker cause I didn't think he would do that. do you think he might revisit more games he did in the past and review them in more debt? I'd to see him do more of Dick Tracy on the nes again. I can't believe how many levels have all these rings. they way over did it with that shit. I'm surprised they didn't make you fly through rings in the end credits of the game. I'm guessing this game ruins friendships more than Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde on the nes. have a safe flight Charlie.
I feel like this episode wasn't as silly as it could have been, and was nowhere near as funny as his first Superman 64 review. Regardless, it was still an enjoyable episode and I'm glad you reacted to it before leaving. Take care.
Bootsy and Kyle Justin left the channel permanently, after some arguments about money. And as for AVGN itself, James no longer directs, produces or writes them. Or does the gameplay.
Where did you learn the last few things? James writes them and takes info from some friends from time to time like Mike and the film guys, most of the writing comes from James and Mike sitting and playing the games while James has a little notepad just in case the game sucked. James seems to work himself to the bone on videos, it's been like that when he was a kid and it's been like that now, from Mike, he said that he was a video-making machine.

While he does have some of Avgn still in him. It’s nowhere near as good as before. The first SM 64 episode built up tension. It got more intense through out the episode. The first one also felt more genuine, and in this new episode, it feels like a big goofy act. That’s like most of his modern episodes.
Yeah, this one felt a little to scripted, however, that's to be expected, I mean, your going to feel the difference when you compare a 2008 video to a 2019 video, it was 11 years ago, much has changed, he's got other projects, and a family, he's probably exhausted, slowing down, which is expected as he's been doing avgn episodes on UA-cam for nearly 13 years now, 🤔
