    You could have a separate video talking about the better things patients can do. For example, while warm compresses with a warm cloth are cloth, using a heating mask is better. Just an idea 😁

    The AREDS2 have recently been linked to breast cancer according to my ophthalmologist and retina specialist.

      There is some evidence that there is a higher risk of breast and prostate cancer with zinc. Everything is a balance of pros and cons, so this could be a consideration on whether to take this supplement or not. There are newer formulations with lower zinc like PRN numaqula (prnomegahealth.com/products/maq_vitamin/)

    My mom got a cataract and booked for surgery in 5 months or so. Do you think I should get her to take the preservision Ared2?

    • @MicheleLeeMD
      @MicheleLeeMD  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for sharing. Does she have macular degeneration (or early macular degeneration)? While it wouldn't hurt to take an eye vitamin, the most effective use would be for macular degeneration. Another option is that she can eat more leafy greens as a natural way to get more caratenoids.

    Doc Lee, if I can bother you one more time.I try not to use eye drops, but I found Systane brand "gel" drops relieving. Any pro or cons for these "GEL" vs liquid Drops?

    • @MicheleLeeMD
      @MicheleLeeMD  Рік тому +2

      Gel drops are great - because they are thicker they stay in your eyes for longer. They can make your vision a little blurry which is the main "con." The thicker the drop/ointment, the longer it stays in but the more it impacts your vision short-term.
      Hope that answers your question!

      @@MicheleLeeMD Doc, thank you once again. One last question. After watching your video I read the label and the "Systane Gel Drops" do not say PF, but don't have that BAK preservative you mentioned. They do contain .001% preservative (polyquadtermium-1, I think that's it). So you would not recommend these then? TXS, Lou

    • @MicheleLeeMD
      @MicheleLeeMD  Рік тому +2

      @@louarmagno515 There are preservative-free gel drops like Refresh Celluvisc PF. Otherwise you can use the gel drops but make sure you don't overdo drops that have preservatives in them.

    Lumify isn’t safe at all. Visine is still ok. I suffered from severe dry eyes up to a point that I wasn’t able to see a person few feet’s away from me. After I stopped using lumify my eyes got better. I beg everyone please don’t use lumify at all.
