Even among all the truly great TED talks out there, this one stands out. Such a superb and joyful presentation! 'What's that?' leads so naturally to 'what might be' - that I'm curious to see what her next books and TED talk will go!
Her book Come As You Are is as amazing as this Talk!! Thank you for everything you do Emily! I have learned so much from you and will keep spreading it to all the people around me!
Emily Nagoski has got such an endearing personality, and she delivered a great speech here. After listening to her narration of the book Come as You Are, I've been buying copies of it and sending it to friends. Truly amazing and life changing. Keep up the good work!
So relaxing watching and listening to you here at the top of the mountain of Italy. Thank you so much for talking of this argument. You make me in a good today.
You have a high % of being DEAD right now were it not for animal experimentation for drugs...better we should test drugs on Puerto Ricans ( birth control pills to get the dosage right etc) right? Vaccines were and are tested on Africans, thanks Bill Gates, nothing wrong with picture, right? We would know nothing about brain science at all had research not been done on animal brains FIRST. Cut down on lots of human deaths. You may believe a rats life is equally or more important than yours or your childs, but I dont..thank goodness YOU werent in charge of the world the last 100yrs ...half the world pop would not be here right now. I know, BIll Gates would have loved that, but not ME.
one in four woman are sexually assaulted in america? and one in six men? has it really gotten that bad? something tells me that may or may not be a feminist exaggeration, but not sure.
That was hard to hear, but important! I'm in the middle of her book "Come As You Are" and I thought I'd give this a watch. So glad I did. She's changing my life
Hey... I am Mavi from India I am searching for partner who can speak English and can help me so i think u r let's if u ready then say yes we can get connected on watsapp thanks❤🌹😊
"normal" is not what people need or really even want. It has been used as a tool of social conformity and dominance. We want respect for who we are in all our abnormality. Normality as a gateway drug to being liked and accepted is a fallacy. Authenticity--being who we truly are--is what we're all hungry for. Self acceptance rather than seeking approval from outside is a much deeper ground to rest on.
Yes but in areas that are strongly associated with shame feeling normal or not so different to everyone else will kinda heal us and take out the shame.
Such a fantastic talk with amazing, applicable content! This speaker really has something to offer and she delivers it so well. The Force is strong in this one!! 😃
Fantastic talk Emily. Humor, powerful human experience we can all relate to and science? The sacred trifecta of an impactful talk that will change people's perceptions and hopefully their lives. Thank you.
Masterful. One of the best speakers I've ever seen. Joy to witness this in person
She wasn't giving advice on sexual orientation. She was giving advice on accepting your personal brand of sexuality, whatever 'orientation' it may be.
Nico Val You should pay attention when you watch videos. It had nothing to do with orientation.
This is a wonderful presentation. What a delightful woman!

Hello dear
thank YOU EmilY! to all native english speakers out there...nowhere on the dictionary..what does yopping mean? cheeeers
Francesca Fasso I’ve never heard of it. There’s “whopping”, but I’ve never heard of “yopping”
it's "yawping", meaning hoarse shouting. (at 16:37) It's very rare --I've only heard "yawp" twice in 50+ years. (Here and in a poem by Walt Whitman.)
@@MikeRoam2 Wow Whitman that was a lifetime ago....thanks!
And I thought I knew stuff 😅
how did UA-cam know i was gay?
informative yes with a mix of cringe
You're not Normal, you're Freaky😋
I caught my husband shaving his junk and he said it was just a phase two weeks later I caught him in our bed with my best friend Faye
Jeffrey Dahmer was normal?
Haha! only if he had gone to college, gotten a job in real estate and bought himself an aquarium
The next Tedtalk: Money, the key to being rich.
So many many many white people.... this makes me sad.
testing on rats...animal abuse :-(

one in four woman are sexually assaulted in america? and one in six men? has it really gotten that bad? something tells me that may or may not be a feminist exaggeration, but not sure.
Such a strong SJW vibe with this one.
She is amazing, the force is strong in this one!! You're talking rubbish Kerala Mo.
RUBBISH is right.
hey girl. don't promote how smart you are. really bad talk.
I know this is super late, but I'm pretty sure she's saying her audience is smart...
Your bar for smart isnt very high, I have the opposite criticism dumbed down science.
