      She wasn't giving advice on sexual orientation. She was giving advice on accepting your personal brand of sexuality, whatever 'orientation' it may be.

      Nico Val You should pay attention when you watch videos. It had nothing to do with orientation.

    Even among all the truly great TED talks out there, this one stands out. Such a superb and joyful presentation! 'What's that?' leads so naturally to 'what might be' - that I'm curious to see what her next books and TED talk will go!

      it's "yawping", meaning hoarse shouting. (at 16:37) It's very rare --I've only heard "yawp" twice in 50+ years. (Here and in a poem by Walt Whitman.)

    • @latinaalma1947
      @latinaalma1947 2 роки тому

      You have a high % of being DEAD right now were it not for animal experimentation for drugs...better we should test drugs on Puerto Ricans ( birth control pills to get the dosage right etc) right? Vaccines were and are tested on Africans,thanks Bill Gates, nothing wrong with picture, right? We would know nothing about brain science at all had research not been done on animal brains FIRST. Cut down on lots of human deaths. You may believe a rats life is equally or more important than yours or your childs,but I dont..thank goodness YOU werent in charge of the world the last 100yrs ...half the world pop would not be here right now. I know, BIll Gates would have loved that, but not ME.

    "normal" is not what people need or really even want. It has been used as a tool of social conformity and dominance. We want respect for who we are in all our abnormality. Normality as a gateway drug to being liked and accepted is a fallacy. Authenticity--being who we truly are--is what we're all hungry for. Self acceptance rather than seeking approval from outside is a much deeper ground to rest on.

    • @a12i9
      @a12i9 4 місяці тому

      Yes but in areas that are strongly associated with shame feeling normal or not so different to everyone else will kinda heal us and take out the shame.
