I think this is one of the best lego city layouts I've ever seen. The size is great and the details are plentiful .Sometimes size isn't everything .I can see myself living here .Great work.Beautiful.
The pier idea is definitely something I've been thinking about doing! Also I used to have the Hollywood sign if you look at my videos on my parrafilmsguy channel. Just need to build it again!
+parrafilmsguy yes! I noticed the Hollywood sign in your earlier videos shortly after posting the comment. A pier would certainly be very cool because of the color and pure Los Angeles like theme. I would suggest buying the new Lego made Ferris wheel and taking off all grass elements and then putting them on a pier MOC! I think the Santa Monica pier is very iconic.

Are the skyscrapers microscale? They seem too tiny compared to the official LEGO buildings.
They're definitely scaled down but I think it helps them blend in the back. Otherwise, they'd be too tall and would ruin the cityscape. :)
