K8 is great is the song, one of the songs wed always jam on my mini ramp and box jump on our bikes n the mid to late 90s. My ramps were so fuckin big that they took up the entire driveway and both my parents lost their license from parking in the street legally from 3-5am. No reason, the city just made it illegal to have out more Tix
Saw them 2000 with green day in cologne. the singer gave me a free cd from their actual record outside the venue.. few days later i realised it was him:-)
How time flies! One of my favorite shows was the Bouncing Souls at the Nsect club way back in 1994. Never heard of them before that day. Needless to say they left quite a impression. Some time later saw them again at the Mercury Cafe in Denver. During the show the lead singer climbed way up in the ceiling rafters. I was thinking "what is this guy doing up there". He was looking down on the people and nodding his head like "you got me"? I couldn't believe it when he actually let go and fell about 15 feet and everyone caught him. Let me tell you that is one of the craziest things I have ever seen. It took big balls of steel to do that. Had they not caught him he could have broke his neck, back, legs, or ended up in coma. That day this guy put his life in the hands of his fans and they came through. A real testament to the punk rock movement of the 90's! I rarely listen to punk rock now and the scene is a world of difference from what is was. But I am glad to see these guys are still around. I salute thee!
PUNK ROCK MIGHT HAVE A DIFFERENT FLAVOUR NOW... BUT GO TO A LOCAL SHOW AT A HALL/ GARAGE /HOUSE AND YOU WILL FIND... PUNK ROCK AND PUNK ROCK ATTITUDE. With out commercial watering down I live 7kms from the nearest town. Upper North Island New Zealand small town farming mostly. anyway i was at the skate park with my 3 boy's and this young dude turns up double mohawk old jacket with a big incercled anti nazi flag on it black flag dead kennerdys crass minor threat patches went up had a good talk with him im 50 he's 14 years old the only punk in town AND HE GETS IT!!!! PUNK ROCK IS ALIVE AND KICKING one thing hasn't changed since i first got into punk 1984!!! Joe public are still hostile this young dude gets harassment all the time. Even his dad!!!! For fucks sake but he's into it and FUCK the haters
Man, that moment at 1:08:42 gets me every time. On top of Greg high fiving people in the crowd and the stage diving, you have all these people making space to dance together. That right there is the essence of a Souls show. What a band.
Really wish they played deadbeats. I was recently listening to the first album and I forgot all about that song. That song and "I'm in the in the inspection station... Waiting... To be inspected." Such great songs.
I saw this guys back in 2009 in Mexico, I was 14 years old and the show was at an old church, one of my favorite shows ever! I hope I have the chance to see them live again
The print and ticket stub from the 20 year anniversary show in Philly has been framed and hangin on my wall since 09. I think I started seeing them around 01-02. Crazy how long its been. 🤘🏼
I saw these guy's early 2000s at the KINGS ARMS (R. I. P now highrise apartment's) Auckland new Zealand with MISSING TEETH AND THE CITY NEWTON BOMBERS WICKED NIGHT NICE DUDE'S... UP THE PUNKS!!!!!
everytime i get goose bumps at lean on sheena. even if it's a cover, it's one of their best. a melodic masterpiece. and with gone or true believers they created some outstanding songs, songs you can add to the best of of punkrock or melodic hardcore. songs you will still listen to in 30 years :-)
I’ve seen them in three countries and two continents maybe 20 time. They never played Monday Morning Ant Brigade despite my incessant chanting. And The Pete looked right fuckin at me.
Setlist not giving enough respect to Ghosts On The Boardwalk and Comet tbh, they’re both still fantastic records that Souls fans just do not appreciate enough. Weak crowd too, Asbury Park would show these fools up any day.
w/e I kind of agree with you. Several months ago I made a Spotify list of my favorite bouncing souls songs of all time (there were like 50 😬) and I was surprised I had six on the list from GOTB. There were also three from Comet. Last year, I figured out the lyrics and guitar chords for never say die/when you’re young. It’s one of my favorite souls songs of all time and clearly overlooked considering it was released 10 years ago and I was the first person to tab it at UG: tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/the-bouncing-souls/never-say-die-when-youre-young-chords-2719473
@@erictankeastburn6291 I'm not the biggest souls fan, but fuck comet is a great record. if I could make the house wife choice, its better than how I spent my summer vacation.
They almost never play those songs. I see them at least twice a year, sometimes more. If you're lucky, you might Gasoline, Ghosts on the Boardwalk, Airport Security, or When You're Wrong, but those are rare, and when they do play them, they'll only play one. They've been mixing up the set list a lot less the last few years. I brought my girlfriend along the last time that I saw them. I made a playlist for her two weeks before the show, so she would recognize the songs. The playlist had 20 songs on it, and they played 19 of them.

Bouncing Souls were my favorite band as a teen. Glad I got to see them live ~03 and crowd surfed to the stage back then. They don't have the same feel without McDermott. Greg was boring AF when I saw them, just grasped the mic and swayed back and forward. But, JOHNNY X AINT NEVER DONE THE RIGHT THING ANYWAY!

Generation X. Grey hair, extra pounds, still stage diving. I love us :)
Punks not dead!! It just has more grey hair and goes to bed at a much more reasonable time 😉👍

I've always loved these guys for their positive message and fun sound. I guess being true to ones self and saying real shit pays off in the long run.

It sure is. Sitting here with my kids ignoring the news, drinking tea and watching this show
listen how raw this is. flat notes, missed chords, drums off beat, etc. this is REAL! Olivia Rodrigo’s live? Almost entirely prerecorded IMO!
Fun fact: Bryan’s wife use to date my uncle, that same uncle was in the crowd for one of the bouncing souls music vids
Yeah yeah
Yep. I'm feeling old dude.
Abby Jane and pancakes are also here in the crowd and happy anniversary bouncing souls 🎊🎉🥳

@ "weak crowd": this is melodic-punkrock but not as melodic-hardcore as other bands. it is actually more to dance than to push around
Facts about the crowd
Is that George Rebelo on drums?
Does anyone know the name of the song that plays right before the show starts?
Stone In Love - Journey
No "ghosts on the boardwalk" songs?
Coulda used sum Gasoline.
