That is a compelling story. I've been in plenty of earthquakes here in California, but nothing like the Palu quake and liquefaction. When you look at the ground and it's breaking up and swallowing people, you've got to be serious terrified. She is a courageous woman. What a terribly sad event. I'm glad she and her family are ok. She certainly has the right attitude!
It must have been very terrifying when she said about the soil swallowed the victims. It is estimated that more or less 7.000 Petobo Citizens buried under the land.

9:10 Poor Indonesian can't afford to implement the kind of earthquake proof building tech like in Japan or Korea. Its just too expensive. Just look at Jakarta which is currently sinking caused by uncontrolled ground water extraction. Instead of improving the lives of its inhabitant, the govt just choose to relocate to Borneo. The story is harrowing and it is just going to be sadder after this.

I was in Rantepao those days and probably that place saved my life. I still remember the shock. Terrible!

There were several earthquakes in Indonesia in 2018. The title should include Sulawesi.
Sir, it is in Sulawesi ... Petobo is in Central Sulawesi
@@Ranatastic I know, but I only found that out after reading the description. Sulawesi should be in the title.

Unlike Japan and Korea, we have a vast territory, making the implementation of this way harder
