I’m going for the Astra over the 308.
The 308 looks impressive at first but next to the Astra the 308 seems a little pretentious. If it would deliver on its pretences I would forgive it.
However, since Peugeot insists on putting plastic on the backs of their seats, the Astra wins for me. It’s got cleverly scooped out backs to their seats and it’s a soft, padded material. This means that even if your knees are touching the seat in front of you, it won’t be an uncomfortable experience. In Peugeots, it is!
Too bad Peugeot. I’ve been loving their designs but that is a needless oversight. It can quite simply make the difference between usable and unusable.
I think it's a handsome car, but the 308 maybe a bit cooler. I have a 2017 Astra, which I'm starting to think about replacing (got it new), I'll definitely be having a look at the new Astra, the only problem with the 308, I don't like the small steering wheels in Peugeots.
You get used to it fast.
I can guarantee you don’t have more knee room in the 308. I’ve did extensive tests of being able to sit behind myself in these cars (I’m 1m83). The Astra scores significantly better than the 308, because A: the seats have a cutout for your legs and B: it’s soft material you’d potentially be resting your knees against. Peugeot, for some strange reason, insist on putting hard plastic on the back of their seats.
The difference in comfort in the back is therefore NOT small.
If you’re relatively tall and need to fit relatively tall passengers behind you, be very careful in getting a Peugeot. The equivalent Opels and Citroens will offer you significantly more comfort in that regard.

the digital cockpit from the astra and mokka look like something "futuristic in the 80's", i dont think it looks good and shinny black plastics tend the scratch easily

Depends on when you ordered. Before August 2022 you won’t get the pro version.
