For those using an official Disney Transfer from the Airport/hotel/parks to the port, can select an earlier arrival time. If you did online check-in and found the boarding time you got was late, you can add a transfer and switch your boarding time after. I've done this twice, and both times I was able to switch to an earlier time, though I still wish to test it further.
For my last cruise in October 2022 I added Disney Transport after I did the 30 day check-in. I went from Boarding Group 8 to Boarding Group 3. So not only is Port Arrival Time irrelevant if using Disney Transport, the cast members will also print you a new QR code for an earlier board group. This was my first time cruising as a party of two, so Disney was cheaper than a private transfer from the airport.
🚢Yes, I think a video on the DCL Navigator App would be good. It would help first timers learn how to use it; and, those who have used it could learn some tips they didn't already know. See you in a few weeks in Alaska!
Suggestion-take photos of each piece of luggage that you check, so you have record in case of loss. Also you are allowed to take backpack (or handbag or tote) and a carry on for each person (2 items to carry on) Great info in this blog Adrian!
My first ever cruise isnt until next June but im getting all of the info I can to be prepared. Out of all the youtubers I've watched, Theme Park Express has been the most helpful and honest about everything! Thank you, keep up the good work and dont ever stop living your best life 😊
Adrian, i'm glad you decided to do these types of videos! Please do more of these! I'm going on my first Disney cruise in September, so this has been helpful.
Yes... please do video on how to use navigator app. I'm disappointed that I HAVE to give in and use a device. I miss paper navigator days. So anything you can show on how to use, it would be very helpful and very much appreciated. Thank you 😊
I second this! Cruised DCL last summer, but I'm sure that there have been "upgrades and improvements" since then, as well as features we didn't discover/understand last time! Thanks from a new subscriber!
Super helpful advice! I’m taking two friends on the Disney Magic this year and it’s our first cruise ever so this video is going in our group chat! 💙💀💙
Great video. Sending it to a bunch of first time Disney cruisers for our friends Disney cruise wedding next February. It would be awesome if you did a Disney app how to video (as you suggested) and a tipping at the end of cruise (increasing tips at guest services or bring cash) and packing the day before informative video. Please.
One thing I found during my check-in, make sure any pictures you take for your identification is in JPG format. I had my passport card photo stored in Google Stack app on my phone. What I didn't know that it was converted to PDF file when it was stored. So make sure ALL photos of selfies and id is in jpg before you start checking in.
I'll be going on my first cruise in early June on the Wish! Thanks for the tips! I wrote them down and will be using them as a checklist of what I'll have to do. I will be looking for the Muster Station when I get on first so I know where it is and how long it will take me to waddle there. (arthritis in both knees).
So excited, we’re going on our first Disney cruise this year and where would you suggest the best views for the sail away party and the pirate night would be?
*tips if you have little kids* 1. If you have little kids make sure to bring a toy or two since they may be bored quickly. 2. Tell them what's going to happen and what to expect. It makes the chances of them behaving and not throwing a tantrum higher. 3. For moms who have little babies, make sure to bring a carrier, strollers can be hard to move around with. 4. Parents with kids who get tired easily, stop by the pool where they are chairs and take a resting point. 5. Ask the kids where they want to explore first. If the request is unavailable (like meeting a character or going to the room) then tell them that's a surprise activity later.
Super informative ! Thank you. What makes me nervous is… how do you know where and what time you eat at the restaurants? Do you receive an itinerary? And you did mention you can get on board and request a dining outlet but is this for the restaurants you must pay at? Thank you for all the great information.
You can view your assigned dining time on the app or on the website prior to your cruise. Once you board you can view your dining rotation. The request for dining on embarkation day is for the adult specialty restaurant that costs extra
Hey Adrian! Great video. I'll add a specific tip for those who qualify. We are a military family so we have taken advantage of Disney Cruise Line's military discounts on cruises. For those who are using this discount, you need to make sure you also have your military ID with you on embarkation. We have been pulled aside during the check-in process so that they can verify we do qualify for the rate we were given. Also, curious if this happens for FL residents or DVC member?
question..I will going from Old Key West to port for our cruise and I am booked with DCL. Will pick us up at old key west. My party will have two different rooms. IS there a place when I register to let DCL know where to pick up both rooms suitcase
For Port Canaveral you can book either an Orlando or Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral hotel. I just look for best price since we fly into Orlando and will have to get transportation to the port either way. We have had success booking two one-way rental cars so we usually stay in Orlando overnight then drive to Port Canaveral and turn in rental car then take the rental car shuttle (complementary) to the Port.
First time cruiser, when we did our online check-in, it looks like we signed our kids up for kids club and we picked a secret password. Are we going to have to do that again once on board or are we good to go?

Also great video, I enjoy learning while I edit.
Thanks for this info! As a local I’ve never had to use a transfer so this is some great stuff to learn! Pinned!

Really great tips!
Very Helpful, thank you!
Thank you for this! Will rewatch when my first cruise date is a little closer, lol! I would also 100% watch a vid on the DCL app and how to use it.

Me too

Fantasy!! I leave in 24 days for a cruise on the Fantasy for Halloween on the High Seas! Can’t wait!
Great & informative video!!
I would absolutely love a video on how to use the Navigator app!

Omg thank u so much for this video. It's my first cruise and need to know everything
I’m glad this helped!
First time Disney cruiser, would love a video on how to use the app
Love the elevator hack!! Of course only for people with mobility issues.
Super helpful advice! I’m taking two friends on the Disney Magic this year and it’s our first cruise ever so this video is going in our group chat!

Thanks for the tips! I will be sailing on the wish next week and this is very helpful!
That new intro is 🔥

Loving the new logo.
Are you going to mention the last day of the cruise, where you have tip everyone? That adds up fast.
That will all be covered in a future video
@@ThemeParkExpress That would be appreciated! I am a bit nervous about the concept as it is not really a part of the social culture here in Australia.

Great tip! And yes they do check for FL resident ID if you booked that rate. Happened to us on the magic last year
how is the parking at the port? are there enough spots for the ship?
How are the magic bands activated on board ?
Does DCL do anything for people celebrating Birthdays?
Where do you go to make those dining changes once onboard?!
Do you need to cheek a carry on luggage? And please do the app video
Do we need passports or is that optional? First time cruisers
I am looking to cruise with kids. Is getting and finding your terminal easy or can get lost I am nervous
Are they still doing the health questionnaire, and asking about covid, here in late 2023?
❤❤❤❤❤

When you check in go to concierge desk and inform them just to be sure but they SHOULD already have it in their system you have two rooms
A lot of people can’t take an extra day off or don’t want to pay for a hotel so they have to arrive day of
We have not received notifications for your videos!
Im a out of towner any info or recommendations on hotel

If you do it online you’re good to go. However we do still recommend going to explore the clubs and meet the counselors
