Do you have a tutorial for making silicone skin for a small area of the face? I would love to make small silicone prosthetics for the undereye that can be placed in the tear trough area and create smoother transitions from the cheek to the undereye. People use cosmetic filler to correct this issue, and I was wondering if a topical silicone solution could work.
I really enjoy your mold maming tutorials. Im looking to try brush-on vs block because I heard that not as much product is needed. Do you have a specific formula you use to measure out your brush-on product needs?
It’s a lot trickier to calculate brushed on molds than poured molds. Not sure if there’s a reliable formula for that. My personal approach is to compare it to a human head. I’ve molded a lot of heads and an average head and neck takes about 5-6 pounds on average.
@@krazykara1327 TC-5140, the silicone in this video, may be thickened with SC-5001 for brush on molds. Some platinums do not respond to thickening agents.
@brickintheyard Do you have a similar concept but for demonstrating on a stand up statue with some hollow space at some areas? If so, maybe you can post the link to watch please. Thank you.
Just curious-why can’t the 5100 be thickened? Just can’t be brushed on regardless? Pot life? Something else? You once mentioned varying silicone hardness levels to get realistic skin, so I’m wondering how that comes into play… (Also, I tried sending a couple emails looking for help figuring out which products would be best for my project, but I never heard back. Is that assistance thing only via phone call? I have hearing problems, so I’d be a real pain on the phone… Would that still be preferable even if it means I need you to repeat things a dozen times?)
5100 can be thickened with fumed silica, but not a chemical thickener. We get a lot of email traffic and we do our best to respond to emails as they are received. If you have a lot of very broad questions, a phone call will always be the most effective way to reach us.
Great tutorial as always...
Thank you!

I don't have a tutorial that specific, but 5110 is skin safe and would probably be a good fit for that application.

@bitymoldsupply thanks! I've noticed that as well. I'll keep that in mind, for sure.
Was a print coat not required in this case?
This was a fairly simple, smooth part so it wasn’t necessary. Sorry, should have mentioned that.
Can the liquid platinum silicone be used as brush on ?? Or these are just different formulas? Thank you

@brickintheyard thank you for getting back to me.

Can you put this over chevant clay?
Yes, but do a test first. Sometimes Chavant clay needs to be sealed and released. ua-cam.com/video/vec523fAb3A/v-deo.htmlsi=cZ_HVMmTmDotRm-x
Thank you! I got this product and it's amazing! I love your videos and products
