Nice shave as usual. You are right about personal preferences when it comes to the number of passes. I could get by with one pass as far as how my face "looks." But when I rub my face in different directions, I still feel some "scruff" after one pass. So I do the 3-pass shave until I get that smooth "feel" in all directions. As a daily shaver, it's a refreshing way to start the day. We all have our preferred routine. That's what makes traditional wet shaving so enjoyable.
Some people like three-passes. Some people like two-passes. I take as my standard, an ideal two-pass shave. I call pass #1 the course pass and the pass #2 the fine pass; but in reality I often do a small number of partial retouches after pass #2 just to achieve a more satisfactory shave result. When I feel I need three full passes, that is usually because the blade is becoming too dull for two passes.
Hello Ken Would you please make a video about the new Tabac and the old Tabac with tallow. Investigate it if there is any difference. best regards Darius / Sweden
Great shave Ken. I don't know about others, but my skin is pretty sensitive and prone to irritation. I typically will do one thorough pass then look/feel for stray whiskers to pick up here and there afterward. Seems to work for me shaving daily. Cheers!
I just wanted to say Thank You for sharing Your techniques in wet shaving; even the smallest of details. I've wet shaved for many years; learned most of my wet shaving mannerisms from the military, but I've enjoyed watching/listening to You communicate etiquette/products, that for me, has made Wet Shaving more enjoyable, and helped me change what I do. To include, showing that Wet Shaving can have a sense of class/style; instead of your "run of the mill"/"fast food: hurry and done" disposable razors and canned shaving creams. Appreciate Everything Ken 👍
Excellent shave Ken. Edwin Jagger's razors are awesome and are always top shelf in my humble opinion. I've not seen Halston Z14 aftershave splash since I was 8 years old back in 1985, wow. My dad also used an old classic, English Leather. There's no way I could get away with just one pass even if I used my Muhle R41. My beard is ultra tough and grows extremely fast. These razors are far more comfortable than cartridges are any day.
Great shave. I usually put the splash on by rubbing it all in. Sometimes if there’s still an excess of it left after putting it on my shaved face, I apply the remainder of it on my arms and elbows. That’s my way of applying the aftershave splash. Have a good one!
Thanks for the shave Ken💈💈 Using old school along with new stuff is not uncommon. Usually results in a good shave. The "Diffusion" handle is one of EJ's best, easy to use and looks great. Nice video and results, enjoy. See ya soon.
I had Avon in the 1970's. Uncle was a Avon salesman at the bicycle factory he worked at so I was swamped in new Avon when it came out. Guess I'm different when it comes to applying aftershaves. I use one hand.
Funny you should mention Newcastle. Jim Will Shave did a little coastal scenery video that included Newcastle and gave you a shoutout in it. And yes, it was cold. I say keep the stache. It's due for a revival, dangit. They were everywhere when I was a kid. Burt Reynolds, Tom Selleck, Hulk Hogan, Alex Trebek, Weird Al...we need to Make Mustaches Great Again! 😂
I am a daily shaver so the number of passes depends on how close I get from the day prior. 95% of time, I do 3 passes. I sometimes have extra lather so I will apply a final non-shave application because I like a particular scent. Why waste lather? Lol! I shave my head every 3 days for 3 passes to be cueball smooth. Take care Ken.
Hey Ken, I’ve used your Wilkinson Gillette blades since finding your channel for a couple of years now, but decided to go back to the Gillette yellow 7 o’clock, and it really reduced the burn of my aftershave. I have a cabinet full of aftershaves, but I seem to always use the Gillette cool blue. Maybe it’s just not that strong anyway just my two cents worth. Love your channel!
Great shave Ken. Yeah I wish sometimes I could get away with one pass but I don’t get a very close shave that way. My Dad only shaved electric so I am pretty much self taught. Luckily a few years ago when I switched from cartridge to DE channels like yours and other were around to learn from. BTW. I know your originally your from England. What brought your family to the US if you don’t mind? Was it for work or something else? Thanks.
am from the 80s I didn't start shaveing intill I was in my 20s and I use to have the original lil bottle of colon and after shave sit from the Calvin Cline that came in a long case! and my mom would always tell me it smells like old man! 😂 but they don't have them anymore
"What quantity of the aftershave splash do you put in?" Can you find a way to measure that quantity? But this does not seem to be something that wet-shavers actually try to measure. I believe it can be done.

I think the gentleman who asked for the aftershave tutorial wanted to see a classic Kensurfs "Burn" closeup lol
Lol

Halston : A classic blast from the 80's past and probably my first ever venture into that something different 😁 Loved it.

Hi Ken!
Great shave!
Thank you very much for the explanation of the aftershave splash! It was really helpful.
Keep up the good videos.

Thanks, you too!👍👍💈💈
Nice Shave Ken !!!!!
Thanks 👍👍💈💈
Got my 2023 Kensurfs Brush today! It looks great!!!
Awesome👍👍👍👍
I know it’s a cartridge razor, but I’d like to see you do a shave with an Atra or a Trac II again.
👍👍I just found a cool vintage one. I’ll try it soon

The number of passes also depends on how aggressive the razor is. With my Muhle R41 GS, one pass (with the grain) is all I need.
👍👍

Oh man☃️☃️☃️☃️
I live a hour from Monroe and it’s cold. Tomorrow night is supposed to be to be 17 I think.
Very cold👍👍👍💈
Is there a website specialized in the world of shaving that is the same as the Fragrance website for perfumes?
Badger and Blade
Thank you very much 🔥🤍
One advantage to a moustache is if you apply lots of aftershave splash on it you can smell it all day long 😎
True👍💈💈
Any noticeable difference in feel between the EJ DE89 and the EJ 3one6 ?
The 3one6 seems smoother to me 👍💈

My aunt had moved to California first and encouraged my folks to move too. Great weather, low rents (at that time).

kensurfs, when will you be taking off the moustach?
Best can recall, everytime you remove your moustache, there are cuts that happen on that area.
👍👍
