​@@aswin9607it's not at all a threat. The shipping companies are not going to ignore vizhinjam which is 10 NM away and go to a port 1000 NM away by spending additional money for transhipment. Vadhvan is a gateway cardgo port

@@aswin9607 There is no cruise ship berth for vadhuvan port like vizhinjam port. The international shipping channel of Vizhinjam port is 10 nautical mile (18 km).So it is not a threat to vizhinjam port. Please see this full video 📹 and reply. Vadhuvan port will have 9 container terminal on 1000 meter, 4 multiple purpose berth, 4 liquid berth, one Ro - Ro berth and one coastal berth while vizhinjam port will have 5 multi purpose berth, two cruise berth, one coastal berth,one liquid berth and one navy berth .

It's true that Vizhinjam is near the shipping lane but Mahesana to Mumbai is the most Industrial belt of India plus WDFC connects with Entire North India and Upcoming East West DFC also benefits to Vadhavan Port and It's same Deep Sea Port as Vinzhism which cater Mother ship....
Vadhavan has the most Preferred Location for India.....and will have the chance to become the largest port of India.

@@arjunraj823 only TN is Industrial there and also Western Ghats increase it's cost plus most export are from eastern side Chennai plus have ports like Tuticorin in Southern side Yet we consider TN for Vizhinjam port.....but Vadhawan can cater Maharashtra & Gujarat most Merchandise export state Plus entire North & Central India which will depends on Mundra & Vadhvan only in Future and WDFC boost North India Manufacturing....After East West DFC East also depends on Vadhvan as most exports are to Middle East, Europe dependent so easy in west side port......
All Analyst predictions that Vadhvan will be 6-7th largest in the world due to Location....Not the same for Vizhinjam.

There is no logic in spending additional funds to travel further from the international route for transshipment. Vizhinjam's close proximity is its greatest advantage, nothing can surpass it.
